Sometimes there are days like these, you know? And it's only Thursday. Sigh. Is it me or this week really, really slow?
Yes, he got a funeral and some fine words. Even in winter, if you go close to the house, you can find some soft earth for those dearly departed who happen to leave us in sub-zero weather. I didn't dig down too far, but I did say some really nice things about Fish. It went like this: "You were a good fish." I'm not sure you can say much more than that.
I hope someone says the same about me some day.
Well, except for the fish part.

Awww. Poor fishy. Perhaps spring minnows will heal the heart (yours).
LMAO.. yep. That's the same kind of funeral I want... but I want to be seared over a grill first with a twist of lemon perhaps.
The way of all flesh. But Spring will bring you new joys!
A lot of people seem to think this week is going slowly...or so I have been reading.
Hang in there...it's January 31st and tomorrow is February and then March after and then spring:) We have no snow. It's a clear bitterly cold day but we have no snow:) I can see the grass....yeah I know it's brown but I'm sick of white.
Well, he is also good fertilizer.
I'll be sending you a photo of froggie soap soon. I have two now!
Short and to the point. Too bad all funerals weren't like that.
Apparently my brain is turned off today. I spent a lot of time looking for a dead frog.
Dang, that's too bad. Hope there aren't any more fatalities in your pond!
What a kind woman you are to have a funeral for your outdoor fish! Oh, and yes, this week is definitely dragging along. Can't say I'm sad to see January end!
Rest in Peace little fishy!
It's Friday tomorrow - woot woot!
xo Catherine
Chuck--Oh, there are many more fish in the pond. Still....it is a lost life. I said some fond words and moved on.
Diane--He didn't look all that delicious. Blech!
Vanilla--Always. Spring, Summer and Fall bring new baby fish.
Grace--Oh good, it isn't just me.
Mary Ann--We finally just got some snow! Not much, but it is snow. I'm happy about that. We need some winter.
Patty--That's what I thought--he can be dinner or fertilizer! Can't wait to see the frog soap!
Ann--The only thing we were missing was a song by me. I thought the neighbors would really think I lost it. ;)
Sharkey--Hahaha!
Beaded Tail--We lost a lot of fish this year. I think they got old--we've had some of these fish for years!
Karen--nearly everyone gets a burial and a kind word around here. Well, unless you are big--then we can't bury you in the yard.
Catherine--Oh, this week has been LONG! Whew! It's almost over!
Poor little fishy. :(
I check our two every morning to make sure they are still belly down.
Poor fish, but at least he had a good send off.
