Creative Living

When you've got a wee abode....

We refer to Colin's bedroom is the "basement." We use his room for storage when he's not home.  Not all the time, of course--only for things like the tubs of Christmas decorations while we are putting them up or for all of the decorative items from the family room while we are painting this week.

The garage is now the new "outside." Apparently it's too cold for Hobbes to go outside-outside, so he just sits in the garage until he gets bored.  And no, he doesn't look for the mouse while he's out there---that would be "work" and of course, that would spoil the fun.

Martha Stewart's go nuthin' on us with making full use of our space.

Hobbes cracks me up. I can't imagine what he'd do if he got his paws on a computer.

Halfway outside is better than noway outside, right?

Oh and at least you aren't being presented with mice with their brains chewed out. That's what Harry does now. Catches them, plays with them and chews their brains out and then leaves the carcasses for the chickens. A brain chewed out mouse is truly disgusting to see.

My husband is trying to turn our basement into a "man cave". I'm not sure what he plans to do with all the toys down there. We currently use it for storage.

Ha ha...love it! The garage is the new outside.....that could be a great feature in one of those Home magazines! Maybe Hobbs is onto something! That would certainly work for us Canadians, 6 months of the year.

Such a funny photo...having even one room of the house painted while you have to live there - total PITA

Haha, awesome! We need a "basement". Right now our actual basement is being the "basement". And it's really supposed to be our family room. Sigh...

Awwww.... HObbes..... lovely.....

I know what you mean about "musical rooms" ...even without the music.... my exercise room just finally became less of the storage room, even though the storage area is just off that room.... it was full.

Now my dining room has become my hobby room while I get the hobby room more or less organized...probably less as it never can be truly neat and tidy...after all it's the place where I am allowed to make a mess and just close the doors...nice new spiffy doors now too.... oh, yeh......

good luck with the painting...hard to feel too sorry for ya Lin...after all I just moved up from sleeping in the basement on a mattress o the floor wedged between the treadmill and the book cupboard and plants ....hahahha........ I'm feeling like quite the queen in my own bedroom again believe me.... lovely and spacious and wow...right off the bathroom which I can find without the aid of a flashlight now...heaven......

Life is good . . . if your name is Hobbes and you live at Kautz Haus.

Winter is a time for making do with what you've got. Hobbes obviously knows that

Lisa--He is a goofball. A very bored goofball.

Patty--Blech! I don't think I want to see a mouse with its brains chewed out. :( Both cats are soooo bored these days--all they do is fight. I think the mouse in the garage is dead from the poison, so even he isn't any fun to chase.

Anne--Oh no. What is with men and "caves?"

Hot Rocks--I don't know what he does out there, but he's happy. I'm not asking.

Debbie--Oh, we are just painting the family room--nothing grand--pretty much the same color, just freshening it up. I was going to change it up, but I really like yellow in that room.

Grace--Oh, we've been through worse. We lived in two rooms while all the floors were being refinished. I still wonder why we did that!

Nancy--We don't have a basement, which can be good or bad. No place to save stuff, but then...we have no place to save stuff. :(

BumbleVee--I can't imagine what you went through! I'm not complaining--actually I'm excited because we usually do the work ourselves. This is a treat to have someone come in!

Chuck--No kidding. He has the LIFE!

Ann--I don't think he does. He is VERY crabby these days.

Catherine--He's having a fit in that photo. This is Hobbes demanding that someone open the door for him. He's so hilarious when he does this!

Sounds like Hobbes is as demanding as our Bob cat! :)
