Big Hair

Oh, it's always some thing or another when you live with us. You never know what we are gonna do for fun, do ya?

This weekend brought us short notice on Em posing as a hair model for a hair-dresser day conference.   While I knew of these "continuing education" opportunities, I'd never been to one. Nor has my kid ever been the model.  It was all very interesting....and fun.

Joe is a fantastic hair designer--I couldn't believe what he was getting the hair to do.  Em's hair was twisted and turned into all sorts of lovely ways.  While it looked over-the-top, it was to show various techniques...not necessarily to all be used at once. I think he called these techniques "ribbons and bows."
It's really hard to see by the photos, but her hair is woven through the other hair. He used a latch-hook rug tool to pull the hair through.

When he completed her hairstyle, Em walked through the crowd and posed while the hairdressers in the audience took photos, touched, and admired his work.  She spent a good part of the day modeling with 3 other girls--they never sat down.  But, they had a blast.
These were 4 really beautiful girls....all of whom had never modeled before--although you'd never know it.

Lovely model!
BBBH has done that on both sides of the chair. I guess it would be fun, but looks like an intense and tiring day to me-- from either side.

Your Em is a "head turner" of that there can be no doubt. I suspect that not only will heads turn when she walks by, and you can expect some severe neck injuries.

Must have been a great experience. For everyone.

Emma is a beautiful young woman...

Since she is your daughter and all, I will refrain from commenting on just how amazing she must look in a pair of hip-waders. By the way, have you noticed just how much she looks like you?

Isn't that interesting.
She is just a stunner.

That's pretty cool to be a hair model! The designs are pretty fancy for every day but Em pulled it off beautifully!

Vanilla--Oh, see?! You already know about such stuff! I didn't really, until Sunday. It was tiring, but because it was new to us, it was interesting.

Chuck--Thanks, Chuck. All 4 of those girls were gorgeous! And nice too. They had fun with the whole adventure. We did too--learned a whole lot of new things that day!

Liz--Thank you. We had no idea what to expect--that's why we went along. But it was a fun day to learn about something I had no knowledge of.

Grace--Thanks, Grace. These girls were soooo pretty--each in their own way. We had a fun adventure...as always.

Patty--It was cool to see and learn about. I had no idea what they did at these things...now we know. :)

Diane--They had so much fun! None of them had done this before, so it was fun rather than just a "job." And not only were they really pretty girls, but they were nice too.

Beaded Tail--I think this was a "think outside the box" class. I couldn't believe what that guy could do with hair! It was fun to watch.

Ann--Oh, they were sooo excited to see what they were going to do with their hair! It was a fun day.

BumbleVee--:) Amazing what he could do, eh?

Anne--He was amazing. He had the most incredible ideas for hair--it's no wonder he is very popular for photo shoots around the country.

Oh, that's so neat! How fun to feel like a girl sometimes and have an opportunity like this. I bet she had a blast!! What great makeup too!

Catherine--We only have the face in common--I was NEVER that thin!

Jerry--I dunno. I'm guessing it was rejected. :P

Hot Rocks--thanks. They were such beautiful girls!

Debbie--Thanks! Yeah, this hairdresser is extremely talented.

Florida Farm Girl--It was amazing what he was doing with their hair. I wish I had taken more photos.

Nancy--The girl with the multi-colored hair did the make-up for them. She was really good. And yes, they all had fun doing this, although it was exhausting.

Very pretty, but I'm so uninterested in hair it amazes me that people are willing to put up with the time it takes to do that.
