Make way for ducklings

The faux turtle from last summer sort of fell apart at the end of the season, so this summer the pond is featuring...........

ducklings!

No, they aren't real--I wouldn't want all that poop in the pond....and imagine the horror if a frog ate a duckling..... EEK!

They are sorta cute, aren't they?

And already, the great ideas are floating in as a friend suggests putting numbers on the bottom of them.  She thinks its a great idea to try to catch a ducking and then you have to do shots according to the number on the bottom.  Yeah/no.  Somehow, I'm thinking I'd be spending my summer dragging friends out of the pond.

I'm just hoping these little guys don't attract adoptive parents.

Rejecting the shots idea is a good thing. Just enjoy the pond. Oh, yeah. Seeing a duckling being consumed by a predator is not something you want in your backyard.

I would choose fake ducks over real ducks any day... they don't leave duck poop in the yard!

Where I live, some of the homes use the lake water to water the lawn. An underground PVC pipe goes in there to draw up the water. So the pipe don't get stuck in the mud at the bottom, they have fake plastic ducks as floats tied to them!

We drove by a yard yesterday that was loaded with plastic pink flamingos, there must have been 50 of those things. I like your ducks better

Catherine--Aren't they cute?! The frogs don't think so though. :(

Vanilla--Yeah, no live ducks, ducklings or anything else in that category. I can handle only so much gore.

Diane--Bingo. That's what I was thinking too.

Vee--Yep. They are bullfrogs. Bullfrogs get big. And they get hungry. They eat anything that moves--they are dumb like that.

Rebecca--Nope. No flamingoes. I think they would scare Mr. Cuddles, the fish.

DJ--Well, fake ducks are allowed. No poopin' in the pond!

Grace--They're plastic, Grace. Sorry. And no squeaking. Even when they get stuck under the waterfall.

Nancy--I'm waiting to see if the fish lay their eggs on the bottom of them like they did on the turtle.

Daisy--I'll bet those ducks are not happy being tied down like that. Free the ducks, Daisy!!

Ann--Yeah, me too. All those pink flamingoes can be a little much. I think they would make the frogs throw up.

You might be right about doing shots, but oh man, that would be fun!
