I was busy minding my own business and swimming my laps yesterday, when I noticed one of the "standees" leading a revolt in the non-swimming lanes. She was all arms-a-waving and pointing to the lane markers. I couldn't hear what she was saying, but she was definitely miffed at the lap swimmers. I knew what it was because I distinctly heard "AND they splash us!"
Uh oh. Storms-a-brewin' at the Golden Acres Swimming Pool....
I swear I heard their noodles snapping the surface of the water.

LOL! Sounds like there is a certain order to things at that swimming pool. No splashing at a pool? They don't want to get wet??? ;)
Happy Wednesday Lin!
xo Catherine
You ALWAYS make me laugh.... "noodles slapping the water". Oh lordy, that's a good one.
Oh Lin...ya better get some backup before the rumble:)
Are. You. Serious?
Could it be that the invasion of the pipsqueaks is about to be repelled?
Fun, gams, and loving kindness at Golden Acres!
Well, I meant "games", but "gams" too?
Oh my, oh my - Makes me ashamed of being a senior citizen (insert unkind remark about old people here)
And that 88° water must be sooooo very cold on their wrinkles
At that point I'd have to swim real close to them and give a big splashy kick all the way down the end of the pool. Tell them to pull their swim caps down tighter and get over themselves.
I walked over to the pool a couple minutes ago. There were twelve women and a man in the pool. Twelve of them had noodles; the other one was standing mid-pool waving her arms languidly in the water, much like a Sunbeam Mixmaster on ultra-slow speed. I reported back to Beloved who said, "I wanted to go swim some laps, but all those old birds do is stand around in the way." Understand, Beloved's children are all older than you. Weather report: sunny, air temp 86 degrees.
That reminds me of when my kids were younger and they would both have friends over in the pool. The girls always screamed about the boys splashing them. Um, duh, you're in a pool :)
OMG, I simply canNOT believe you got someone wet at the swimming pool. When they were already in it at that. For shame!!
You only reinforce my reasons for hating pools. I'm hoping I'll still have my swimming enthusiasm when the water warms up.
they better cool that water tempature , tempers are beginning to flare . i see a knock down brawl brewing between the lappers and the walkers . winner takes complete control of the pool . lol
Catherine--Isn't that silly?! You'd be surprise how many of them still have dry hair when they get out.
Diane--Oh, if only I could smuggle the camera in to the pool area.... :)
Mary Ann--Well...I could swim away, I guess. :P
Vanilla--I think it just gives them something to talk about.
Grace--Nah. I'm just having fun with it. :)
Pricilla--They LOVE that water. Who needs a hot tub when you've got a whole WARM pool?
Winnie--I thought about kicking harder, but it was more fun to swim stealth-like. Made her look sillier. :)
Vanilla--I LOVE that story!! Hahaha! I'm guessing you guys are on the Fish gang?? :)
Ann--I have to admit to not wanting to be splashed when I'm sunning myself. But doing workout hour??? Yeah/no.
Nancy--I think I made them move too. Hahaha!
Sharkey--Well, it's either the pool or the weight room. At least I don't see as much silliness when I'm in the water.
Paul--It's getting scary. It's gonna be a big water fight! I think we'll win because the other guys are afraid to get their hair wet. :)
Guess there needs to be some changes made. Lap swimming at certain times and lazy floating at other times.
Hilarious! Even more so that you picked that there clip. My daughter loves that... I can barely stand to watch it.
Maybe they should not stand in a pool if they don't want to get wet. Hmmm? That's a thought. LOL
Silver--That's funny! As a matter of fact, I suggested the Bob 'N Blab to the rec center manager. I think he thought it was funny but didn't laugh. I even suggested T-shirts with that on them! I think it could be a social hour in the pool. If I knew that was what it was, it would make it so much easier.
Petula--Why don't you like that clip? I think it is hilarious that they are supposed to be a "gang" and they are so clean cut.
