It was 80 degrees here yesterday and there isn't a soul who was happier with that fact than Hobbes. Guess where he was all day? Outside. All. Day. He's also very glad that Colin was home for Spring Break to keep the kitty door open for him.

| "I love you, Tree" |
For some reason, Hobbes has decided that he loves the redbud tree this year. He lays by it. He sits next to it. He sharpens his claws on it. And then he rubs his face on it--marking it as his own.
And every so often, he gives it a little squeeze.
It's kinda weird. Cute, but weird.

Tree lust.... how funny. But it's good that Hobbes is being good to trees. Maybe he is sending you a message.
Oh, you mean literally. It is cute.
Super photos...
Weird and adorable!
Oh that looks like a wonderful way to spend the day. Hey I have a tree inside next to my office window, think I can lay near it and just lay there for the day? LOL
They use the bark to clean their claws and the rough edges helps to pull off their shedding fur. Big cats in the wild will do the same thing.
The goats will rub against the bark of trees to help remove their underfur in spring.
Our domesticated cats still hold onto a bit of their wildness
Well...they do look similar in pattern.
Oh...and I wanted to tell you- went to JoAnns today, and they did have heavy weight interfacing this time. Score! Not sure if I bought enough though...find out soon enough!
Maybe it's because the color of it goes so well with his stripey self
So cute!!
My dog loves being outside in this weather too. We can barely get her to come inside sometimes.
He sure looks very orange and stripey today! It's cute that he enjoys his tree!
I love that orange stripy kitty - he knows a good tree when he sees it! :)
xo Catherine
Diane--It's just weird. He LOVES that tree lately. He even licks it. Maybe he needs a girlfriend or something.
Vanilla--He really hugs it. Then he licks it. It's just weird.
Grace--:)
Liz--I think he's just giddy with the warm weather. I hope the whole summer isn't him hanging with the tree.
Petula--I think you can do that, although others may find it weird and you may lose your job. Then you will lose your house and will HAVE to live under a tree. NOT a good idea, pally. :)
Pricilla--That's exactly what he is doing--sharpening his claws and marking his territory. He bites the bark off too and licks the tree. He is just giddy with that tree!
Nancy--Oh, I'm glad you found the interfacing! Be sure to always ask for what you need because they typically have stock in that stuff. JoAnn employees usually have some background in sewing--fyi
Ann--Maybe he thinks it's his mother???
Rebecca--He is so happy to be back outside again. He just hangs out in the yard by the tree all day. It's so funny!
Silver--Oh yeah, we can't get Hobbes to come in! He's exhausted from all the fresh air. Is your dog snoring too??
Beaded Tail--Maybe it is the lack of color out in the yard, but I thought he looked extra brilliant too.
Catherine--He's such a weirdo with that tree. He even licks it! What is with that???!
kitty doors...so great for being safew! love 'em....
Wow, 80 degrees huh? It got into the 70s here with sunshine so my cats were happy about that too. Hobbes sure looks happy lying in the warm sun by his tree!
BumbleVee--There is just something about the freedom. They love the "choice". :)
Karen--Oh, it's downright balmy here! But its gonna hurt BAD when we go back to "real" March weather. Ugh. Hobbes is soooo happy though!
Ha! Well, at least he has picked an attractive tree. Hobbes is really one strange kitty!
