Em and I took our toes for pedicures on Sunday. It was a preliminary soaking and preparation for what was coming on Monday.
Golden Acres Rec Center was calling--I'm officially back to swimming with the seniors again. Kill me now.
Thanks to a recovering toe, the madness of the holidays and the winter weather, the pool was not an option for me for the last couple of months. But now I have run out of excuses and the scale keeps telling me that it is time to bust out the goggles again. And so, I pulled out the gym bag, dusted off the speedo, and sprayed a fresh coat of No-Fog on the eyewear and headed over to claim a lane during Senior Swim hour.
Apparently the cold weather scares the old folks off too and a private swim lane is easily snagged. Okay, the water is 90 degrees and the cast of characters is bountiful--I guess I haven't missed much in my time off.
Gone is Snorkel guy and lady with her shoes on in the pool. New is Tatoo boy and the Sasquatch in Lane 2. Gone is my ability to pound out a mile swim in a half hour, but new is the attitude to drop some pounds.
Stay tuned for tales from the deep end........

Have fun back at the pool Lin! :)
xo Catherine
Hopefully Sasquatch and Tattoo Boy will do something interesting!
Fabulous photo!!!
Oho! New material for D&W,
(After tomorrow, STSTT and BobWarr are out of business. My hard drive is fried. Alternatives (other people's computers)limited and iffy.) *growl*
Yay! That reminds me I need to get back too!
You need to take a goat swimming with you. THAT will get folks talking
I saw your title and thought news of my huge feet got all the way to where you are.
Despite reports in states all around me, spring is still a ways off for Upstate NY. We expect a snow storm or ice storm tomorrow night, yay us.
Have fun at the pool! :)
Good for you to do that.
Love the picture of the frog.
Can't wait for the report on the swimming adventure. Take care.
It's a good thing Harley gave up his swim team aspirations. He had no idea he needed No-Fog, so he probably would have swam right into everyone with his fog-obscured lenses.
Good for you for going back. Sounds like you've got some future blogging material. I wander what happened to the Shoe Lady?
Yay for more tales from the deep end! A swimming Sasquatch? :)
Catherine--I'm hurting, pally. Hurtin' BAD.
Melodie--Well, if they don't, I'm sure there will be more weirdos who will.
Grace--He's cuter than I in the water!
Vanilla--You can't be "out of business"! How about "Gone Fishin'" or something like that?
Nancy--Oh, I thought of you. I'm hurtin' though. I'm OUT. Of. Shape.
Pricilla--Seriously, I need a "Tethered Goat"--which is soap-on-a-rope from Pricilla. I hate when I drop my goat soap in that icky shower at the gym!! I think I've got brilliant marketing schemes. :P
Ratty--You don't have hairy feet, do ya??
Rebecca--Yuck. If it snows here, there is NO WAY I'm going swimming!
Marg--Oh, it hurts to swim again, Marg. I'm not gonna lie.
Daisy--Do you know what is worse than seeing all those weirdos in the pool? NOT seeing them! It can be very scary. Tell Harley I will share my No-Fog with him.
Simone--I think Shoe Lady and her friends don't wanna be cold and wet. I can't say that I blame her. The pool is EMPTY these days! Yeah!
Beaded Tail--It was scary. Very scary. He was the hairiest swimmer I have EVER seen! EEEK!
Wish I had a nearby, affordable indoor pool. Oh well, walking is just as good (or so I'm telling myself!)
Silver--It's not so fun getting wet every time you go to work out. It takes twice as long as a regular workout because you have to take a shower and dry your hair at the club. It would be great if you didn't have to get wet!
