The morning after the annual Band Dinner Dance is never pretty. It's typically the result of a late night mixed in with lots of dancing and laughing with the band pallies, plus a wee bit of booze.
This morning was no exception. Well.....maybe it was, because apparently somebody had a little too much medicine at the dance and is really, really hurtin'. And that somebody was also dancing a lot because her feet hurt like the dickens too. It's kinda ugly this morning.
And while that is all well and good, I also volunteered to make breakfast for the dance team at 8:30 a.m.--which comes really, really early when you were partying the night before. Ugh. But we pulled it off--I was cooking bacon while Joe made the pancakes. I turned on every light in the house and cranked not only 1, but 2 stereos, and was singing and dancing all happy-like for those not-so-awake teen girls. I faked it. I faked that I was fine, but I was dying inside and my tummy was rumbling. Oh, the things we do for our kids.
Oh, did I mention my big win at the raffle table? Giant mirror. Yep. So, now I can remodel our bathroom........ with our new mirror---and about $5000 more. But, it's a good start, right? Well, that's what I kept telling my very grumbly husband as he was trying to load the darn thing in the back of the van.
It was a good night and well worth the pain the next day. Now, if I can just get my stomach to stop rumbling....

How did your new toe stand up to all the dancing?
Congrats on your win?
You dances, you pays the piper. Sometimes before and after!
Oh my - I shall laugh quietly...
Awesome that you won a mirror! Are you going to show it to us?
What?...no pictures of the mirror...tsk:)
hmm, can't party like you used to huh? :)
But at least you're creating such wonderful memories! :) Congrats on winning the first part of your bathroom remodel!
Never actually stuck around for the dance portion of the band dinners. Stayed for the awards and left. One year because I was SICK and the next because watching a movie on the living room couch with the boyfriend was just too appealing.
I have a hard enough time fixing my own breakfast every morning. I don't think I could have done what you did.
Score on your win! I certainly hope your stomach feels better by now :-)
Does that means some more Home Depot comedy hour coming soon Lin just tell Joe measure twice then have you measure , how was the turn out ? i heard they were having trouble selling tickets
Pricilla--I just started wearing a bit of a heal this week and that was my first night out dancing in them. My feet were a little sore, but from the comments I was receiving, apparently I was dancing a LOT. :) I'm gonna have to wear flats this week.
Vanilla--Oh, but it was a fun night, Vanilla. :) Had a GOOD time, so it was worth it.
Grace--I wasn't laughing yesterday. Ugh.
Diane--Oh yeah, I had to recover before I could get the camera out. Saturday was sort of a lost day.
Mary Ann--It's coming. Prepare for loveliness!
Ann--Oh, man...NO! :( But I had a really, really good time Friday night. Hee! Hee!
Beaded Tail--Breakfast was fun and I'm glad we did it. Nice kids--and they all came, which was cool.
Silver--This was our Dinner Dance, so there were no awards or anything like that. There is a dinner and then the jazz band plays. It's a nice night out with the band parents and some band kids come too. I think the parents have more fun than the kids!
Ratty--We do it all the time for the Colorguard during marching season, so we kinda have the breakfast thing down. Joe and I have this little routine and it runs smoothly. It is really only work for about 2 hours and then I take a nap.
Lisa--Oh, it was a bad day on Saturday, but that is what I get, right? Can't do that much drinking anymore apparently! :P
Paul--As usual, the sales were slow, but we had over 225--which is a good crowd. Fun night, but I do have to say I missed you and Mary. And yes, I usually have to give Joe a consult on measuring.
Party on sista'! Until the next morning when we have to pay for it. :(
Congrats on the win!

Wow, sounds like you were a wild woman. And cooked breakfast too. You have my vote as Mom of the year. Hope you have a great week.
Great post.. We just had our Spaghetti and a Song fund raiser.. I know what you mean.. those things are work!
Catherine--Oh man, I can't party like I used to. :(
Marg--I just like to laugh and have fun, Marg. As for the award--I'm happy if I just get points for trying. I think you can't win as a mom most times.
Shauni--I wasn't in on the work, but I sure had FUN! ;) Well, unless you count working the dance floor...
