Sure, NOW it comes

It's official--I'm done with Christmas and New Year's.  Well, actually, I was done with it three days ago, I just finally finished packing it all up and sticking it in the attic.  Sheesh, that is a lot of work for a few weeks of decorations around the house.   I'm glad Christmas only comes once year, I'm exhausted.

It was frustrating that after the last box of holiday was shoved up the attic stairs, the snow started to come down.  It's like it was holding out on purpose, driving the kids nuts with its absence.  Now we have little time left to hang out and here it comes--taunting us with snowy white slopes, bitter cold, and glittery ice, perfect to skate and sled on.  Sigh. That darn Susie Snowflake--she is such a tease.

Here we are, January 2 and beginning 2012.  I'm not one for resolutions (or revolutions), but I like to start the year positive, acknowledging the things I need to work on, and I make a conscious effort to improve myself, my skills, and my attitude.  I'm big with ditching the negative, not engaging drama, and trying to laugh just a wee bit more than the past year. I like Diane's thoughts on this--she's gonna stay light and just try her best.  I think I shall join her.

But first I have to go shovel the walk....

How dare you hold back on the snow until I'm back in the South? The nerve! I did get a few flakes when we were walking the lake bluff in Michigan, but that was it.

I'm pretty impressed that you got all your holiday stuff put away too!

We missed the worst of the MI storm last night. Just enough here to call it snowy. I might break out the snowshoes just because, but I don't really need them yet.

Happy New Year to all of you too. We don't make any revolutions either, thank COD. Take care and have great week and maybe a snow ball fight.

Pricilla--No kidding! Poor Hobbes is very crabby with today's temps.

Diana--It's COLD up here today. Even Hobbes won't go outside. :(

Liz--It's just a dusting--one that will probably disappear tomorrow. But it was good to see and a little boost to see the world all white and pretty for a change.

Sharkey--It's just a dusting here, but it was still pretty. Wish I didn't have to go anywhere today--just sit by the fire and enjoy the white. Ugh--tomorrow I have to commute in it.

marg--I doubt there is enough for a snowball, but it is sure pretty covering the world today. :)

We finally had snow too but it's all gone already...now it's raining yet again. I haven't worn my winter boots yet so I guess that's a good thing. Hobbes certainly looks a bit annoyed. His feet will get cold and wet.

Snow! I want snow! I know I say that every year. I suppose if I actually got it a few times, I'd change my mind. Happy New Year to you all, fingers crossed it's a good one.

Humm, wonder why my comment came up as my blog address. Must be a glitch, I'll try again.

I'm jealous of your snow, Lin. One of these days we'll drag the kids north to see it for the first time!

Isn't putting away the Xmas stuff a BITCH? And after I close the attic up, I always find several straggling decorations.

Have fun and play hard in that snow!

We don't have snow but there's plenty of rain! I like your idea of resolutions and I'm trying to ditch the negative too.

Dear Lin...please keep the snow there. I do not want it. ;)

While I applaud your positive-outlook, glass-half-full, rosy view of the world, I find it really hard to keep smiling while gripping the handle of a snow shovel. ;-)

We got snow here today too. It was a bit of a shock when I looked outside this morning.
I wish my Christmas stuff was down and put away.

Mary Ann--Hobbes is NOT happy. He wants to go out....but it is soooo darn cold. :( Then he comes in. Then he goes out again and it starts all over. Ugh.

DJ--We want snow too! I mean, if it's winter and it's cold, we might as well have some of the white stuff!

Casey--Don't rush in getting your kids to see snow--they'll just get sick. My cousins did every single time they came up to Chicago in winter. It was awful. I swear there is always some smart-ass decoration who hides until I put everything away. It's like their "fun" or something.

Madman--I'm gonna try and stay loose--you know, so that stuff doesn't bug me as bad. (How many more days do we have until 2013???)

Beaded Tail--We are getting the rain too! What gives???! It's so darn depressing. At least snow is pretty.

Catherine--You've had your share, I know! We just want a little--nothing like what we got here last year!

Vanilla--Yeah, but try it with a snowblower--it is much easier. :P And faster too.

Ann--We took our stuff down while the kids were home to help. It is such a big job. Hate it.

Chinese New Year is just around the corner! Looks like I'll never be done with the celebrations!

And it's the dry season here - hot, hot, hot!

Enjoy shoveling the walk! WIsh you could dump some of the snow over!

Snow seems like it is the perfect combination for the holidays. Maybe you need a do over???

Like Sharla, we only have rain, no snow!
I've already packed up our Xmas decorations too. What a relief.

Good Susie! Don't visit on Christmas Eve or even on Christmas Day. Wait until it's over and everyone is going back to work and the ever popular daily commute. Break a leg girl. :)

Jodi--I think it would be easier if it would just get cold and stay cold. This up and down is CRAZY! I can't get used to it.

Veronica Lee--It's sorta "hot" here too for winter. This is the first cold we've had and it's gonna warm up later in the week. It's just weird weather. :(

Chocolate--A little snow for Christmas would have been nice, but no, I'm done with holidays and decorations. I'm not getting them out again!

Duni--I dread packing up all that stuff. Blech. Glad it's over.

Tracy--It's a weird weather year, isn't it? I'd almost rather it just stayed cold--it would be easier to deal with.

Chuck--Yeah, that was extra special to see her on the roads this morning. Ugh.
