Lil Drac ROCKS!

Look what I won over at Your Daily Cute!

Snappy, eh?

Dorian (tender-hearted gal that she is) posted these adorable videos that show the good that is happening at a bat rescue in Texas.  She was making a donation in the name of one her readers and that lucky reader was ME. Hooray!

I received this neon pink bracelet in honor of her donation (thank you, Dorian!) and now Em and I are fighting over who gets to wear it. It reads "BAD"--which stands for "Bats are Deserving".  But I think that it means a whole other thing when Emma wears it. (Don't tell her I said that)

Either way, raise your awareness of The World Bat Sanctuary and the sweet little creatures they help by watching these videos.  If you don't fall in love with Lil Drac, there is seriously something wrong with your heart:

*sniff* *sniff* Wasn't that lovely?  Wanna know what happens to Lil Drac?

Yeah, I did too.  Look:  (grab your hankies--"sweet" alert!)

Dang. Isn't that just the sweetest thing EVER?

Thank you, Dorian, for the bracelet, donation in my name AND for introducing me to a great cause.  I'd like to pass on the love of Lil Drac and his friends and do the same for TWO of my readers.  So, leave me a comment and let me know if you are in and I'll toss your name into the mix.  I'm gonna skip the bracelets and just do a cash donation--more money will go to the bats that way.

awwwww...I like bats, always have! Anything that eats their weight in mosquitoes is alright in my book! I know folks have the whole "rabies" fear but heck, any wild animal could have rabies, just use common sense.

Aw, little drac all grown up and still likes to rock. now how sweet is that.

Awww, bats are really vital to the eco-system. They eat 4 times their weight in bugs a day. Mostly mosquitoes. At least the bug eating bats do. Drac is a fruit bat so he's a whole other story.

Carlsbad Caverns National Park has an adopt a bat program.

I saw those videos - so cute. Personally I always liked bats tho some breeds are cuter than others...but then I like rodents and reptiles too.

I hate bats! Well, bats are OK-- far, far away from me! They all seem to like my hot little house in the summer and flap around my head.

That was pretty sweet! I had no idea there were places for bats so thanks for the info! It's wonderful you are going to pass on the love of Lil Drac with two donations!

Melodie--Yep, you're right--any animal can have rabies or just be a menace. Just look at those wacky raccoons I had--ugh. I fell in love with Lil Drac, didn't you?

Ann--Wasn't that sweet?? Gees, I got all sniffy.

Pricilla--But he goes around spreading pollen and stuff, so he's got his own job to do. :)

Grace--I don't like his wings, but then again, I don't like opossum tails either. I guess we all have our "ugly" parts, right?

G'ma Phyl--We went to the zoo once and I stood there watching the bats for the longest time. I couldn't believe how sweet the moms were with their babies. I guess like everything else, you have to look past the ick factor.

Rebecca--Oh, I would not like those guys invading my house either! Maybe it's Lil Drac coming in to say "hi"!

Beaded Tail--If you go to the website and read the story about how they got Lil Drac and his friends, it will break your heart. I loved how kind they were to Lil Drac and held him while he rocked. They were so patient and kind.

Daisy--Isn't he cute??! I like how he hung onto his sponge while he rocked. If you watch the video again, you can see that he holds onto it for a long time--like it's his mommy. :)

Hmmmm....I'm on the fence with how 'cute' this little bat is but any time an animal is helped to survive, it's a beautiful thing! Congrats on the win Lin!

Catherine--Really? You didn't think that little baby was sweet??? I like how he'd hang onto his sponge like it was his mommy.

I have always thought bats are adorable. I dont know why they creep people out.

Sharkey--I think it's their wings. It's kinda like the opossum tail--not such a pretty part of the animal. Otherwise, they just look like mice to me.
