Ah, the good 'ole days when he actually fit in his basket. I think this was taken.....oh....about 13 pounds ago.
Hobbes and the rest of us are wishing our dog pally, Abby, a very speedy recovery! Abby and her owner, Gerard, were attacked the other day on their walk by a couple of hoodlum dogs who had gotten loose. Abby is showing some positive signs, but she is badly hurt. Gerard got bitten up when he tried to save Abby. We are praying that she and Gerard recover quickly. We are also sending love to Karen as she is very worried about them both.
Get well soon, Abby!

Thanks so much for sharing about this on your blog. Gerard's hand is healing nicely and he'll go back to work next week. As for Abby, she seems to be improving but is still not eating.
I talked to the other dog owner last night and he was very apologetic and agreed to pay all the bills that will be coming as a result. He said the dogs got out of their yard because apparently the gate wasn't latched closed all the way and they didn't even know the dogs were loose. They had three little kids and never had a problem with the dogs. They said the older one will be euthanized and the other 10-yr-old puppy will be put in a different home away from here. I was very happy to hear this.
Such a scary and hurtful experience for Gerard and Karen, and for the dog. We had similar situation with Cookie several years ago. His butt was virtually bitten off, but a good vet, a needle, and daily dressings for several weeks restored him to health and he lived another ten years! Wishing you well.
That is scary - for everyone including the owners of the other dogs...Hope everyone recovers well and quickly.
Oh that's awful what happened. I'm glad Gerard will be okay and hope Abby begins to eat soon. Also glad neighbor was understanding and apologetic and not a jerk like some people can be.
I love the see Hobbes' basket pictures. Such a sweet littler kitty! LOL
So sorry to hear about Abby and Gerard. I do hope they are ok
Dogs that attack like that once will do it again. I'm glad to read that the owners are doing the right thing. I am very sorry for the little doggie and for the Gerard. My thoughts are with them and we all send lots of goat hugs.
Oh...that sounds horrible! I'll send some good thoughts there way too.
Retro Hobbes..beyond adorable. By the way, he's not fat, he's fluffy!
Hope Abby is doing better today. At least the owner is wanting to make things right by taking care of the bills and all.
So sad and upsetting for everybuddy! I sure hope Abby and Gerard are all better soon.
How scary! Glad to hear that they are healing up.... Love me some Hobbes :)
We're very worried about Abby and Gerard and hop they both get better very soon!
Good thing the cop didn't see that photo of Hobbes or you would for sure have been taken in! He looks so mistreated! LOL!
Too many people let their dogs run free. It's much safer for other dogs and people, and even the loose dogs, if these people keep a closer eye on their dogs.
Look at that cute little tummy! Cute cute! I hope your friends are Ok!
