I love Hobbes .....and snow

After I made sure the coast was clear of cops and other assorted pains-in-the-neck (a.k.a. neighbors), Hobbes and I ventured out into the snow.  One of us bravely lead the way, making trails for the other, less brave Eskimos.

After a little encouragement, my 47 lbs of Stripey Goodness met me in the yard:

And while the path was nice, he soon got bored of that and made his own trail.  It lead past me and Em....

over a mound or two of snow....

and straight over to the pond to see if he could see the fish or the frogs.

The whole adventure ended abruptly when he sniffed the heater and a foot  got a little soggy with cold pond water.  Snow is fun--but only until you get cold....or wet.

After a half hour of playing in the snow and chasing snowballs, Hobbes called it a day and snoozed the whole adventure off in his basket by the fireplace.  He is not a very good Eskimo.

He lasted longer in the snow than I would have! Loved to see your mound of orange stripy goodness having fun in his beloved snow.

Yep...the snow is fun...for a short time!Hobbes looks like he had a great time in the snow. BTW...I think you have more snow than I do...that's got to be a first!

What fun for Hobbes! I wonder how my cats would like the snow--don't think they would. They are freeze babies like their mom-lying next to heaters most of the day.

Sherpa doesn't last that long...Harry, yes. But not the big wimpy

That Hobbes has got the life. Eskimo adventures and snoozing in a basket by the fire.

He sure makes it look fun to be in the snow but we'd rather just lay in front of the fireplace!

I can't believe how much Hobbes loves the snow. Banjo was out in it for about 3 minutes today. Big fluffy flakes. I'm glad there were no cops driving by! Ha!

I'm glad he had fun in the snow, and even gladder that he has a nice place to go inside away from the prying eyes of a few lower intelligent police. I wonder if it might have been a vindictive neighbor that called them. I've had plenty of those in the past.

Betty--He's so silly. I never knew a cat that would willingly play in the snow. He stays out in it longer if he has company, so I bundled up to enjoy it with him.

Chuck--The first thing Hobbes does when he goes outside is to check the pond--he likes to scare the frogs into the water. It was funny that he did that in the snow as well. No frogs around for some reason. ;)

Hot Rocks--It rained soon after and now all the snow is gone. :( It sure was pretty while it was here for Hobbes to play in.

Grace: :)

Karen--I never knew a cat that liked the snow like Hobbes does. He is very silly. And brave.

Pricilla--That's funny. Go Harry!

Ann--That's what I was trying to explain to the cops. Sigh.

Beaded Tail--It IS fun! Especially when Emma and I go out with him. He thinks that is so much fun to play with us. Silly cat.

Catherine--He's been going out in the snow since he was a kitten. He can't stand just being in the house for some reason, so snow doesn't stop him!

Ratty--I called the police chief and inquired about the tactics those idiot cops used. He claims there was a call and yes, I believe it is our nasty neighbors to the north. They are so dysfunctional, they don't know what a nice family is and they call on us for everything--including child abuse, and now animal abuse. Heck, they call the cops on themselves too, so I just ignore them.

Rebecca--:) He's so goofy.

I never knew cats liked the snow. He seriously is having fun! I need to borrow Hobbes for a day brightener.

Liz--In the cat world, Hobbes is considered very brave. We just think he is silly.

Chocolate--They don't typically like the snow--that is why it is so funny. Try explaining that to the cops that showed up at my door the other day to report me for "animal abuse" for letting him outside. He has cabin fever soooo bad in winter! You can borrow him anytime--but shipping costs would be prohibitive because of the weight!! Hahaha!

He's braver than our yellow lab. He goes out and its hopping around like ew ew ew my feet are getting wet!

I wouldn't like a cold paw either! What a weird boy...I've never really let a cat outside (on purpose) so don't know...is it normal that they like the snow? It just doesn't seem natural!

I can't believe he even went outside! Guess his curiosity got the better of him! And, for 47 lbs, he's making quite a leap over that mound of snow!

I'm not sure I share your love of snow that much. The year before last we got 3 feet between two different blizzards. The shoveling even wih a small snow blower was a bit much. But it can be beautiful until like you said you get wet and cold or just exhausted from shoveling out. Nice pictures.

Sounds like a very fun adventure for Hobbes! He looks so cute hopping through the deep snow. About 1/2 an hour out in the cold is enough for me too!
