Everyone asks, and no, the kitties don't bug the train or the village. Really. Maybe it's because they are bored with it and spend the day sleeping, or it's the periodic running of the train that spooks the crap out of them---I don't know. Either way, the answer is no, the kitties leave the train and village alone.
Both kitties do enjoy a good nappy under the tree every now and then, though. But amazingly, they don't knock a thing down. Not even the precariously perched herds of reindeer.....or random hobo camps around the back of the tree. Seriously, not a wee cow or tree gets knocked down.
Maybe they just know that I'll go nuts on them and it isn't worth the effort. Hmmm.....
I love when I go into the family room and just see a orange stripey face under the tree. I'm impressed with his ability to maneuver under there without taking down a building or two. You know, if I could fit, I'd hide under there too.
The fascination with the Pope and his pals is always short-lived---especially when you've got a comfy new blankie awaiting.
A big thank you to Anita's Mom who sent over blankies for both kitties this Christmas! They are a HUGE hit with the kitties. Hobbes thinks this one is his mother--a purple mother, no less.

Love the Hobbes photos...
So cute to see him snuggled up on his new blanket! Glad they don't mess with your collections!
That purple blankie is beautiful! Hobbes sets it off nicely.
My cats like batting the little village people around. I still can't find the couple. When I saw Spunky was going to be knocking them off the table on a regular basis, I gave up and removed all the people.
Love the pict of Hobbes under the tree..he looks like cat-zilla! It always amazes me, the agility of cats..
Suspect it is not the train that frightens the kitties, but the train-mistress.
That is a great blanket, and Hobbes looks fully appreciative.
Not only is the blankie comfy and nice. It is also color coordinated with our stripey palley. If I'm wrong about color coordination, please remember that I'm only a guy. :)
I love orange and purple together....Hobbes looks so cute with his little blankie!! :)
That pic of him, under the tree, is priceless!!!!
so what sort of manly collar did he get along with his new blanky? I remember you saying he was wearing a girly one after he lost the bell on his.
Awww...a new blankie for Hobbes. He looks adorable napping ♥
Your kitties are so well behaved! The village and those low hanging lights would be too much too resist around here. The bottom third of our tree isn't decorated for that reason.
Hobbes looks so cozy on that new blankie! The purple is purrfect for him!
This cracked me up. reminded me of one of those old shows.. land of the giants or something along those lines. Can't you just see all the little people freaking out when they see the giant kitty?
But it is amazing isn't it what fascinates? I love villages..
Awwww, how peaceful.
For now....
Purple is a good color for Hobbes.
ps: I would wreck that entire village.
Such a sweet striped face!
Grace--Isn't he lovely on his purple blankie? It's his color.
Liz--Yeah, they don't. Isn't that weird? I thought of you today--we went to see War Horse. I remembered that you saw the premier. Wow. I'm emotionally exhausted!
Karen--Purple is definitely Hobbes' color! I don't know why, but they both left all of the decorations alone this year. And last year too. That's okay with me!
Melodie--Yeah, how he gets in and out of there without knocking over a thing! I just stick my arm in there and everything falls over. Ugh.
Vanilla--We run the train a few times a week and that sort of scares them for some reason. Not intentionally, just for fun, but still--they keep a distance then.
Chuck--No, you are RIGHT! He looks lovely in purple, doesn't he?? It's his color.
A.Marie--And he kneads it like his mother--it's the cutest thing!
blueyes--Oh, he got a replacement peace collar like the one he lost. We couldn't stand the girly one any longer.
Duni--He looks like you could just kiss him--which he does NOT like very much. Sheesh.
Beaded Tail--Neither cat bothers that tree or the other one in the living room. Isn't that weird?
Shauni--Oh, maybe we need some freaked out Asian people under the tree like it is a Godzilla movie! Now, that would be funny!
Pricilla--Maybe it is the weather--he has been going outside a lot because it is so warm this winter. He is too tired to mess with the tree.
Daisy--I think you would do fine under there--until Harley chased you. Then it would be all over!
Lauren--Yeah, but he doesn't want anyone to kiss it. :(
Good boy, Hobbes. I guess the tree and ornaments are no longer as thrilling as being outdoors. He looks pretty attached to his blanket.
It's hard to imagine a cat that leaves your train and tree alone. You must be a special owner.
I think you must be creatively describing (lying) as to how much the kitties knock over. Really.
Cats always find the best hiding place but I'm surprised there was no Godzilla action too.
Love the snuggly blanket picture. Hope he snuggles in for a nice NYE and doesn't get scared by the fireworks!
