I love Hobbes Thursday

I think he knows summer is ending.  The days are getting shorter, the grass is dewy and there has been a little nip in the air in the mornings.  And so, he takes full advantage of what remains, staying outside until he absolutely has to come in.

Hobbes is an outside man. He loves the sun, the rain, how the mulch scratches his back when he rolls on it, and the little mousie that comes to eat birdseed under the feeder.  He enjoys a good long drink from the pond and to poke the frogs--if given half a chance. He'd rather be outside in any weather watching what is going on than to be bored and comfy in the house.

I guess it's the freedom and the fresh air. And you know, I don't blame him. I'm having a hard time saying goodbye to summer and outside too. Goodbye August. Sigh.

It really is getting darker earlier and while I enjoy fall, it's always a little bit of a bummer to see the darkness encircles us so early.

I'm glad he's soaking it all up while he can.

I've noticed the days getting shorter and I'm not pleased with this development at all ;-)

Hobbes, enjoy the great outdoors as long as you can!!! Love that pic :)

Hobbs has a wonderful life! I agree, it's always sad to see summer go bye-bye. The only bright spot is that football season begins!

I can almost hear Hobbes let out a long sigh...

This is my favorite time of year. Warm earth. Cool mornings. Cool evenings. Apple harvest and fresh cider. The earth prepares for winter rest. That's why I like this time best.

I'm savoring every bit because I dread the coming snow and ice.

Goodbye, August. Yes, but let's not say goodbye to summer just yet!
I do enjoy the cooler mornings, though.

If there was real NIP in the air, Hobbes might not mind so much.

It's getting so cold here at night that once again we have cats sleeping under the covers with us at 5am! I'm not ready for fall because it's one step closer to tax season. Ugh!

Hobbes, we love your stripey sweetness!

Violet--Yeah, the darkness gets me too. Makes it extra hard to wake up in the morning.

Duni--I don't like it when its still dark when I get up. Makes me not want to get up at all!

Karen--It's football and Marching Season, Karen. That's my post for tomorrow!! Hooray! (although I can do without the football part.)

Melodie--He is not a happy camper. I bring him in before it gets dark, so he is in EARLY now. He's bummin'.

Chuck--Me too! Although I do not like having to get up for work with this cool air. I just want to sleep and sleep and sleep....

Helene--Yeah, but we have fall in between! I love fall and all the colors.

Vanilla--Summer reared its ugly head today--it was so darn HOT! It's not going down without a fight!

Cute--Hahaha! He does like fall when he can chase leaves around the yard. He just doesn't want to come in so early now that the days are shorter. :(

Grace--I'm with ya, babe. Fall ROCKS!

Anita's Mom--I haven't done a Hobbes Thursday in awhile. I guess he's been boring and not giving me stories to tell.

Daisy--But then he has to be inside all the time, Daisy. Hobbes does not like inside. :(

Pricilla--I'll bet it's snowing by you already! :P

Beaded Tail--Nooo, not tax season already!! Wait--we still have fall to enjoy. Breathe deep, pally. It's a ways off.

Hopefully some summer will stick on sweet Hobbes' fur and he will share it with you once it starts turning colder. ;)
