Weiner Dog Thursday

I made the mistake of leaving the car door open yesterday--guess who's ready to go home?  Sheesh. Like life isn't good here, dog friend??  No sweet words of love and encouragement could budge the Weiner Dog, but two very magical words work every time--"Cat Treat".  Home boy was outta there faster than lightning.

I shared that special trick with my family last night--they were very impressed with my ability to make that dog do what I wanted him to do.

Hobbes has had a rough week as well. For absolutely no reason whatsoever, he's decided that he hates Sammy, so he spends his days out in the garden. And IF he comes in the house, he poufs up his tail like a raccoon and acts all ridiculous.

Just for the record, Sammy could care less about those cats--it is their stinky food he is after. He cared once, a very long time ago, but he learned the hard way that the kitties have claws. He hasn't messed with them since that day. He is a respectful dog.

Grace is funny because, of the two cats, you would think that she would be the one to be more timid around the dog. Nope. Nosirree.  She lets him know who's boss at every turn--including making him walk the long way around her.  It's a darn shame that I have to tell her to be nice to the dog.

Poor Sammy--it has been a long week for the little guy. He'll be here until Sunday, when we'll take him home--and he'll sleep for a week to recover.

He is TOO cute sitting in your car. Poor Sammy.

It is so funny when an animal has to "walk the long way around" to avoid another animal. Well, there'll be a hole in your menagerie when Sammy's gone.

Haha ~ looks like pup just wanted to go for a ride! I'm glad he avoids the kitty claws and I am sure kitties will be glad to have their house back to themselves!

Happy Thursday Lin!

Poor Sammy....thrust into a world of cats!Well, on the bright side where there are cats there are cat treats. In the human world...wouldn't we but up with a little hissing and scratching for some treats in the form of chocolate?!?!

Cat treat always makes my dog jump too. My husband says I have turned him into a cat.

I love that the cats are keeping Sammy in line. They are making sure he knows his place.

My Golden Cinnamon used to sneak into the car, but there were no words to change her mind. So, I would have to start the car and drive her around the block before she would be satisfied and get out.

I'm rooting for the cats. Gonna be a long week.

P.S. Don't feel bad-- my van was always spotless, too. And I had FOUR kids in it! ;) I still can't get over your lawn, though...

Oh poor Sammy! Poor Hobbes and Grace too! Doesn't look like anyone is enjoying this week very much! Sammy is a cutie pie though!

I'm sure Sammy is just saving it up for an ultimate revenge

Poor Hobbes! I hope Sammy is not trying to play with your toys, too!

It's a tough life for a dog who is the same size as the cats.

Helene--I think he was really ready to go home. And I thought we were having fun! :(

Vanilla--Poor Sammy--he walks the "long way" and keeps his eyes diverted. No wonder he's exhausted!

Catherine--Grace popped him today, but he deserved it, he was chasing her. I think Grace is done with her patience. 3 more days! Me--I'm gonna miss him. The kitties--not so much.

Melodie--Don't we? Sort of?? I mean, when I think of what we put up with at work.....

Anne--In his younger days, Sammy would eat the cat food and the cat's would eat his food. Now everybody is on special diets, so dinner is really interesting. Ugh. He gets only 1 little teeny tiny treat now.

Anita's Mom--I love how you humored her! Dogs are so silly, aren't they?

Diana--I've always kept a clean car, but even more so now that nobody rides back there. :( It's kind of sad, actually.

Rebecca--Oh, the cats ALWAYS rule here. I have to tell them to be nice to the dog ALL the time. At least he knows his place--I imagine this could be really crazy if he didn't. Such a polite visitor. The lawn looks good because a) the yard is small and if I'm watering the garden, the grass gets watered too and b)it's been cool and dewy lately. :) Friends say it's like carpet!

peewee--Sammy IS very cute, but Hobbes does not think so. I'm not sure why he is so freaked out with Sammy this time, but he's getting over it. He's a goof.

Betty--Grace doesn't take crud from ANYONE! Yea, Grace!

Beaded Tail--I think they like the change of pace this week actually. Everyone is on their toes. Oh, and I had to move the litter box and the food which is REALLY exciting for the cats. Mix in all the boxes and tubs for Col's college move-in and it's a regular party!

Pricilla--He doesn't though. He is really polite and tries hard not to get them mad. He keeps his little eyes diverted...

Daisy--We have to put the kitty toys up because he chews up the mousies. :(

Sharkey--Yeah, and he can't jump up/down on the bed by himself either. It's not easy having short legs.

I feel sorry for the dog. Hobbes is funny though, probably doesn't like the dog getting his food! Yea for Gracie letting him know who's boss!

Cats and dogs always make for some great entertainment! Well for us anyway, not sure how entertained they are, lol.

Poor Sammy! He's kinda cute for a dog but like I've said before - I'm not a dog person! Eeewwww!

We have a frequent doggy visitor -- a jack russel. Sammy's (my cat) none too thrilled about him ;-)

When I had cats and dogs the dogs didnt care about the cats either - they only wanted to eat poop out of the litter box - they really loved the extra crispy pieces with litter still attached.
