Semi-Wordless Wednesday - Mabel

There is no better mouser or catcher of flying things than she.  Open a car trunk to pack for the weekend, you'll find her in it. Sit by the fire in the backyard and reach down to pet your cat--it's not yours--you can tell by the floofy tail.

Meet Mabel--my neighbor Laura's cat.  She is everywhere and nowhere. She's friendly, but aloof.  She beats the bajeepers out of stray cats, but knows that Hobbes and Grace are off-limits. She walks the 'hood like she owns it and ignores the crabby old lady who yells at her to leave the yard.  You gotta love her, that Mabel.

She is my favorite neighbor. Ever.

Hey Mabel-would you be my neighbor?

I want Mabel to be my neighbor!! I need a good mouser or catcher of flying things! My cats are too lazy; they'd rather just watch the mice and flying things! ;)

Also, Lin, I need you to console me...I just found out that our band didn't get into the U of I competition. Apparently, something happened on their end, and we ended up on some stupid waiting list and we are 4th in line. Our band director is less than pleased...especially since there is some type of fee that the band had to pay, to the U of I, and we won't be getting that back....Yeah Us!

That face says Mabel is not to be messed with. No how. No way. No time. Never!

"Favorite neighbor." I can see that. She just has a regal bearing, hasn't she?

She is certainly beautiful, even tho she has a bit of a scowl on her face.

She definitely has a 'tude. You can see it on her face.

She certainly is beautiful and with beauty comes privilege and entitlement. At least Mabel earns hers...

Mabel sounds like my kind of neighbor! Way better than the Condo Commandos around here.

Daisy--I think she just looks crabby there. She is actually a hoot of a cat!

Catherine--Yeah, and she doesn't hate me. :)

Helene--Do you have any clicky bugs in your yard, Helene?

A.Marie--WHAT?! Why not???! Darn! I was looking forward to meeting up with you again at U of I! :( Big bummer.

Chuck--She OWNS the neighborhood, Chuck. Just ask her.

Melodie--She swings that tail like you would not believe! You pegged her perfectly.

Vanilla--She is hilarious how she just goes and does what ever she pleases. She has a good life....and attitude. :)

Hot Rocks--I think it's just a bad shot of her. She is actually really cute.

Violet--I love how she just walks across the mean old man's yard to get to ours. He hates her and she knows it. Hee! Hee!

Pricilla--Yeah, but it is a good sorta attitude--that's what I like.

Grace--Maybe that is what it is--she knows she is pretty. It's just so funny how she rules the 'hood.

Vanilla Seven--oops. That's Joe's shoes! I'll tell him. :)

Nancy--I've missed ya, Nancy! That Mabel is quite the boss of the 'hood. I always yell "hi" to her when I drive by--and she just looks at me like "whatever". It's hilarious.

Beaded Tail--Yeah, it's the strangest thing--she never beats them up. And they don't love her, but they tolerate her visits, which is really weird. It's like they know she is our friend.

Ann--You sound like Mr. Rogers!! Hahahaha! We have a lot of neighbors who don't like Mabel walking on their lawns and such. Sheesh.

Cute--Mabel is just chill. We should all be so cool about things, you know?

Sharkey--I'll bet she could too. :) She is a tough cookie, but really sweet too. I always laugh when I see her on the mean old lady's front porch, kinda sticking it to her. It's hilarious.
