- avoiding the cats
- drinking fish-flavored pond water
- sniffing around the back 40
- Bark Fest 2011 - where he barks like a fool with the idiot dogs next door
- trying to get to the cat's food (which has been put up high for the week--totally irking the cats)
- trying to get to the cat's litter box (I dunno, I've heard there is something yummy about cat poop to dogs. That too has been blocked off)
- sleeping on our bed (yuck)
- doing that little Weiner Dog Circus Trick where he stands on his hind legs and looks totally cute
- following me around for the entire week (yeah.)
- and sitting in the garage, looking at the car, and wishing he could go home
While I'm not keen on the daily responsibility of a dog full-time, we all look forward to having Sammy here for a visit. We're all be getting our dog fix.
Hobbes--well, he's sick of him already.

Oh well stuff happens.to bad they can't get along like my late German Shepard Cookie and my late kitty RJ did.

I never could understand the attraction dogs have for litter boxes. I had a lab once that would do anything to get to it. YUCK. The worst is when they come to give you puppy kisses and they have litter breath. I DON"T THINK SO BUSTER.
Have fun with Sammy
Sammy is a cutie! Sadie doesn't eat cat food or get in the litter box thankfully but we do have to spell a lot around her. She's so dang smart! Enjoy your week with him!
I tried to have a weiner dog once and our cat didn't come out of the closet for 3 weeks. No more weiner dog. They are cute but so much more work than cats. Good luck!
Mike--Hi, pally! Grace gets along with Sammy, but Hobbes....well...not so much. Hobbes spends a LOT of time outside when he's here.
Pricilla--OMG!! THANK YOU for that link!! Weeeee....Weiner dog. :) Now I'm singing that everywhere. My family would like to thank you.
Ann--My aunt told me that it tastes sweet to dogs. BLECH! Sammy LOVES to stick his nose in the litter and find poopers. And his nose would be covered in litter. It was so gross. Now we have to block off access. The cats are thrilled.
Beaded Tail--Sammy is really a great little dog and we like having him here. Well, everyone but Hobbes. He walks around with a "raccoony" tail and hides outside. He's a big chicken.
Jennifer--Hobbes does not like Sammy here as much as we do, but he'll get used to it. Sammy is really good to the kitties and doesn't bug them--he is a nice houseguest. I agree--dogs are so much more work and that is why we get our dog-fix with Sammy and then let him go home. It's a win-win!
Hilarious! You have to purge your vocabulary for the duration.
Poor Hobbes.
Ha ha...looks like you have your hands full! He sounds like he is very entertaining, and I am sure there will be lots of excitement in the coming week!
Have a great visit, Sammy!
Now, Sammy. Listen to me. You have to look at this week as a vacation. Don't be sad you are away from your humans. You must be your cute self 24/7, so that you get lots of treats and are spoiled rotten.
It is weenie dog adventure week! How fun!
Barkfest 2011! I almost missed it!
I'm sure your cats are crabelated about this visitor. The dog looks homesick.
Vanilla--Hobbes has some new vocabulary this week--I'm not allowed to repeat it.
Hot Rocks--He's a very good boy, but anything he does is a BIG annoyance to the kitties and NOT to their liking. Poor Sammy can't win. I spend the entire week telling the kitties to be nice to him!
Daisy--I think he has fun here sniffing all around the place, but we are not his family--who he misses terribly. Poor little guy!
Kathy--At home, Sammy gets a treat if he poops outside. Here he thinks he gets a treat if he just LOOKS outside! He's such a player. :) His favorite thing is cat food, but now he is older and has a special diet--ruining all the fun of staying at our house. The kitties used to eat his food while he ate theirs. It was hilarious.
Melodie--It's sort of fun having a little visitor. He comes each year and we all wait for Weiner Dog Week.
Betty--Oh, I'll post photos later in the week. It's such fun!
Karen--Crabelated isn't the word!! Hobbes is miffed big time and spends the day outside. And the dog is actually nice to him--go figure. Sammy is very sad that he is not with his family. When we take him home, he doesn't even look at us!! He ignores us completely, like we didn't take care of him for the week.
Didn't see this Saturday. Didn't see much of anything :-( Give ol' Sammy a hug for me. A big hug.
I would lose all respect for hobbes if he even CONSIDERED liking a dog. It's so...so....BENEATH him!
