Fresh from my first Parent Volunteer meeting of 2011-12, I'm learning that I need to be a little less vocal this year. Sigh.
While everyone else is all geared up in orange and brown and talking about installing rainbows, I'm wearing my snappy white capris, tank top, and jewelry, talking about how there is no land available for installation, and maybe a rainbow isn't such a great idea. Has anyone thought of a unicorn? (*cricket* *cricket*)
I'm thinking I don't quite fit in--I'm not good with all that clappin' and back-patting when there is work to be done.Oh well....
So in the spirit of keeping my yapper shut and my spirit light, I'm sharing my latest favorite tune. You can thank Patty--she sent it to me when I mentioned that we were dog-sitting Sammy the Weiner Dog.
Enjoy, Weiner Dog Singers!
Tell me you aren't gonna sing that all day.

That's about the long and short of it...
Oh yes I am..... I'm going to sing this ALL DAY LONG!!!! LOL
That's what I'm tellin' ya.
Did someone tell you to shut up or give you the evil eye?
Oh yeah!!!! I can always count on you for the latest and greatest in music!
I had a similar problem when I was involved with the PTA. In my case, it was too much time in the corporate world. I just wanted to get things done, rather than discuss it endlessly.
Weiner dog, Weiner dog....
I had a wiener dog when I was little. It was called Smudge:)
OK- that was short. I listened. Very cute little wigglers.
the sound on my laptop stinks so I couldn't hear it but there were some cute pictures there.
Daisy--Oh, Daisy, you are so punny!
Di--I like the "Weeeeeeee. Weiner dog." part. I sing that best.
Vanilla--I'll bet you sang it a little....
Violet--They all just sit there and look at me like a bunch of lemmings. You just KNOW when you don't belong. I knew.
Betty--Poor Sammy has to listen to me singing that all week. Poor dog!
Anne--I'm not good at being a cheerleader so that gets me in trouble. While everyone else is spoutin' rainbows and butterflies, I'm asking questions. That doesn't go over well.
Pricilla--Weeeeeeee. Weiner Dog. (That's my favorite part) :)
Mary Ann--Awwww. I'm finding out a lot of people had weiner dogs! They are nice little dogs--especially Sammy.
Sharkey--I figured anyone could give 39 seconds that snappy tune. :) I'm glad you listened. Thanks for humoring me.
Ann--Oh rats. So now you don't know the words when we sing this together?? Bummer.
aaahhhh parental volunteering... today I got nabbed by the "Quick find some people to work the first football concession!" committee. Woo hoo, everybody at that high school's gonna know my face! Should be good for business!
Nope ~ that one won't stick in my head. Now if it was about cats? Yes.... ;)

Haha ~ word verification is 'undog'... too funny!
Lauren--Nuthin' scares away the parents faster than looking for volunteers. Sigh. That was part of the discussion that I disagreed with--they were all getting their volunteer sheets ready for Open House and I suggested just welcoming folks and making them want to come to the school without wanting something from them. They didn't get that. Go Concession Stand!!
Catherine--Look at tomorrow's post for "undog". ;)
I love the weiner dog song. My grandfather had a dachshund and it was so spoiled.
