Kelly is one of my favorite cousins, so it was extra nice to see her so darn happy. You know, that girl just deserves happiness and I think she got it--in the form of a really great guy, Iwan, and 230 of her closest friends and relatives helping her celebrate.
It's the weirdest thing--we have two Ivan's in our family--and we're not even Russian or anything. What is with that???! You know, we are used to the Joe G. vs. Joe K. thing, but when you have to do that with the Ivans---gees, that is odd, isn't it?
Well, maybe not, but I thought it was. How many Ivans do you have in your family?
The kids loved hanging with all the cousins. Em was weary of being introduced to cousin after cousin, but I'm not sure you can ever have enough of those. Short and tall, young and old--there were cousins everywhere.
There was even enough of the younger generation of cousins to take this photo. I like the guy in the front--planking. There is always one jokester in the crowd. Actually, I'm just mad that I didn't think of it first.
This was the first time in years that our entire family was together for an event. Someone called it 'epic'--I'm thinking it was just nuts. Nuts, but fun. Seriously, there were some family members that I have not seen since I was a little girl, so catching up was interesting. And so was trying to explain to my kids who everyone was.
Then someone suggested a family photo, which was pure mayhem. This is just the shot of us organizing everyone before I had to run into the shot for the official photo. And you had to hear this madness while we were attempting to set up--everyone was bossing everyone else around. It was hilarious--typical Zackers, but hilarious just the same. We are a loud bunch.
| Joe, Me, G'ma Phyl--note Joe and G'ma Phyl's color coordination. They are dorks. |
Okay, back to work. My stomach hurts from all the food consumed, my legs hurt from dancing, and my butt is killing me from riding that tricycle down a grassy hill to make the kids laugh. Commence recovery.........

Ha, 230 of her closest friends and family. Sounds like a blast! I haven't been to an extended family gathering in forever, my Gram was the glue that held us all together and she died in 99 so we see each other here and there but not all together.
Love your mom and Joe's color coordination. Seriously, they look too cool for school.
No, no Ivan's in my family - Ivan doesn't tend to be Italian...tho a lot of Italian-Americans name their kid "Ronald" - what's up with that?
Everyone looked gorgeous!
Hey...who invited the referee to the wedding? I thought you said they were happy!
You look gorgeous!
Looks like a fun time for all! Great photo of you, Joe and G'ma Phyl!
Congrats to the happy couple!!
It must have been fun catching up with your extended family members!
You look so stylish in your black dress and pearls :)
No Ivans in our family either, and the weekend disappeared with me playing a new to me game called Angry birds. OmC do not try that game. It is totally addictive, even my Facebook Farm could not entice me away from it.
Oh man, the only way I have seen any of my cousins, or brother, or niece and nephew has been finding them on FB.
You all look great. Em has to be the knockout cousin.
No smart-aleck comments from this quarter. Happiness is s good time, and you had that!
(Not in the family, but two Ivan's in HS. Called one of them "Peabody," which was not his last name.)
I think it should be mandatory that no one should have to work Mondays. All in favor say "I".... "I"....
There... that's settled.... ;)
Happy Monday Lin!

Casey--I think it all comes together with weddings. Even funerals don't really bring everyone together as much. Please don't encourage Joe--he was out of control at the wedding.
Grace--Ronald???! Really??! That is weird. We don't have any Ronald's in our family--but we aren't Italian either.
Diana--It was a Bear's themed wedding, hence the blue and orange and the ref shirts. Good catch, pally!
Pricilla--Thanks, pally! It was fun to get dressed up. We don't do that too often anymore. I think everyone cleaned up nicely.
Beaded Tail--I think it's going to take a few days to recover. My feet are STILL hurting from all the dancing. :)
Duni--We were so surprised to see that everyone was there--well, except for Bill who was at the hotel with the flu. :( Poor Bill. It was really nice to see the bride so happy--she was a very smiley bride.
Ozark Mtn Cats--Oh, I've heard how addictive that game is! Isn't that on your Iphone or something? I may just have to check it out.
Helene--It was nice to have them all in one place to catch up with them. My poor kids were so confused on who belonged to who! I was actually drawing a family tree before the wedding to explain it all. Aren't all families like that though?
Congrats on pulling off the survival feat! Let the healing begin.
That is a gigantic family you have! I think it's so cool that everyone was there, and Kelly is a beautiful bride. I wish her every happiness!
Her dress is loverly and you in the little black dress and pearls...very stylish :)
Hey, I want to see a picture of the tricycle-riding!
I second Daisy's motion for tricycle riding pics.
Not a single Ivan in my family.
My photo observation: Em got another few miles on her homecoming dress. And, you, look fab in your LBD (little black dress).
Vanilla--You don't hear that name too often, do you? Isn't that a weird thing to have 2 in your family?? And they both married in!
Catherine--IIIIIIIIII! It was not such a great day either. :(
Chuck--Oooohhh, my tummy! All that food and drinks we don't usually have. Owie!
Violet--She's the greatest gal, so we were very happy for her. I'm glad everyone was there for her. :)
Mary Ann--It was fun to dress up and go out! We don't dress up very often anymore. Did you like my Wilma Flinstone necklace??! Hahaha!
Daisy--Nobody got a shot of it!!! I'm soooo mad. Arrrgggh. And I did it with WHITE pants on too! Talk about brave and flirting with disaster!! :O
Ann--NONE! NOT ONE shot of me going down that hill! :( Bummer. I did it 3 times....in WHITE pants too!! Sorry about the lack of Ivan's in your family.
Jodi--Good eye, Jodi!! Joe actually asked if she was going to wear the prom dress!! (boys!!) At least we got a few more miles out of the homecoming dress! :)
Nope, no Ivan's in my family either. I'd be surprised if any black family had an Ivan. Well, I guess he could marry in. Be adopted. Or a step-kid, -dad, -uncle... LOL. Okay, enough of that.
What fun to see everyone on such a wonderful occasion. The bride looks so happy.
And, I must say, who is that hot lady in the last photo? The one rocking that sexy black dress? Could that be Lin? My gosh woman, you look younger every time I see you. :-D ... (BTW: I can be bribed -PAID- to say that in front of a lot of people!)
Who's that great looking gal in black with the pearl necklace?
Petula--Our Ivans married in, so you may get yourself an Ivan someday too, Petula. You never know!
Veronica--Oh, I love you guys! Hahaha! Everyone looked so nice getting all dressed up. We seldom do that anymore. Amazing what a little make-up does for a gal! ;)
Goodness gracious! No wonder your clan is doubling up on Ivan's. Can't say that we have even a single Ivan to our name. Bob's? Yes. Almost every man is named Bob in our family. And there are 3 Nancy's. But thats not unusual.
Glad you had a great weekend with the fam!
