I'm trying to be crabby....

really, I am.

I mean, I have this stupid ugly boot/shoe thing that I have to wear everywhere. And then I have to wear on the other foot a shoe that is the same height so I don't wobble. Ugh. So, after trying all my cute sandally summer shoes, I only have one icky old sandal that will work. Sigh.  I'm doomed to be butt ugly from the knee down this summer.

I can't walk or ride my bike because of .....well....said hurty foot.  And with all these parties I'm going to, my body is craving some exercise to work off the calories consumed. Oh, it would be nice to have my shorts not be so snug.

There is also a new guy at work that is a total tool. With a capital "T". Hate him.  I don't like going in to work anymore--not even with Irene there to try to make it better.  This makes me crabby....a lot. And it gives me a stomachache to pull into the lot at work.

But then, I see Hobbes drinking from the pond and I'm not so crabby anymore.  I wonder if the water tastes like frogs. Or fish. And why, with all the water bowls and electronic bubblers in the house, does the water taste so much better out in the yard, where he is free to roam.

And then my pally, Chuck, sends me this to make me laugh....

not knowing that I'm trying to be crabby.

And then, I'm not.  I'm not crabby.   It's not even worth the effort trying to be.  And the stupid ugly boot/shoe thing is actually making my foot feel better.

Sigh.

Ain't it true. Whenever down in the dumps, go watch the cats or donkeys in our case. Nothing better than animals in your life. That picture is hysterical. Take care. Hug the kitties.

Sorry you hurt your foot and hope that guy at work becomes less irritable for you. Our pets always manage to cheer us up though--everyone should have at least one pet!

Like I said before...you need to bedazzle that foot boot!

Water exercise??

At this very moment, I am wearing a baseball cap I bought last year in Norfolk. It has a big red crab on the front and says "Don't bother me. I'm crabby." I love it so.

I hope your hurty foot isn't hurty all summer long. But if it is, orange stripey goodness will make more better.

Sorry about the Tool. There's always one.

Woot-woo! Leave it to that Chuck and his computer gadgets. Well, it is good to have folks and cats in your life who make the crabby go away.

awwww Lin...you are too nice to ever really be crabby! You look very cute as a Vegas entertainer!

How can you be crabby when you're a street dancer in Rio de Janeiro's carnival parade?

I do hope the foot gets better soon.

Nice photo, Lin!!! You have a very shapely.... smile.... yeah.

My cats are the same. My cat Fuzzy disses the fresh stuff and prefers to slurp from the sump pump well. :-p

Why is he sending you my picture?

Have you ever tasted frog-water? It's delicious!

I must have missed your ouchy post! Sorry to hear you have to wear da boot. Have you at least bedazzled it?

I meant to say why did he paste your face to my body? Not that I mind,...

Sherpa drinks the chicken water. I don't even want to tell you what is in that....

Ummm looks like your shorts being snug shouldn't be a problem on that bod :-) Ok so its not yours but still--stare at it a big. What's that saying? As a man thinkith....

You have more than enough cute from the knee up to make up for the ugly boot/shoe thing from the knee down! Hobbes always makes us happy too!

I think you should make a "disapproving drew disapproves" button for him. just wear it around him :)

Hi Lin, you make me smile when you write you are trying to be crabby. Just concentrate on being glamorous from the knees up, and now I am wondering how that pond water tastes too.

Sorry you're crabby! Good thing Hobbes is a character and can make you laugh.

stupid errors, I'm going to try one more time.
At least the ugly boot thingy gives you and excuse for the tight shorts. Can I borrow it when you're finished so I have an excuse too :)

It's so hard to be patient, isn't it? I'm glad your pally sent you that funny pic. It IS funny!

Oh my goodness - I saw that picture and thought it was you and then read on and thought - wow, she broke her foot dancing?

And in that?

It took me a while to catch up....sigh

That was stare a "bit" not big. Ugh I can't see first thing in the morning.

I'm working on Red Cat Soc. I haven't had any pics to use. Didn't want you to think I am ignoring the two msgs I got-thanks :-)

I empathize with you and your ugly boot. I think they're ugly too. You can fantasize about what you're going to wear when the foot comes off.

Meanwhile, take good care of your feet. Those boots start to get cruddy after a while. Sweetly scented foot powder might help.

Marg--Thank goodness for the animals! I like them better than humans most days. But then again, I like the pallies here too. They are good humans who make me laugh.

Karen--There is always one at work. But lately, we've got more than our share. Ugh. I'm glad I have a nice family and kitties to come home to! Thank goodness I'm only part-time. :)

Diana--I know. I need rhinestones. :) I like the pool idea!

Lin said...

Kathy--Oh, I am very jealous of your hat!! I need one of those! I only have 4 weeks of this shoe and I feel better, so I think I will survive. But it will be a LONG 4 weeks of ugly shoes. :(

Vanilla--I had a good laugh over that photo from Chuck. Can't be crabby with the pallies around. :)

Hot Rocks--I'm not that nice. :P Did you notice how big my hands are in that photo??! It's kinda freaky!

Chuck--Dang! I look GREAT in that costume, don't I? Hahahaha! Thanks for the laugh, Chuck. Oops. I forgot to link you today. I'm sorry!

Rebecca--The sump pump???! BLECH!

Betty--Do you have a matching outfit, Betty?? Maybe we could put on a show! Yeah, I fractured my foot a few weeks ago. I have NO idea how! :)

Pricilla--YUCK!! I don't want to even think what is in chicken water. Somehow I'm thinking it's not good.

Helene--I WISH I had that bod!

Grace--Well, not always, but my crabbiness was short-lived....just this once. :)

Beaded Tail--And that is why you are my pally!! :) Nothing like a cat or dog friend to make you smile again.

Peewee--HI, PALLY!! Glad you are back! sigh. That Drew is still dreamy--even when he disapproves. ;)

Terra--I'm thinking that pond tastes like drinking out of the hose when we were kids. It tastes of freedom. :)

Chocolate--Between Hobbes and the pallies--life is good.

Ann--It's a combination of menopause and the boot. I have LOTS of excuses.

Violet--Chuck finds the funniest stuff for me. Funny how he knew I was crabby. :)

Tracy--Thanks for thinking that was me, Tracy. Even if it was for one millisecond--I love you! Yeah, I hurt my foot weeks ago. Turns out it was fractured. Go figure.

Helene--Just follow the link to belong. You can always post later on.

Marilynne--Thanks for the suggestion about the powder. I have been wearing a sock and being extra careful not to get it wet or too dirty. 4 weeks is gonna be a long time! It's not hard to put the boot on because it is making my foot feel better already.

When we are crabby at work a friend and I say "I'm so crabby I can't even stand being around myself!" Well... sometimes we just have those kinds of days. And that's OK. Just go with it. ;)

Hobbes drinking in the pond is a captured moment. :D

Well, that of photos of yours made me smile. :)

Hobbes fixes everything!

No problems on the missing link. :)
That's a great looking tan you have.
No need to be crabby if you're wearing that, no one is looking at the boot on your foot.

Nancy said...

Maybe you can just take the hints and go shoe shopping. Do they let you buy just the one shoe? ;)

Sharkbytes (TM) said...

Pretty fancy dancin' with that bad footy booty thing.

Lin said...

Catherine--I think just stating that you are crabby is a good thing. It sorta keeps the riff-raff away. Everyone is entitled, right?

Jodi--Yeah, a dancer's body. Dancing is my life, you know. Well, that and band.

Ratty--:) He's so goofy--you can't stay mad when you live with Hobbes.

Zach--Yeah, I'm so hot in that photo that Hobbes had to take a drink! Hahaha!

DG--Well, that and vodka. ;)

Chuck--Yeah, but it is HARD to dance while I'm wearing that boot! Darn.

Nancy--Hmmmmm. I wonder? I've been wearing some other shoes, but it makes my back hurt from wobbling. Oh well, 1 week down, 3 to go. I can make it!!

Sharkey--Yeah, but I can still shake it. Dancing is my life. ;)

Casey said...

Grrr, sorry you (were) crabby but I hope the happiness sticks. I love the picture of you in that crazy hat, damn do you look good!

There is a tool in every workplace, usually several. You and Irene need to make a game out of mocking him.

Lin said...

Casey--Yeah, my body is really good now that I've started that salsa dance class. I LOVE the costumes too. It's a shame my face gives away my age. Sigh. We've got a couple now and Irene is making nice-nice with them. :( I think I'm on my own in this one.
