I-Love-Hobbes-Thursday - Wishful Thinking

I noticed the bird feeder was suspiciously empty the other evening.
(Don't look at my neighbor's icky bushes, okay?)

Hmmmmm.....

Yeah. Just what I thought.

Apparently the birds are onto a certain orange stripey who thinks
he is invisible--when in actuality,
he is ottoman-sized.

The burning question has to be, was it His Stripeyness or a lack of food in the feeder? Just asking . . .

LOL! Hobbes should have picked the bigger bush to hide in ;-)

Cats are too funny - I love their "I can't see you so therefore you can't see me" theory.

Yeah....that's the problem with being an orange cat, you don't camouflage in to well with the green plants!

And not to mention ORANGE!!!! Hehehe.

Poor guy thinks he's invisible! You should get him a disguise...

He really cracks me up :) You have to love Hobbes!!

We had a feeder like that and the squirrels destroyed it...chewed it to bits they did...rotten things.

Oh hello Hobbes:) Didn't see you there. Heehee.

Maybe the birds just weren't hungry at the moment because it surely can't be Hobbes fault they aren't at the feeder! He's not even there. At least we can't see him.

LOL! It's chamo kitty!!

Chuck--Nope--feeder was full. If it was empty, it would be no fun to sit under! ;) I heard all the birds yelling--that's how I found out he was under there.

Duni--Is there a bush big enough to hide him???

Grace--Hobbes has no idea that he is big AND orange!

Tracy--Not always.

Hot Rocks--There isn't much he camos with!

Nancy--Yeah, I think that is what gives him away. Birds are apparently not colorblind.

Casey--He has no idea that everyone can see him. Even the neighbor tells him "I see you!" when he goes into his yard.

Betty--Don't cover for him, Betty.

Stephanie--He is very silly, that cat. It's good to be Hobbes.

Mary Ann--I don't have a problem with the squirrels for some reason. They come here to eat, but they aren't a menace. My raccoons were worse last year.

Beaded Tail--Hahaha! I think he was waiting for one to fall in his mouth! :)

Lynne--Yeah, he's hilarious. Ugh.

Well, most critters are smart enough to not bait a lion in his den!

I thought he had regressed to pillow sized on his diet

Lin said...

Sharkey--I wasn't sure if birdies were colorblind, but I guess this gives me my answer, eh?

Pricilla--Well, he's sort of a large footstool at this point. :)

Are you sure Hobbes wasn't just....doing his business?

Pretty Hostas!

LOL ~ oh sweet Hobbes! How cute you are trying to had behind the plants. Well you can't blame a guy for trying!!

Jean--Hahaha! I'm not asking! :O

Catherine--It's funny, but he never brings anything home. Oh wait--I think he got a mouse last year. Never a bird though. I don't think he's hungry enough!

Jake (my dog) sometimes goes grazing under the bird feeder. The birds throw birdseed down on him.

I had to explain to the vet that it wasn't unusual bugs of some sort under his fur, it was those round yellow seeds that my birds hate to eat so they just toss them off the feeder.

Marilynne--That is SO funny!! Poor dog!

I would like to borrow Hobbes for a while! You see, while your issue is a lack of bird watching, I am sittng here on the other side of the river watching squirrels destroy my landscaping. SOBs ate all the blooms off my gerber daisies. They dig to the roots of all the plants and flowers in the neighborhood...and I am left feeling postal, dreaming of running over squirrels with my truck.

Dear Hobbes-
Will you come over to play?

Lin said...

Jodi--Darn things! Here is my theory on squirrels--I think you have to feed them. I swear those little guys know when someone doesn't want them around. Me--I don't mind them and I let them eat away. They don't bother my flowers or chew stuff up on me. But I think the cats help a bit too. ;)
