Everything and Nuthin'

Just some thoughts for these days:

  • Uh, is anyone else not wanting to be on the computer like me? I'm finding all sorts of things I'd rather be doing like sitting out in the grass with the kitties or reading.
  • Here's the weather forecast here lately:  98 degrees, tornadoes, 68 degrees. Repeat. It's just weird.
  • With all the power outages and flooding here yesterday, driving anywhere felt like a bad dream where I was running and going nowhere. Of course, that was my day to run errands. Ugh.
  • With Jim being gone now, work isn't half as much fun. There are some new hires that are just plain weird. Good stuff rarely lasts.
  • I have 3 parties to go to this weekend. Could we not spread them out over those dry spells when we have nothing to do?
  • I am obsessed with the soapwort and campanula that are in my garden--the color combination is SWEET. (see photo)
  • Why does it take so little to make me happy?  I spied a baby snail in the pond the other night--gees, you'd think I found a gold bar in there.
  • Got our cell phone bill the other day. Texting totals on our phones for the month were as follows: 201, 222, 401, and 12,910.  Guess who has the most texts?  (Hint: if you guess Joe, you are wrong)
  • I would like to be on vacation right now.
What's going on with you?

Hey, Happy Weekend, pallies!!  I wish for you some time to chill, take some time off the computer, and to go commune with Mother Nature a bit.  She is finally here in full-bloom, wearing lovely skirts of pale pinks, lavender and yellow.  Dang, it is good to see her again, even if she is a tad volatile and bit temperamental  as of late.

12,910 wow and I thought my son's at over 4,000 was something. But he is 32 so he must be mellowing.

Aren't we supposed to be going trick or treating today or something?? We had 3 days of summer and now....
Baby snail? Too cute.
Graduation ceremony tomorrow. Then 1 more week to go.

Happy weekend of partying.

You, Ma'am, are one of the fortunate ones who have "figured it out." You see beauty and entertainment in the circumstances in which you find yourself. Some sorry souls are possessed of a spirit of discontent, and are never happy with anything.

Yeah, I would like to be on vacation now too. It is really crazy hot here but no tornadoes thankfully. Let's ditch this popsicle stand and head to Jamaica:)

Those are pretty little flowers...(took me awhile to come up with a cheery comment).

Hi Lin! We just took a short trip back to my hometown to visit the old folks - not exactly the kind of vacation I have in mind, you know, the sun and sea kind.

Enjoy your weekend of partying!!

I love that you like simple things. That is why you come by my blog. I am sure of it.

Enjoy the weekend!

No, really, who is the texting maniac?

Pricilla said...

I have never sent a text.

I am going to start texting you every 5 mins so that you can get more than 222!

It's fun to go on a garden walk each morning to see what flowers have bloomed for that day. That's why I love spring the best. With a bit of sun and a good book, what a great place to be. Enjoy your parties, the weekend is supposed to be sunny and fine! Phyl

I'm with you...I find myself having to offer myself little rewards to get my usual work done. I.e. -" Ok, if you drop 100 ec then you can have a piece of chocolate" etc. And if I go swimming in the am? Forget it! I'm gonna find a way to sneak out of it!

12,000+ that's quite a feat. Is the winner Em???

Please don't talk about the weather. We have had serious storms the last few days. Ridiculous except the lightening was wonderful:) I planted some annuals and then it hailed....grape size hail...eeek. It has gone from torrid heat to chill...I am presently wearing a sweater. Ah well:) My little plants have picked up their little battered selves and seem to be doing well:)

Lin, the flowers are gorgeous! We are so much alike. I find that I get excited over a spotted slug slithering around in the parking lot. I see joy and excitement everywhere. Have a good weekend!

I am willing to trade you one baby snail for a bazillion of my cicadas.

Lovely flowers! I always think that going outside to the grass or woods is good for whatever ails- you know that.

Beautiful blossoms. I'd rather not be here on this computer, but how can I read your words of wisdom and insight and how can I get my Hobbes fix for the day? Great news on the snail.

Not much time for the computer here either these days. Way too many other things to do!

12,910 texts? Our totals were 0 and 0!

That is some wacky weather for sure. Hopefully the tornadoes stay far away from you guys.

Hahah, Em's texting is INSANE. And insanely awesome, you can tell her I approve.

I haven't had time to be on the computer this week since the kids were out of school. We're leaving in the morning for our 2nd Disney trip and won't be back until Wed. WISH.ME.LUCK.

Have a great weekend, Lin!

Helene--This weather is CRAZY, isn't it?? Congratulations on your graduation, pally!

Vanilla--Too many people are like that, Vanilla. They seem to enjoy being down. I say you have to be happy about the little stuff because if you wait for the big stuff, you'll be waiting a long time. :)

Jennifer--I just want to be off work and doing what I want to do and not what I HAVE to do. Oh, and I want to sleep in late too. :)

Grace--Hee! Hee! I like the WV and your spin on it. :) You crack me up, Grace.

Veronica--Oh, it's nice to get away though, isn't it?

Betty--I think you and I think a lot alike. :) Do I really have to tell you it is the teen daughter who is racking up the text totals??

Pricilla--I have never sent as many as Emma! I wonder what silly stuff they are all about?

Diana--No thanks! Not that I wouldn't love to hear from ya or anything....

Phyl--I can't wait for this weekend! Lots of good parties with lots of good friends! Hooray!

Rebecca--Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too.

Nancy--Are you still doing EC?? Sheesh, that's crazy and too much work. I can't get through my blogroll--not that I don't want to read all those great blogs--I just want to be outside! Yep--you guessed the Mad Texter!

Mary Ann--That is what we have going on! My poor plants don't know what to do--bloom or die!

Tracy--I think so. Hey, if we wait for the big stuff, we'll be waiting FOREVER. Kids--sheesh.

Chocolate--I like the slug's little silvery trail that glistens in the sun. I know that it's gross to some people, but I like that and their little antennas. :)

Jodi--Oh, my frogs would LOVE the cicadas!! We used to catch them and toss them to the frogs to eat! YUM!

Sharkey--Yep. I'm with ya, Sharkey! I'm having a hard time going in and turning on anything electronic these days. Problem is that I miss all those great blogs like yours!

Chuck--It's tough! I am really missing all my favorite blogs and such, but I just want to chill on the patio these days. I guess that isn't all bad, right?

Beaded Tail--Whew! I'm glad that it isn't just me! Can we all just take a week off and not feel guilty about it??? :)

Casey--She can text without even looking--that's CRAZY! She is so damn proud of that total too. Sigh. Hey, have fun at Disney!!

Jean--Oh good, so it isn't just me?? I feel so guilty not getting around to all of my favorite blogs though. Not enough hours in the day. :( Yeah, we don't pay for that texting or she wouldn't be racking up the numbers like that!! It's insane.

So you want to know what's happening in the Ozarks?!... Lets see 98+, rain, thunder lightning, so far no tornados, on the good side my quirky little fabric store/dime store got a new shipment of henry glass fabric. This place is in a time warp with most fabric 1.49 a yard and the "good" fabric is 2.99. I don't know how the owner does it but he gets HG fabric BEFORE the big stores gets it. This weeks fabric was for christmas and halloween. Both adoreable never before seen prints. Be sure to sign up for Christmas in July over on CB, you might get a halloween cat quilt. Yes the 3.00 fabric has cats on it. Can you say Heaven in the Ozarks?

I'm easily entertained myself. It doesn't take much but it's all good because I get to see my husband roll his eyes.
I'm betting that either one of my kids could probably match that text count. My son was here the other day and I don't think his phone stopped once.
