And this is where you'll find me....

Unless the weather is against us, Grace and I can be found out on the chairs each night.  There we sit, me on one chair, Grace on the one directly across from me.  Hobbes.....well.....he's usually sitting on the fence or in the mulch, pretending that we aren't there ruining his fun.

Grace isn't much for cuddling and she certainly wouldn't be caught dead on my lap, but she does like to be with me.  She follows me around the yard and settles in when I do.  We're buddies, she and I.

And see my piggies there in the lower part of the photo? One of those bad boys is now stuck in a very non-attractive "shoe" from the orthopedic doctor.  Yep--the foot ended up having a stress fracture. How it happened I do not know, but after hobbling around for 4 weeks, I finally broke down and went to have it checked out.

Sigh. So now I have this beastly shoe that does not go with anything I wear AND it is not very cute.  (frowny face)  But that said, I really do want to want to be able to go for walks this summer and do things like wear my snappy new sandals and walk without pain.  I'm thinking that might be a good thing.

Happy weekend, pallies!  Go give your dad a hug this weekend and if you are a dad, I hope you have a great Father's Day!  I also want to give a shout out to Anita's Mom, who is celebrating a birthday today!! Happy Birthday, pally!

Oh, if you are looking for me, I'll be in the back.

Yep those fracture boot things are no fun. But they do help you walk with less pain. Feel better

Grace is elegant. She wouldn't be socializing with Hobbes in his jungle.

I'm thinking a hot glue gun & some pretty embellishments might give that ortho-foot some BLING!

Hope the foot heals fast...nothing worse than ugly shoes....except ONE ugly shoe! Put a pretty anklet on, that will prove that you are still very cool. Happy weekend!

Nice shade of lavender. My second thought was, I wonder if she got the foot fixed. Then you told us. Surely hopes it heals quickly.

That is one gorgeous lawn! I think Diana has a great idea - bling that sucker up you might start a whole new trend! Feel better sooner!

Sorry about your foot!

I am a true-blue lap cat, I will sit for hours in my Mommeh's lap. Harley tries, but he is too big and he usually runs off after about 3 minutes.

Oh you lucky girls ~ sitting in chairs relaxing in the warmth. Yup ~ that sounds like a perfect way to spend an evening!

Sorry about your sore foot!

That is a very funny picture! It should be the inspiration for a flash fiction. Hope your food is good soon. Stupid stress fractures are annoying.

oops... foot- although I also hope your food is good!

It's nice Grace joins you in the yard but I'm glad Manny comes right on me. Spunky is more like Grace though--likes to be close by but out of reach.

Grace is definitely sitting pretty in her chair. Looks like there's an extra chair next to you... I'm sending Pimp and Moo over for the party!

Helene--While it is butt-ugly, it does help. But I'm tired--really tired. I think from having to walk differently with it on. I sure hope it helps.

Diana--I may have to try that. Then I will have a snappy ortho shoe that makes EVERYONE jealous!

Hot Rocks--I like that idea! Nothing like capris with this stupid shoe. Ugh. I'm thinking some cute socks may just be the answer! Thank you!

Vanilla--Yeah, I've got a hurty foot.....still. :( Hopefully this will help.

Chuck--:) You never let me down, Chuck.

Anita's Mom--Well, Joe isn't all that wonderful, Marie. ;) Hee! Hee! Happy birthday to you, pally!

Nancy--Yeah, hurty foot is not fun. :( But hopefully, I will be up and running in no time! Happy weekend to you, Newly Engaged Girlie! ;)

Grace--I don't mind the shoe if it makes this better. Already the swelling is down, so I think it is going to work. I hope so.

Stacie--Work sucks. I wanna figure out how to sit out in the yard AND get paid. :)

Beaded Tail--I think my foot would feel a lot better if I could just sit out there with Grace all day and not have to work. :) I will suggest that to my boss.

Daisy--Somehow, Daisy, I figured you were Mommeh's gal too. Now, Hobbes likes to sit on my chest when he first wakes up in the morning. Thank goodness he lost weight because it HURTS really, really bad!

Catherine--Thanks, pally. Grace and I like to just relax out there, watching the birdies and the butterflies. I wish we had more time to enjoy the outside.

Sharkey--It's so funny how she won't sit with me, but she will sit in the chair across from me. She is very silly, that Grace. I'm guessing you've had stress fractures too, eh? It sure hurts.

Karen--Both of my kitties like to be near, but not touching me. Hobbes loves a cuddle in the morning, but that is about it. I never get lap cats for some reason!

Cute--Bring 'em over!! There are lots of birds to watch and even a hummingbird or two that buzz us. Sometimes the butterflies come and sit on our heads too! I think Pimp and Moo would find this all very exciting.

I just realized I've read and enjoyed all but one of your favorite books. No wonder I keep coming back to your blog.

I hope that shoe does its job and you're back walking and having a good time.

My many cats and I sit outside at night too and enjoy being together. We don't do laps either, well maybe one of two of us do. Hope that boot helps your foot get better. What a pain. Hope you have a great week end.

It will. I fractured my foot 2 1/2 years ago by stepping on a piece of broken curb and kicking it away. That was a Saturday evening and I didn't think much of it but by Monday I was in so much pain it curtailed my McD's morning trips cos it hurt to walk to the car. Now THAT'S pain :-) It was interesting taking the dog around the block trying to walk with it. But since it took so much pain away when I used it, I wore it awhile. I had never had pain like that. Think of it as one half of a pair of snappy new sandals :-)Decorate it. Let Em decorate it :-)

Marilynne--Which book did you miss? I'm curious. Isn't it funny how much we all have in common when you start compare notes? The shoe is working already. :)

Marg--I swear the cats think the birds will laugh at them if they sit on my lap. :0

Helene--It's working already! The swelling is down and while using it makes me really tired, it helps with the pain too. Note: It does not look cute with capris. :(

Just trying to keep a smile on your face. :)

Yep I think some decorating on that shoe is in order. Enjoy your weekend with Grace

Oh no, you have the boot. For some reason my brain was thinking Hobbes had one on... duh. Okay, that is no fun in the summer. Hope it heals fast!
