Rapture--Duck and Wheel Style

"So what exactly is 'rapture'?" Em asks.

And Joe explains between mouthfuls of dinner, "It's the day Jesus comes back to Earth, Em. And the truly good people--those who are going to heaven--get called on that day.  Those who are not chosen are left on Earth."  (I think he even says some of that with food in his mouth--much to my, and his mother's chagrin.

Col chimes in "You know, HELL, Emma."

"Yep. Hell on Earth.  Which is pretty much what we got going anyway." Joe laughs.

"Well, I guess I'm not going anywhere today" I say.

And we didn't--we all ate our breakfast on the patio by the pond this morning.  We enjoyed the company of the hummingbird and the frogs, and even the fish came up to enjoy the warm sunshine on their backs.  Hobbes lay under the chair in the lawn and chattered at the birdies overhead.

If this is hell, I'll take it.

I thought long and hard about this Rapture business and decided since my oldest says he doesn't currently believe in God, I really can't go anywhere. I'm pretty sure God will understand.

I wonder what the doomsday people were doing this morning? Certainly not enjoying it as y'all were.

My body is too achy to flap those wings around Heaven. I'll leave it to those beautiful birds in my yard for now. Phyl

Even way back when I was in school and we were choosing up sides for games, I always got picked last. I knew I wasn't going anywhere. Just in case though, we had dinner a little early last night.

Ann might be my PE reject soulmate...which is why I skipped dinner all together after sitting at winery with a bottle and a loaf of bread waiting for Jesus to come take up in the skies. Oh well, maybe next time.

That is definitely heaven on earth to be able to spend that time together, listening to the birds and the frogs and Hobbes chattering away.

Lotta folks talking about that today--mostly laughing about it. I heard things like, "Oh, I see you got left behind too."

I am thinking that maybe here is best since most folks I know are still here...

Lauren--Yeah, I'm sure there are gonna be more than a few left on this earth to hang out with.

Grace--I guess it is a good thing NOT to know when your last day is. I'd hate to spend it frettin'.

Phyl--Hey, who said anything about flappin' our wings???! Heck, I'm not getting there that way.

Ann--I think I was picked last too as I grew up with all boys. Nobody wanted me on their team. It just continued in school too. Sigh. All those people just didn't know how great we are, Ann.

Jodi--I like the idea of chilling at the winery until he comes. Then if he doesn't come, you'd be too loaded to care!

Chocolate--Yeah, I'm not sure it gets better than that. If it does, I don't think I need it as I'm sorta happy this way.

Chuck--Hahaha! I like that. I wonder how all those "believers" felt today. Do they think they are sinners now?

Pricilla--Yeah. I think that too. :)

Haha- I went to a wedding on the 21st. And no one went anywhere. It'd be weird to say you got married on the day some crazy guy said the world would end.

The boys wanna thank you for visiting their fan page for Hammie! You rock, Aunty Lin!

Nancy--When did this guy come up with this date? I just heard about it this week, so I couldn't make any major plans for the end of the world. I had to just ride it out like it came.....or didn't.

Veronica--Oh, I feel sooo bad! I love those little hamsters so darn much! I cry really, really hard when they die, so I can't get anymore. It's just too darn sad. I hope the boys are dealing with it okay. I think you need to get an orange stripey kitty now...
