Lately, whenever I look out into the yard, I can find my 47 lbs of Stripey Goodness lounging wherever--by the fence, under the hostas, in the mulch, or by the pond.
And he's so comfortable out there that he almost looks dead. In fact I think have asked Joe to check him--because he really does look dead. Cats don't sleep like this normally. But then again, Hobbes isn't a "normal" cat, right?
We should all be living La Vida Hobbes.

LOL, its the sound of the water that's zonking him out :)
That Hobbes is one smart kitty. He truly does know how to live the good life!!
xo Catherine
Ricky Martin has been singing it wrong all these years!!!!!!!!
Hahah! I felt like that in the sun/ pool yesterday too! Once the weather starts getting warm, it's really hard not to be happy as a fat kitty on your back in the mulch, huh?
Well, I try to live that way; but there are just so darn many chores...
Oh handsome Hobbes. That place is so made for napping. I'd love to join you buddy.
I dunno, I think Hobbes might be forty-EIGHT pounds of indolence!
The lucky sod.
Of course he is. Cats are just a lot more interesting than most people. I had a cat who slept on his back with his legs in the air like a dead cockroach...I used to poke him to make sure he wasn't dead.
He really does take his relaxing seriously!
I would say Hobbes is anything but normal. He's one extraordinary feline and a pretty cool cat too :)
Priceless.
Hobbes is the bestest yard art ever!
I love that cat. He is a confident kitty to sleep on his back and expose his belly to the elements.
Wish I could nap like that... anywhere, anytime... ahh the life of Hobbes. :-)
Magick sleeps like that, but I can tell you he would be way jealous of Hobbes' back yard. Hobbes has the life! Talk about the perfect spot to sunbathe! Lucky kitty!
We had a hard time finding him in that picture. I guess he just wanted a nap by the pool.
... and less than a week after you post this, the weather turns all winter-y again... poor Hobbes, I hope he took in enough sun to make up for the ickky weather that I assume you're having up there in Chicagoland that's afflicting us here in Springfield.
p/s: it's a boy! :) more details will be blogged, once I find the time. We're still shopping for a crib!!!??! :p
Maybe it's a red cat thing? Tubby Mr. Red Kitty lays on his back just like Hobbs!
