Shhhhhh. Can you hear it? It's the grass--you can hear it growing with all the rain we've been having.
And the plants in the garden--they went from mere sprouts to leafed out in hours. It's like they lie in wait for a bit of warmth and some rain-filled days and then count to10 and all pop up together. How do they do that? Are they all under the earth counting?
And while the rest of the folks are bemoaning the lack of sunshine, I'm secretly glad because if it heats up, we are gonna need a cow for the lawn. Sheesh. And it's just gonna add outside work to my list of things that need to be done these days.
Oh, and Happy Easter, pallies.
Doesn't it seem that Easter isn't as big as it used to be when we were kids? Remember Easter dresses, suits, new white hats and gloves, and shoes that pinched your feet? We used to all get dressed up and go to G'ma's house and eat ham--do folks still do that? We have a nice dinner, but none of us dress up anymore. Good thing because I hated that elastic on the hats that went around my chin--it would itch the living bajeepers out of me.
So, enjoy your day with your families. I wish you sunshine and the ability to go outside and check the garden without freezing to death or getting blown away by tornadoes and such. And may the Easter Bunny bring you good things in your basket!

Now we are talking! Spring! What a great photo.
I miss the big deal Easter used to be.
In answer to your question this morning as to if I worry about those ducks. Yes. Yes. and Yes.
I like your Daisy - love the yellow. (my ivy is still dead..)
Love the photo, Lin.
Happy Easter!!
Love that picture. Nothing better than the Spring flowers. We have some of those around here too. And our grass is growing and growing and so Mom is mowing and mowing. Happy Easter to all of you. Have a fun week end.
Goats are far more efficient.....
Happy Easter. I always love my new Easter dress.
Our lawn and beds are inundated with thistle! Where is Eyeore when I need him? I pulled piles of the stuff out yesterday and I know I missed a lot. Oh well, just keeps me outdoors!
Happy Easter to you and your family, hope you get to enjoy a day filled with sunshine and relaxation!
Around here it's just the sound of lawn mowers I hear but oh I do love that fresh cut grass smell! It's so fun to see the growth progress every day of the plants and how the leaves are almost all the way out. I love Spring!
Happy Easter to you and your family!
I sure hated the dressing up part, but it WAS a big deal. Special hymns, the start of summer clothes, nice meal. We do none of that any more.
Easter is not the big deal it used to be. You can't even buy those little bonnets and purses we used to wear to church anymore.
I sort of miss the big deal that we used to make at Easter time. Of course I agree with you about that pinchy elastic on the hat :)
It is amazing how this time of year it can just magically transform over night from brown and dead to green and growing gloriously
Have a happy Easter
Betty--One year, we had a little duckling in our front yard, all by himself--no mom, no dad, no brothers and sisters. Dang, if those kinds of guys don't always find my house. Ugh. I shooed him along towards the end of the block where the creek was. I always wonder what happened to him. I was so worried about him!
Grace--I'm resorting to last year's photos--I'm waiting for my yard to bloom. We are getting close!
Veronica--It's hard to live where there is cold and snow--we go too many months without flowers and color. We live for spring when it returns. Hooray! Happy Easter, pally!
Marg--We are mowing a lot too--much to Hobbes' chagrin. He does not like the lawn mower.
Pricilla--Do you think the neighbors would tolerate a goat in the 'hood??? I could take him for walks! :)
Lynne--It's constant that battle with intruders, isn't it?? I can't go out in the yard without nabbing a few weeds here and there.
Beaded Tail--We've had so much rain around here lately! Yesterday the sun finally came out and so did the mowers. Hobbes spent the day mostly inside because he was scared. Go figure.
Sharkey--Remember the white shoes, frilly socks, purse, gloves and hat? Oh, it all hurt so bad, but we looked so GOOD!
Debbie--Hi, new pally! Yeah, what is with that??! When did it all go away? Isn't it strange how Easter has become so unimportant? Schools don't acknowledge it and now they are working on Christmas too. Sigh. It's sad.
Ann--Easter has really changed and that makes me sad. It used to be such a treat to dress up for that day. Remember the white shoes and frilly socks?? Dang, I loved all that!
Glad to hear the report of no more white, but green! Happy Easter to you too!
