I Love Hobbes Thursday - Spring!

It's official, spring has arrived--well, according to Hobbes anyway.

The temperatures have reached far beyond freezing and the sun grows warmer by the day, which means Hobbes is out in the yard as much as possible. He rushes outside to greet the singing birds each morning and stumbles in after bidding adieu to the sun each night. That kitty door is getting tons of action these past few days--and so has Hobbes.

I don't know many cats who trust the world around them like Hobbes does, but he can be seen laying belly up out in the mulch, oblivious to the birds and squirrels that chatter warnings and curse his kitty self. Somehow he just knows that they aren't gonna get him and he closes his eyes in quiet confidence.

While I am happy to see the sun and feel it's warmth, Hobbes just wallows in it. If I'm home, he's not--"OUTSIDE!" he demands at every turn. And so he goes just to hang out in the fresh breeze and freedom of the yard.

I hope spring found you this week....or I hope it gets to you soon. According to Hobbes, there is nothing better after a long winter of being indoors.

Amen, Hobbes!

I never thought of his confident outdoor snoozing that way before.

Look at Mr. Orange Stripy Goodness soaking up the sunbeams! Love it!

Spring was here for about 6 minutes yesterday... then it snowed.... :(

Happy Thursday Lin!

I was out yesterday afternoon for an interview. On the way home I opened up the sun roof and drove with it open all...the...way...home! It was gorgeous out! Too bad I've got nothing to do today but run to Jewel for corned beef and cabbage. That's like a 3 minute trip. But I'll still have the sun roof open!

Oh Hobbes, now I want to drag out my Outdoor Funhouse and bask in the sunshine, myself!

Lucky Hobbes....I'd like to be basking in the sun too....but it's a bit damp at the moment.

Livvy has got a bad, bad case of spring fever. She DARED to sneak out the door without her harness. I almost freaked. She's decidedly an indoor cat, very innocent and, well, naive. I grabbed her in the nick of time and brought her back indoors. I hope i don't have to do this ALL spring and summer. :|

Well, it's been snowing and more snow in the forecast but today is absolutely gorgeous. In the 40s with SUN and I am going to take Hobbes' advice and wallow in it.

Great picture!
Nothing better than being outdoors in the Springtime, if only I could loll in the sun. Why am I compelled to pick up sticks, clean up the ravages of winter? Ooh, my muscles are sore now.

It definetly has been a lot warmer this past week, but there is still about 2 feet of snow in my yard. It will still be awahil before I can be belly up out in the mulch!

that should be "awhile".

Hobbes has got it right! I think I'm going to go roll around on my patio now.

Hooray for spring. Love that shot of Hobbes. I believe spring has arrived here also, we hit the 60 degree mark today.

That photo highlights Hobbes's cute pink nose! After days and days of rain, the sun is shining so I'm going to go enjoy it while I can!

I'm digging spring this year. Our new area has all kinds of outdoor festivals and it's a great time killer for the kids. I mean, a rewarding experience. Duh.

Helene--He totally ignores those birds--it's hilarious!

Catherine--Oh no!! I think we may get snow again, but it won't stick. The ground has warmed a ton.

Lola--Did you get your car back?? And an interview?? Wow. I hope your luck is turning.

Daisy--Oh, you should! Hobbes is pooped from being outside and his fur smells of fresh air. :)

Mary Ann--He actually gets crabby when it is raining and he can't go out. Poor guy.

Rebecca--Oh no! Hobbes stays around so he can go outside if we are home. He spent the whole afternoon sleeping in the mulch today--he is very tired tonight.

Mtn. Woman--More snow???! Ugh. I'm glad you had a little sun at least.

Grace--I swear he poses.

Vanilla--I do the same thing! I go around and putter around the yard, clipping this, picking up sticks, etc. But like you, my back is sore from all that stooping!

Hot Rocks--Oh no! Our snow is gone, thank goodness. Now everything is just soggy.

Pricilla--NOOOOOOO! That isn't right. I say you all come for a visit here--I've got a shed for the goats to sleep in. :)

Chuck--Oh, it is lovely and good for our spirits. Nothing like warm and sunshine. :) Oh, and blooming snowdrops.

Betty--Ouchie! At least roll around on the grass, Betty!

Ann--He was so thrilled to have me with him out in the yard that he didn't mind the camera a bit! Don't you love the warm weather??! I'm sure Duke does!

Beaded Tail--Hooray for sun! I'm actually hoping for rain so my snowdrops and crocus can bloom. :) I planted all these bulbs last fall and I'm waiting to see them blossom.

Casey--Oh, how nice! I'm glad you moved to a better area. :)

Violet--Hobbes LOVES outside and he really loves if I go out with him. He was in hog heaven "working" outside in the yard all day with Colin.

Ahhh- we are not there yet, but it made 54, which felt quite nice. This is my least favorite month... not enough snow and too much mud. But April is coming. Save some sunshine for me, Hobbes.
