SuperBowl, SchnooperBowl

What are you watching today?? Me, I'm anti-Super Bowl. Me, Em, and the kitties will be tuning in to Animal Planet to watch the big game there---Puppy Bowl! I'd rather watch a bunch of cute puppies slobbering around for an hour than a bunch of big thick-necked men slobbering around the football field. It's just not my bag, sorry. And not even the media-induced faux interest of all the food and ads sways me. Nope.

Give me Puppy Bowl and add in Kitten Halftime with the Hamster Blimp and we're in hog heaven.

Have a great day! Your plan sounds excellent. I am going to a Super Bowl party (my first) but I intend to eat and talk incessantly.

I plan on stirring the chili and checking ESPN.com for by box scores. That's it.

Superbowl?

I'm a Puppy Bowl w/Kitty Halftime fan myself! I hope I didn't miss it. I'll probably be in bed by the end of the Stuporbowl. Yes, that's what I call it.

I think that sounds divine. I wonder how my guests would feel if I were to show the Puppy Bowl!?? I could care less about the game and really the commercials don't matter either. BUT I love having friends over and overeating!!! You need to make some Puppy Chow to go along with Puppy Bowl.

I actually need to look up the alternatives. Sometimes they have some goodies!

I've got my own puppy bowl here all the time...we'll be rooting on the cheese heads at the spousal unit's cousin's abode.

Good food. Good family. Good game.

Ah, photos of Spring greenery - what could be nicer? Super Bowl, you say? What is that - like a really big bowl? Who has room for a really big bowl?

I might check in once in a while but I don't have the interest to sit and watch a whole game.

The Puppy Bowl?!?! OMG that is SO cute!!! I don't have TV so I get to watch neither... but they don't have the Puppy Bowl on radio.

Amen, sista.

No SuperBowl here either. Can't make myself care.

The teens at our church had a Souper Bowl by collecting food for the food bank. That's about as close to the super bowl as I'll be.

Betty--I like the eating part, but I grow weary of talking about football and commercials. No more SuperBowl parties for me. I think I'll take a nap instead.

DG--Do you plan on ever eating the chili?

Pricilla--And that is why you are my bestest goat pally. :)

Kathy--Oh, there where Chicken Cheerleaders and a Kiss Cam this year! It was very exciting.

Diana--I like your Puppy Chow idea. :) YUM! I like having friends over too, but I really don't like everyone fawning over the football game. Ick.

Violet--There are usually a lot of chick movies on at the same time. I'm planning a nap.

Jodi--Oh, have fun, Jodi!

Grace--yeah, and who really wants or needs a big bowl?? The attraction to football always amazes me as I don't get it. I don't find anything interesting about that sport.

Ann--Nah, I'm gonna miss the whole thing. Even half-time and the silly commercials. I think a nap is a better idea. Or catching up on everyone's blogs.

Rebecca--Oh, Bummer! They fill a small faux football arena with puppies and film the antics. They have a ref who calls fouls for "Ruff. Ruff. Ruffness." and potty accidents. There are chicken cheerleaders and hamsters in a blimp. There is also a kitten half-time. It's silly, but very cute. It's much more my speed.

Sharky--Me neither. So, that would be two of us.

Marilynne--Oh, that is a great idea! I like that.

We had the Super Bowl on but I was making a bracelet so didn't watch it. I just finished in time to see the Packers win. I'm glad football is over finally!

Have fun, Lin! Your plan sounds good!

We had a superbowl party wherein I split my time between "cleaning up in the kitchen" , dozing on the couch, and staring blankly- zombie like at the screen taking cues from others as to when to look around and smile. Sheesh- I even TRY to get into it and just default into thinking after a while. BORING.

Now we know what you'll be "rooting" for in your hog heaven . . .

Lin said...

Beaded Tail--Oh, darn! You missed it??? Oh, I think I did too. Too bad. ;)

Veronica--You don't have football there, do you, Veronica? It's horrid. You aren't missing a thing, pally.

Nancy--Hahaha! You sound like me and that is why I don't go to those parties anymore. I can't fake interest for more than 3 minutes.

Chuck--PUPPY BOWL!!

Veronica Lee said...

Not American football but soccer which is just as horrid especially during the World Cup Fever when everyone watches the game at an ungodly hour (because of the time difference) and ends up as zombies the next day. You'll see people literally snoozing away at their desks and behind counters!!!

Puppy Bowl is my FAVORITE and I totally forgot to record it this year. How was it? Any awesome action?

Lin said...

Veronica--At least the clock keeps running in soccer. 3 minutes in our football can last an HOUR! Crazy. What is with these silly sports???

Casey--It was actually really cute this year. There were some really active dogs so there was lots of running and biting and such. Also, the hamster blimp was back and the addition of chicken cheerleaders! Although I think last year's bunny cheerleaders were much cuter.

Puppy Bowl AND a Hamster Blimp? See...I need cable.

We didn't watch either. We went to my mom's house, ate Mexican and watched "Mama Mia".

Cheers!

Jen--It's nice to have quality alternatives to sports. ;)
