WEll, I'm with Hobbes...even though we have no snow here, I wouldn't go out in it! Take the stuff and KEEP it please! I'd be sitting by the fire with my feet up, lap top in hand and snoozing intermittenly (is that a word?) anyway, I'd be hanging out!
Good heavens, Hobbes isn't turning into a yellow-bellied weenie, is he? We ladies know that the boys need their exercise or they will just pick fights... throw him out in the snowbank, He'll learn to swim! He'll thank you for it someday!
Gus and Pru have been keeping a careful eye on the latest weather developments from the safety of their cat tree. I held the door open for Gus during the blizzard, but he was strangely uninterested.
I have two indoor cats. Both of them whined at the back door yesterday because my son was outside .....so he let them out onto the porch to see what they would do. They were not impressed in the least with snow and were back inside faster than a speeding bullet:)
Dear Hobbes- I wish I could stay inside all day, crap in a box and gaze into a roaring fire. Instead...I had to SHOVEL SNOW AGAIN THIS MORNING! Aaaaaahhhhhh! Enough I tell you, ENOUGH!
From the frozen tundra on the other side of the river, Jodi
Tracy--But the house is BORING! Poor kitty is beating up Kleenex boxes at this point. I may have to go out in the snow with him--just to encourage him a bit. I promise I'll only make him walk on the shoveled parts.
Duni--He is scared because of the height. He can't see a thing! It's funny actually.
Jennifer--Uh...have you seen Hobbes lately?? Homeboy and his 47 lbs of stripey Goodness ain't walking ON the ice-covered snow, Jennifer! :)
Rebecca--I'm gonna have to drag him out with me. He is very scared by how tall and how much snow there is. Weinie is right.
Grace--Oh yeah! Even Joe couldn't convince him to stay out. Poor guy.
Beaded Tail--Oh, they are fighting something WICKED. I'm tired of the two of them hissing and spitting. And I think Grace is getting a little shell-shocked by the attacks.
Chuck--Do you??! Does Midnight look at it?! Hobbes is sooooo bored. I let him sit in my car for fun at this point.
JD--Weren't they scared of how high the snow was? Hobbes is. He doesn't even look out the window at this point. I think he is completely disgusted with the white stuff.
Mary Ann--Hi, pally! While the blast of fresh air is lovely, getting those paws on cold white stuff is enough to turn any kitty off to going outside. The fireplace is much nicer. :) Smart kitties you have there.
Jodi--We are supposed to get more too. Sigh. Shoveling this stuff OVER your head is just too much for me. I'm DONE with this already! Sounds like you are too.
Helene--Oh, poor Hobbes (and his weight) would sink like a stone in this stuff! He doesn't go much further than the shoveled sidewalks at this point and even that isn't happening much.
We have a lot of snow in our backyard too! I was so tempted today to take Spunky Doodle out just to see how she would act in it. I seriously doubt if she could run very fast. I think Hobbes made the right decision.
I've seen cats in snow. They put a foot in, then take a step and shake the snow from the first foot and put another foot in, shake it. Very funny to watch. Obviously Hobbes is a house cat.
Karen--Hobbes would sink like a stone in that stuff. He most certainly did make the right decision.
Marilynne--Well, actually, he loves the snow--when it is 3 feet or below in the yard. He actually wrestles it and chases about in it, but this huge amount in the yard is freaking him out. It's also freaking me out, so I guess I don't blame him.
Catherine--She either finds a good place to hang out all day or she just throws up.....a LOT.
Daisy--Yeah, well, he'd be a LOT smarter to leave Grace alone. She's gonna get him one of these days.
Violet--Grace is gonna get him and get him good one of these days. She's just waiting......
Sharky--No kidding! I think it is too deep, even for him. It is for me too to be honest.
I just think life is more fun if we notice the little stuff and laugh...a LOT. I'm lucky to live with a family who humors me, joins in the fun and tolerates me most days.
I have a wee house and yard, but it is loaded with adventures. There isn't a backyard pond owner out there who has more stories about her frogs, snails, fish than me. And I don't even make this stuff up!
I'm glad you are here to laugh with me. Welcome, pallies!

Hobbes is a very wise cat! I wouldn't venture out in that much snow either :)
Our snow has a thick layer of ice on top so Pumpkin doesn't fall through:)

He sure looks like he wants "IN"...
I'd choose snuggling by the fire over all that snow too! Hobbes is very wise! I hope he doesn't beat up more Grace though.
Hobbes is one smart kitty! I have his picture sitting above my computer monitor.

Poor Hobbes
His Spring is hiding under all that. It's coming Hobbes, its coming. I printed out a picture of my tomato garden to remind me.
Then again one good leap into that and you won;t find him until Spring.
I love the "let me back in!!!" pose
I don't blame Hobbes one single bit.

I'm glad Hobbes is staying inside. Hopefully Grace can find someplace 'Hobbes Free' to hide! :)
xo Catherine
Hobbes, you are one smart cookie!
He's pretty smart not to take the chance of sinking to the bottom of that snowpile! But poor Grace!
Oh my! Hobbes not going into the snow? That's serious!
Karen--Hobbes would sink like a stone in that stuff. He most certainly did make the right decision.

How wise of Hobbes! Love that pic.
Have a nice day, Lin!
Veronica--He's not wise---he's CHICKEN!!! Hahaha!
