Snowed just before we left the nawth, and I made a snow angel. Still able to get the old bones off the ground! Were I to lie down on the lawn here, I'd rise with Spanish moss and live oak leaves on my clothing. *teehee*
I hear ya! I didn't make sleet angels this storm go around, but I did, and was the only person in the neighborhood just hanging outside in my nonook breathing in fresh winter air with my girls. Being inside when winter offers a playgound makes you start to feel stale.
My first question to students after a snow day is always: did you play in the snow? Surprisingly the answer is yes followed longggg snow sledding stories. :-)
I don't ever recall doing that when we were kids - mostly I remember massive snow forts, snow people and snow ball fights - lots of those. Not much sledding in our neighborhood - no hills of any sort. But the kids on the other side of Hillside Avenue probably had a blast on their sleds (it wasn't called Hillside Avenue for nothing!)
If it makes you feel any better, my kids made sand angels last weekend at the beach. Scratch that, rubbing in the fact that we went to the beach probably didn't help.
Love your snow angels. And you. Heheh. PS, I'm back.
The Diva made some a few snows ago but the sleet that we got this time just did not work! LOL! She did lay in the middle of the kitchen floor and make a pretend snow angel while wearing a sundress and Dorothy slippers!
I love snow angels. My kids do them sometimes but their latest thing is building snow forts and tunnels. I am definitely a fuddy-duddy. I hate the snow.
When I went to Zoolight at the Brookfield Zoo after Christmas some 6 year old took his coat and hat off and was doing snow angels in one of the big tree planter boxes. It was hilarious! Of course his perfect dad freaked. I should have snapped a photo with my phone. The kid was in heaven!
Catherine--I don't think kids even go outside anymore! Sigh. They are missing out.
Helene--We were actually taking a break from shoveling. Gotta be a kid too, ya know. :)
DG--Hooray! It's good to know there are still good parents out there. ;)
Vanilla--Or sand up your bum! ;) I'm with you on the getting up part.
Jodi--I wish my tailbone didn't hurt or I'd be hitting the slopes too. LOVE sledding!
Grace--Oh, I forgot about the snow-block maker in the garage! It makes FAB blocks for igloos. I might have to drag that out this weekend--thanks for reminding me, Grace.
Casey--Oh, gees, Casey--I hope you didn't get SUNBURN! Arrrrggggh! Glad you are back, pally!
Jo--I like a creative woman. That is so cute!
Nancy--I think you are the perfect person for the etsy job--you always find the BEST stuff! After all these years, my first inclination after a big snow is to make a snow angel. :)
Anne--Really?! You have to learn to embrace it and your lost childhood, Anne. I like snow forts and beanin' the kids with snowballs. Hee! Hee!
Betty--Can you spike it with a little Jack Daniels???
Lola--Hahaha! I love it when the "perfect" kid is doing that too. :)
Chuck--Oh, it was hell to get up, but really worth it.
Pricilla--It's like my friend who dives off the high dive each year at the pool---I think you have to do one each year for tradition. Now, go on.....get out there!
peewee--He is such a CHICKEN this year. He'll sniff out there, but isn't very keen on going out in the snow that is over his head!
I used to make snow angels but I haven't seen enough snow to do so since we moved from CO 8 years ago and at this point I think I'm too fuddy-duddy to get cold again!
I can't remember the last time I saw a good old fashioned snow angel except for here on your blog. Kids these days just don't know what they are missing.
I just think life is more fun if we notice the little stuff and laugh...a LOT. I'm lucky to live with a family who humors me, joins in the fun and tolerates me most days.
I have a wee house and yard, but it is loaded with adventures. There isn't a backyard pond owner out there who has more stories about her frogs, snails, fish than me. And I don't even make this stuff up!
I'm glad you are here to laugh with me. Welcome, pallies!

Brave souls in this deep snow.
My kids make snow angels. That makes two of us anyway!

I don't know about all of those bums in your neighborhood, but it looks fun to me!
Thanks for your entry in the WillOaks Studio giveaway over at a little etsy love! Your support means a lot, and good luck!!!!

Yeah! Love it! I'll watch from the window and have your hot cocoa ready for you.

A fun activity for the young and young at heart. Not so fun for the old and arthritic . . . :)
I did one our first year here when it snowed about two feet. None since...
uh yah. I guess I'm a fuddy duddy. And I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that hobbes is right there with me!

Woohoo!!!
So who won?

Beaded Tail--I think you would do it if you had enough snow. It's quick and painless to make one, PLUS it is extra fun!
Rebecca--Me, of course. My angels are always better than Em's. ;)
Ann--I love that you posted one on your blog!! I love that you joined me in the fun!!!
