Table 1 and Table 2 were big winners last night, with prizes galore scattering the tables. It seems that if our table wasn't winning, it was Wendy's. I think the other tables were secretly (or not so secretly) jealous of our stack-o-prizes.
Joe scored a Silent Auction win with a family package--tickets for 4 to the Planetarium, Museum of Science and Industry, some water park hotel in Michigan, a local baseball team, and a pizza. His proudest moment though, was his big win of a $50 gift card to a local pub and eatery. Nothing boosts that man's ego like that of a win of a raffle prize. I'm just glad that it was something good--not like Red Riding Hood doll prize that he was threatening to dump some tickets in.
So, the big winner of the night? G'ma Phyl with a total of 5 prizes won! Dang. Girlfriend sends me with some cash to "donate" towards raffle prizes and she kills on the wins. This morning, she is knee-deep in candles, bagels, restaurant gift cards, and gardening supplies. And while we were all "excited" that G'ma Phyl cleaned up, it was us who had to haul the giant baskets of doubloon out last night. Gees. Nothing like a little salt in the wounds...
At least our prizes weren't too big--Wendy's mom killed with the win of two patio umbrellas, bagels for a year from Panera, and a patio heater. Joe called it a night of the "Grammy's"--where all the Grandma's did all the winning. And he was very proud of himself for making that funny.
And what did I win? Nothing. But that is because Joe only puts his name on the raffle tickets.

You know what they say about NY'ers and winning? If a New Yorker won a huge lottery the first thing out of their mouths would be "Oy, all the taxes!"
So is Joe being considerate? Putting his name on the tickets so that you don't have to lug home all those prizes? Sounds like quite the haul. My prize arrives later tonight! :)
It seems to me that Joe and Phyl are gonna need dates for the outings the prizes offer...and the date's name is Lin ;-)
So he won't take you to the Museum of Science and Industry?
So, Lin, everbody was a winner.
so perhaps you are a winner vicariously? I hope he at least takes you along on some of his journeys...
I love the photo...
Congrats to all the grammys.
Hmmm.... you might have to take control of that pen the next time Joe is signing his name on all those raffle tickets... ;)
Hope you are having a happy weekend Lin!
xo Catherine
Joe has been a winner since the day he met you! :)
just like a man to only sign his name, geesh. Congrats to Joe and G'ma Phyl on their big wins
Wow, nice haul.
Congrats.
Grace--Yeah, that was me--"LOOK what we've got to haul home....for my mother!"
Chuck--Sheesh. I'm so lucky to have him, aren't I?? ;) Hope Sylvia got home safe.
Jodi--Why do I think those two are going without me???
Pricilla--He'd better! Actually he just wants to go to see the U505 submarine that is on permanent exhibit. He's always got some ulterior motive.
Vanilla--Well, everyone but ME!
Tracy--He'd better take me. Criminy, I'm thinking it was my money too, right?
Terra--Oh, G'ma Phyl was thrilled to pieces to be such a big winner. AND she got great prizes too!
Catherine--No kidding!
Beaded Tail--Awwww. Thanks, pally. But somehow, I don't think he gets that. ;)
Ann--Yeah, no wonder I wasn't winning anything! It took me awhile to figure that out.
Joe--Hey, Joe! How are ya, pally?
Wow, wow, wooey. Good for Joe, cleaning up! Too bad he wasn't the top winner, but hey, free dinner out and some other cool prizes are pretty great too!
Yep, Grace is right. That's the FIRST thing I think of when I win anything. Or earn anything. *sigh*
Damn, you're not kidding. Joe raked in the prizes. Which are 50% yours by law.
