Every day I look out at the ice-covered pond and the footprints of squirrels who walk upon their frozen home, and I wonder what they dream of all winter long.
Ah, Lin whenever I see a cute frog I think of you. Maybe one day the yard art fairy will leave you a frog instead on a Little House on the Prairie goose.
Yes, you must go visit Catherine's frog..it will make you feel better in no time! Actually I saw your name on Catherine's post and was intrigued by your comment so I thought I'd hop, or rather 'pop' over for a visit. I love the title of your blog and the premise...I've always liked that phrase, good, bad, or indifferent; just seems to qualify every situation, doesn't it? It was nice visiting and yes, I miss the frogs, especially the ones I tend to see when I'm playing golf in the hot summer months...
My favorite quote is by Kermit the Frog: "Time's fun when you're having flies!" The frogs might not be having much fun (or flies) right now. Maybe you could get some gerbils. They are a barrel of fun!
I'm ready for spring although we have flowers blooming already so it won't be much longer!
The package arrived today and we all found something very enjoyable about it! Sadie wouldn't leave it alone and kept sniffing it and after opening it I discovered why! I thought she was just smelling Hobbes! I will post about it too.
Catherine--I LOVE your frog purse today, Catherine! Made me laugh. I'm glad you are silly like me. :)
Highway--I saw your frogs the other day on your blog and it made me think of mine. I try not to think about them too much because then I just worry about them. Ooooh, I think I would like a frog statue much better than a goose one.
Tracy--Hi, new pally! So glad you "hopped" over. :) I have a pond here and I'm always watching the frogs. I worry about them while they hibernate. I can't wait to see them this spring.
Anita's Mom--You know, I've never had frog eggs in my pond. I know I have a male this year, so who knows??! This may be the year! I'll bring you a tadpole to raise. ;)
Jodi--Sigh. Me too. But I don't miss my white lumpy thighs in shorts.
Grace--Oh, no! When does George come home??! I hope he got home before the snow.
Betty--I like when there is a warm spell during the winter and the ice melts. They will typically poke their little heads up to let me know they are okay. Alright--it's to get some fresh air, but I like to think it is for my benefit. :)
Chcuk--Dang, Chuck. You are GOOD! I like that.
Nancy--Well, we sort of do that, don't we?
Pricilla--We had a warm spell a few weeks ago and everyone was out getting some air. You should have seen how chubby they were! But yes, I think they would love something juicy to eat when it warms up.
Daisy--I like that quote, Daisy! And while I've never had gerbils, we've had lots and lots of hamsters. But my kitties never paid any attention to them! Even when they escaped their cage, Grace just sat on the rug and watched them. Never went after them once. She is very silly.
Ann--I saw them all a few weeks ago when we had some unseasonable weather. I sure hope they are all okay under there now.
Jean--That is one of my favorite photos of my frogs. You wouldn't believe how tiny that little guy was at the time. At the most, his body was the size of your thumb. :)
Beaded Tail--Oh good! I was waiting to see if you got your surprise! Can't wait to hear if everyone liked their treats. :) (My kitties LOVE those sparkle balls)
Sharky--I miss the color green and smiling frogs. I thought of you last night when I spied the opossum in my yard. You should have seen his little hand-prints in the snow!
Marilynne--Yeah, I know they are snoozing, but I still worry about them. I've lost a few over the winter and it is not nice come spring. Kinda stinky and sad.
I just think life is more fun if we notice the little stuff and laugh...a LOT. I'm lucky to live with a family who humors me, joins in the fun and tolerates me most days.
I have a wee house and yard, but it is loaded with adventures. There isn't a backyard pond owner out there who has more stories about her frogs, snails, fish than me. And I don't even make this stuff up!
I'm glad you are here to laugh with me. Welcome, pallies!

I miss spring! Let us hope that it and the frogs return shortly!

PS - There happens to be a cute little frog on my post this morning ~ perhaps that will cheer you up! :)

I know, I know! They think of spring (53 days), food and hooking up with each other.
Anita's Mom
I miss my flip flops and seeing pedicured piggies.
Lovely photo and lovely little poem! (It's flippin' snowing here - 3 to 6 inches of wintry mix has now turned into 10 inches of snow! Ack!)
They miss you too! Such a great picture. Spring is coming.
No doubt their dreams,
To me it seems,
Are of songs that have been sung.
Of clear blue skies,
And big fat flies,
Resting sweetly on the tongue.
That would be such a weird life, huh? Spend half the year in the world and the other half in a slow dull state. Ek...kinda gives me the creeps.
It will hopefully soon be spring. The sun is trying to cut through a very thick fog here today and I trust it will succeed. At least for a bit....
Your froggies are probably thinking of bugs. Lots and lots of bugs.

I miss your frogs too. Lets hope for an early spring and summer so we get to see them again real soon
Sigh....I miss them also. Love your photo and poem!

Oh... I love that. Well done!
Your frogs are having a nice muddy sleep. They'll wake up later.
