Recycling

So, the copy machine needs a new toner cartridge the other day, so you know what that means, don't you? Yep, craft time at work.

Irene runs over to show me the funny bubble-wrapper that it came in and it just screamed "Add eyeballs and little hands on me"---so, of course, that's what I did. Damn, I am really creative when it comes to that kind of stuff. Irene was just super impressed that I cut those snappy hands out of post-its without even drawing them first. Some people are just talented that way.

I have talents, people. I just don't like to brag about them.

And oh--guess who had their office call me and beg me to not-break-up-with-her-anymore? Yeah, I got a call from the p/t's office wanting to schedule another 12 weeks of treatment. What???!

Emma says they always come crawling back and sure enough.....

So, I brought up the fact that we were broken up and I think something is amiss. They played it off like it was some communication error on their part. Yeah, that's what they all say. I knew she'd miss me.

It's finally Friday. Gees, was this the longest week ever??! And how come the weekends fly by so quickly?

Here's to a good weekend, pallies. May it be a slow one.

Happy weekend. Payday so I'm happy. Even if the money will fly out of my account faster than even the weekend.

Boss hired tax time help. The woman has a bound resume with performance reviews and ref letters. Ugh.

I'm thinking if we knew why the weekends go so fast and the week days go so slow, we would know the meaning of life.... no? :)

PS ~ you are very crafty Lin

Bwwaahahaha...with just a few volts of electricity you could bring him to life! Your own office Fraken-bubble!

Dude...dollarstorecrafts.com has NOTHING on you!!!

Haha! That is creative indeed! Love him/it!
Weekends are short, but I still hope you enjoy yours...

Maybe you can market that little guy on Etsy...recycled art is so hot these days! Hee hee! Enjoy your weekend...even if they do fly by way too fast.

So you didn't say if you kissed and made up. Did you get back together with P/T? I say screw it. Never go back.

Oh and the week on this side of the river--flew by!

That is so cute! As to the p/t folks - they must have looked at your insurance and their cash flow!

That's another reason to like working - it gives some structure to your life - I rarely know the day or date without looking it up!

Pricilla said...

They probably just want your insurance money.

Helene--Did you hear the whooshing sound?? Yep. That's MY paycheck flying away too. :( Be glad Reference Letter Lady is there. Maybe they will like her and keep her on. SHE can take care of Grandpa.

Catherine--If only we could switch it around. Sigh.

Melodie--I like that name! I think we may have to name him that. I'll let Irene know. :) Thx!

Diana--I am the Queen of Uselessness!

Duni--It's funny--one of our co-workers actually asked for it for her kids! :)

Hot Rocks--His mouth is open so you can put stuff in him too! It looks like he has sharp teeth, but you can't see that from the photo. I'd sell him, but then we'd miss him. :(

Jodi--Oh, it was the lack of communication at their end. I have a script to continue, but we have plateaued, so there is no point going back. She was wonderful--don't get me wrong. I am really grateful for her help and support. No hard feelings--I was just being silly about ending treatment. If I don't laugh, I'm gonna cry. In fact, I think I did.

Grace--See above comment. If going back was going to help, I would have pushed it, but I think we have gone as far as we are going to. I'm sad because that leaves me with nowhere to go with this condition. She was my last hope. :( I may have to be put down this week.

Pricilla--Nah. See the above comments. It's all good, we just haven't had any improvements in a long time. Wish there was.

Yay for Friday!!! I hope you all have a great slow weekend too. And Em is right, they do always come crawling back. But remember, that gives YOU the power, so don't let it slip away again!

You are very crafty! I'm impressed with those jazz hands you cut out!

This week has been soooo long but now I hope the weekend slows down so I can enjoy a good book!

Hope you are able to find some way to fix your pain!

SHe wants you. Misses you. Needs you. "communication error" my ass!

Also....LOVE the creature!!!

You've got skills, Lin. Hope things are well up there, long time no talk. It's not you, it's me. I don't want you thinking we broke up or anything.

Does your genius know no bounds, Lin? You could sell these bubble wrap men (women?) at craft fairs and be rich.

Rebecca said...

How nice you get the clear ones. Mine is black. :D

Glad to hear things are better with the PT. Breaking up is hard to do! lol

I think transparent man has an empty tummy- what are you going to feed him?

Lin said...

Nancy-- Just goes to show you that they missed me already! ;) Actually it was an error, but I'm sort of glossing over that part.

Highway--Isn't he cute? I think the rest of the co-workers are very jealous that we have him.

Beaded Tail--Jazz Hands!! Hahaha! I like that! Let me (and Sharky) know how you like the book. I can't wait to hear about it.

peewee--Sigh. It was so crazy explaining how we broke up all over again to her office. I was hoping she would have done that for me. Ugh.

Casey--CASEY!! Gees, I MISS you!! Come back, pally! I keep checking your blog to see what's going on. I can't quit you, man!

MikeWJ--Not genius, Mike, just TALENT! It is tough making jazz hands for bubble wrap people at work. Sheesh. No respect.

Rebecca--Uh, I believe the term is African American, pally. ;) Let's be politically correct with our bubble wrap people.

Sharky--We were trying to figure that out, Sharky. Irene was trying to stuff her work in his mouth, but it didn't all fit. Bummer.

Oh, I want one of those little men. Maybe next time a turkey? Weekends used to fly by and then the work week would drag but the advantage was then I had a paycheck and now I just have crazy birds.

Best of weekends to you!

natalee said...

LOL!!!!!!! I loVE THAT!!!!!!!!!!

Lin said...

Anna--Hi, pally! I loved that treasury! Thanks for linking. :) Hope all is well with you.

Ann--I'm sure there are going to be a few people at work who will sigh, roll their eyes, and comment on my lack of work--but it is always fun to stir it up with those types. :)

Mtn Woman--I would love to work with turkeys. Oh, wait! I think I do! ;) Hee! Hee! I will see what kind of turkey crafts I can make. Stay tuned.

natalee--It's amazing what you'll do to avoid working at work.

That thing is just adorable. Urmmm... is it for sale?? :D

It looks as if it's saying... 'Feed me, feed me!!

Lin said...

Nessa--Irene keeps sticking things in there, so don't worry--it won't go hungry!

I once worked with a guy whose wife made him a 'Wilson' because he complained to her about how boring it was to drive to work in silence because his car stereo was broken. He got in the car the next morning and there, on the seat, was Wilson, complete with a hand-face and grassy hair. So of course he brought it to work and sat it on top of the cube farm so we could all be comforted by his silent and encouraging presence.

Lin said...

Shieldmaiden--I love that! I just know that if I was alone on an island, I'd be making myself a friend too. Somebody (anybody!) to talk to!! I'll bet Wilson was everyone's favorite co-worker.

Coming by from the Bumbles blog. Love your little bubble wrap guy :)

Lin said...

Lynn--Welcome, new pally!! Thanks for stopping by. :) Oh--Bubble Buddy has a girlfriend now...and as of today, a new baby. Things move fast on top of the cubicles.
