The Cow is Dry

Like the tundra that surrounds me these days, I find myself barren of tales to tell. Well, I have stories, they just aren't good ones. I don't think my getting a bruise from acupuncture this week or us getting new dishes is exactly something to post--well, it would be except I don't have photos to go along with them. Sigh.

So, I'm taking the day off to clean house and make room for those new dishes. And perhaps find a story in the back of them there cabinets.

Describe those dishes to us, friend.

Better a story than a spider

I was wondering what happened with the acupuncture - aside from the guy being rather humourless (as I recall). And bruise? How did that happen? Not supposed to....I'm betting there is something in the back of the cabinets - something put away and forgotten about...a "so that's where it's been all this time" sort of moment...

When we were in Alaska over the summer I had my eyes out for the Alaska state flower. I had seen photos of it but I didn't know it was so small. I finally discovered it out in a garden outside a popular Anchorage restaurant, which was one of our last few days in AK. I tried to get a good photo of it, but it's soooo small. Small but beautiful!

I hear ya, woman. My thoughts seem to hobble along on little Tiny Tim crutches when the days are short and gray. I'm attempting to discipline myself beyond the occasional anecdote about nail polish and my disinclination to watch organized sports. Its not easy.

I can so relate. The only difference is I tell all my boring mundane stories...lol
Enjoy your day and your new dishes :)

Haha- love your title. I have a friend who writes a column called "Ruminations of an Old Cow"

I spent the afternoon cleaning little messes, like throwing away expired coupons, and going through the Christmas cards, and throwing away most of the stuff piled here on my desk for what reason I can't remember now.

It wasn't hard work, but it feels good to have it done.

I love new dishes.

Havin' the January thaw Fri-Sun here in STL but Mon-Wed bring the frozen tundra back (ice and snow). Polishing the shovels next.

On days when you have nothing to say, a cute cat video will usually do the trick. Just a little something I've learned along the way... ;)

Cabin Fever= Cabinet Fever. It must be the season. Yesterday I pulled out the stove to see what might be, out of sheer boredom. OMG along with the common pasta, chap stick and dust bunnies was a turkey wish bone (circa ?) ! Fran's Dad

I spent the day playing with my horse and did not even think of the blog world...and that's OK.

peewee--Are you as bored as we are?? Dishes are not very exciting.

Terra--Really? I have to do a dish post???

Pricilla--I do not like spiders! EEEK!

Grace--I think it may be helping my GERD, so I have not broken up with him. He is getting used to me and rolling his eyes a bit now. That is the usual reaction with me. :)

Diana--What flower is it? Those little flowers are hard to capture unless you have a micro lens.

Shieldmaiden--I think my brain is hibernating as I don't even want to try to FIND a story in my life these days. Nothing exciting about sitting on the couch and the computer. Sigh.

Beaded Tail--At least we admit it, right? :)

Ann--But your stories don't seem boring to me! Add in a little Duke and wahlah! A great post!!! :)

Sharky--I like that name for a column. :) I wonder--does she go "dry" too?

Marilynne--I like to clean up files and drawers and closets this time of year. That's all the cold is good for!

Jodi--Oh, we are in for a storm too. :(

Cute--I can't even find anything on YouTube I like these days. It must be me.

Fran's Dad--Hahaha! I just looked under mine for a cat toy the other day and was horrified! I guess I have to move it as well. Thanks for the reminder.

Highway--Yes it is! I hate the feeling of having to be here each day. I like to take a few days off during the week, otherwise I just get crabby. Glad you and the horse had some quality time together. :)

Catherine--A dish post???! REally? Sigh. Okay.

You could tell us all how to make Thin Mints, that was quite a story. Enjoy your day off and new dishes are always fun.

Jen--OMG! That was a FIASCO! Just go buy the damn cookies! ;)

Jennifer--I think the lack of color has left me empty. Well, I guess it's good to rest every now and then, right?

Lin dry!?? Nah, I'm sure you'll have something awesome to tell us in no time and I am looking forward. Besides, you can always entertain us with pics of Hobbes or Joe in his jammies. I still can't get that pic out of my head. LOL!

I totally understand. There are times when I literally stare at a blank blog post, waiting for inspiration. Have fun with some me time.

Veronica--I was thinking folks are growing weary of the cat. Even I am tired of posting his photos sometimes. Don't worry--it's another week and more adventures await, I'm sure!

Chocolate--Well, I didn't get much done in the way of the blog, but I did manage to clean a few cabinets! :)
