I have this friend, Judy, who coined a holiday phrase I think most of us can connect with.
It was uttered in frustration years ago, over the antics of relatives and other such pains-in-the-butt who make holidays so darn crazy for us and our kids. You gotta be here on this day, there on another day, and don't you dare miss anything for fear of offending someone.
While we were both fried of holiday obligations and have-tos, Judy declared out loud what most of think at some point during the holidays: "Merry effing Christmas" But she didn't say "effing"--she said, you know.....the word.
That was years ago and there hasn't been a holiday since then that we haven't wished each other a "Merry effing Christmas" and we laugh. And laugh. Mostly because we just think we are so darn funny, but also that her saying just sort of sums it up sometimes. And I know we are not the only ones who think it.
I found this yesterday. And while I will apologize for yet another video--I think you'll crack up on this one. Meet Tingles, the Christmas Tension:

Oh gee thanks Lin! Now I've got this melody in my head and it won't go away. Merry effing Christmas! Lol!
Enjoy your day, babe!
Oh man, that's awesome. I could have used that video three Christmases ago.
Hey, you AB.SO.LUTELY. Have to see the video at Jayne's place today. It's at the end of the post and it's of two cats playing patty cake with voices provided for the cats. It's similar to the ones that klaatu42 does, but the meows don't match up with what they're saying.
However, it's still hilarious.
Here's the link

I think even worse would be if I had no obligations or anywhere to visit. My favorite day is the day after Christmas when I stay in PJ's all day and make cookies my main meal. The running around is done and the decorations look their best on that day. Yeah, December 26th!!!
You've made my holiday season with that video, Lin! Best wishes for yours!
Hmn...I'm thinking "Tinkles" arrives much earlier than the 23rd around most households;)
Merry Effing Christmas to you!
Lola--Kinda fitting, isn't it? I mean, who hasn't thought that at least once in their life??
Grace--Well?? Did it make you laugh, Grace??? Grace.....?
CG--LOVE LOVE LOVE the video!! It's not as good as klaatu42, but it is certainly MUCH better than anything I could do. Thanks for the heads-up.
Anonymous--Mom, I know that is you. You are the ONLY person I know who brags about wearing her PJ's the WHOLE freaking day after Christmas.
James--I'm glad you like it. It certainly made me laugh.
Nancy--No kidding! I like the elf who comes after Christmas. Was it me or did they call him "MOFO"?
Now that is hilarious!!!!!
I like it...lol
Your post reminded me of a little christmas song that I used to love to sing. It made frequent use of the effing word...lol
You crack me up, totally. That video? not so much.
I don't find much content from Comedy Central actually funny - I liked "South Park" for about 4 minutes. I liked Pinky and the Brain" but I don't think they were on Comedy Central. Actually the name "Comedy Central" is kind of a misnomer, isn't it?
That is the weirdest thing I've ever seen! And yes, it did make me chuckle a bit but so did Grace!
Okeedokee, then.
Violet--:)
Ann--Hmmmmm. Do I know that one??? You may have to sing it for us.
Grace--I think that channel tries too hard, but every so often something strikes me as funny.
Beaded Tail--I try really hard to make Grace laugh. I'm gonna get her to bust up one of these days.
Sharky--Sorry, pally. It isn't for everyone, I know.
Holy crap, that's my family (really my husband's family) Happy Effing Holiday!
Heehee! Oh that's cute!
Anonymous--Okay, you "anonymous" people are gonna have to start leaving your name or I'm gonna start guessing. I'm going with "Sue" on this one. ????
Rumblepurr--Sometimes I just hate the holidays--I think that wrapped it up in a neat little bow, didn't it?
