"Dear Linda,Love, Jennifer
We've resolved the technical issue with your order and found that the Hot Dog and Marshmallow Set was shipped on September 19th, and then delivered to your recipient shortly afterward. Because of the length of time this matter remained unresolved, we didn't charge you for the Hot Dog and Marshmallow Set and I've refunded you for the Coleman Camp Cooker. You should see a refund in the amount of $28.02 on your Visa within the next few business days.
I'm truly sorry for the trouble with this order, but I'm grateful for your patience with me while we get this resolved. Please know we're doing everything possible to prevent situations like this from happening again.
Best wishes, and have a great weekend!"
I added the "Love, Jennifer" part because I think by the end of this fiasco, girlfriend was probably loving the fact (like I was) that this hell is finally over.
And after reading this, you are probably wondering why the heck anyone would send a hot dog and marshmallow and Camp Cookers to a couple of newlyweds. Yeah, well, I was asking myself the same question--but that is what these two goofs registered for! Ugh. Maybe they are planning on being hobos or something, who knows. Either way, they ain't gettin' the Camp Cookers so they are gonna have to be creative out there on the rails.
Okay. I am done with Target.com. For. E. Ver. Not going to their stores. Not going to order from their online site. Not even looking at that place when I drive by. No siree. That $28.02 was a nice gesture, but it doesn't win me back. Nope. Target.com still sucks in my opinion.
That'll teach 'em to mess with the folks at the Duck and Wheel.
Quit giggling.

good for you.unfortunately there are so many out there that one poerson not shopping with them will ever hurt them. They simply do not care if they lost you as a customer.we are all just a number to them anyway.
I'm glad you got it all resovled.
But, never going to Target stores again??? Hell Target=momdom
A nice resolution if way too long in the making. We went to Target today - actually got out without spending the requisite $100. I like Target - not especially fond of the one I have available to me - it's a low end Target because it is in a low-end neighborhood. But then the Macy's in Filfthadelphia sucks as well.
Well at least it didn't cost you cash, just aggravation.
I like Target stores, but have had nothing but greif with online orders. It's brick and mortar for them or nothing. Hey, not everyone is cut out for .com
YEAH!!!!! it's over. About time huh? Yes, nice gesture to refund you the money but I think they should have thrown in a couple of freebies too.
Mike--Yeah, but if ONE person hesitates after reading my experience, it might, just might, make a difference. Walmart is literally 1/2 mile up the street--our Target is empty since it opened. Guess where I shop? And I'm always pleasantly surprised at the service I get there. Expect nothing, I say!
Jodi--THANK GOD! It's OVER!!! I haven't shopped in my Target in about 7 years. Don't miss it.
Grace--8 weeks, Grace, but who is counting??? ME!!! ;) I'm officially done with Target. Bad experience in their store AND online. I break up with thee.
Pricilla--I just wanted my credit card number freed from their clutches. That is ALL I wanted. So, happy I am. :)
DG--Apparently they have a glitch in their system where they cannot cancel an order in their back-order system. Funny how I am the ONLY person to have experienced that??? Ugh. Thank god the madness is over. I can sleep now. :)
Ann--Well, they would have been wasted. I wrote a nice thank you to Jennifer, but I'm most happy it is OVER. Whew!
Well, it was a start. The problem is that if we stop shopping at the places that fail us, there will soon be no where left to shop.
And you're prescient, too. And telepathic, else how did you know this old man was giggling?
"but I'm grateful for your patience with me while we get this resolved."
That made me crack up!
I will shop at a store again if they make things right. While I don't like Target a whole lot, I do like them better than Walmart, in general. They have better office stuff. :) But a store that refuses to make things right will never see my money. I think it's cool that Target was so apologetic, even if it took them FOREVER to make amends.
At least this saga is over! Now you can rest! Or find something else to rant about! ;)
Well at least that's over! The newleyweds will just have to cook the weinies some other way than on a Coleman Camp Cooker! Okay, I'll really quit giggling now.
Hooray for receiving a refund!!!
Booooo to Target.com!!!
xo Catherine
OMG really!! It is over!! Crazy!
Sharky--Why do we have to accept shoddy service? Why can't there be an in-between? Or at least some attempt at customer service? Nope. I've had bad experiences at the store level and online. I'll stick to Crate and Barrel for my wedding gifts from now on.
Vanilla--The whole thing is ridiculous, Vanilla. And I am too--that is how I know you are laughing. :)
Rebecca--I try not to rant here because I find that a boring read, but I felt this one was just too silly not to report. I leave the ranting for my everyday life and my family. :)
Beaded Tail--This whole thing is downright silly. I haven't even given the background on the couple--let's just say it is all very appropriate what happened. They are uber-cheapskates and it is just ironic that now they've gotten a $20 wedding present in the end.....that I got for free. ;) It was meant to be.
Catherine--I didn't even want the refund, I just wanted my credit card number released so I could move on from the back-order. Amazing that this could be so difficult to correct. Ugh.
Stephanie--It was such a simple matter--just cancel the back-order. Who knew it would be herculean for Target???! Ugh.
You have me sold..I will never use them either! What a ridiculous nightmare!
I agree! Target DOES suck. They have been for awhile. I don't know what happened because I used to LIVE to go to Target...and now I find myself dreading it and trying to find every alternative. sad. I hope they revamp their customer service soon!!!
Melodie--Well, every has their own experience, but I just had to vent on mine. I would say if you were ordering something for yourself that you couldn't find elsewhere, maybe order through them. But just know that you are taking a gamble. Ugh!
peewee--I used to like Target too. I think they've been sold off in recent years and both their stores AND their online service is horrible. I don't shop at the store here unless I absolutely have to. The lines are horrendous!
We hiss in their general direction on your behalf.
(we don't actually have Target out here, so it's more of a conceptual hiss)
Ha! Well at least you got some resolution. I wouldn't go back either!
I love resolutions :) I do shop places again that I've had a lot of trouble with - sometimes.
And good for you for not giving up!
You drop kicked their ass to Kansas, gingah! Way to go. And I did enjoy how you ended her email for her: Love, Jennifer.
Excellent!
