Fired Up

As the temps are starting to dip at night, I finally took Hobbes' suggestion and lit the pilot light on the fireplace. So, there he sits now, in his basket, warming his belly in the evenings.

Hobbes long outgrew this basket and we are now onto an extra-large one that can hold his 47 pounds. Sigh. My little baby is all grown up.

Lordy, but I love that photo! Reminds me of my orange boy. (So how did you like my 7 things?)

My cats like to lay right in front of the heaters and hog all the heat! Hobbes looks very content.

Bonus: Hobbes Saturday. Since Hobbes Thursday was a few minutes late?

Love the picture of Hobbes. He sure knows how to kick back and relax. Right now I would love to crawl in that basket and curl up with him for a nap :)

Aw, Hobbes! You know how to "do firefplace."

Is he really 47 pounds? He looks very svelte to me. Where's all the chunk?

I am with Hobbes! Glad to hear that you lit the fireplace!

Well now...
Me thinks that Hobbes has 'relaxing' all figured out.
Belly up by a warm fire.
Yup...
Looks good to me! :)

Grace--LOVED your list, Grace. :) You really need to post some photos of your orange boy for me someday.

Helene--GOOD eyes, pally! You can spot his baby photos a MILE away! A true fan. :)

Karen--He loves the fireplace. He gets so warm that he oozes out of the basket to lay on the cool floor. He soon cools off and crawls back in to do it all over again. He lives a good life.

Vanilla--I was house cleaning this morning and I knew the pallies would be appeased with a Hobbes photo. ;) He's a crowd-pleaser.

Helene--If only we could get him to cooperate with the photo shoots, Helene.

Hot Rocks--He has a very good life! I used to have the remote for the fireplace handy until I went in there to find it mysteriously on--I swear that cat knows how to use the fireplace remote!!

Ann--He was outside today, sunning himself in that same pose. Now he is back in his basket warming his belly again by the fire. He is very spoiled.

Kathy--He does look small there because that is a kitten picture of him. He has long outgrown that basket! He is really 17 pounds, but it sure feels like 47 when you try to lift him or he sits on you. Ugh.

Stephanie--I put it off for the longest time--I was in total denial that winter was coming. It finally got too cold in the family room for both of us!

Catherine--Anything good, Hobbes has figured it out. :) He is a smart kitty.

That cat is just TOO funny- I guess he's not feeling too vulnerable, eh? He know where his bread is buttered.

Oh I just love Hobbes! He knows how to find the most enjoyment in everything! Love his stripey belly too!

Oh, Hobbes! Good thing the help has lit the fire for you!

Hobbes is a giant. Perhaps he need s a bigger dog bed. Cute, cute picture

Daisy said...

Hobbes knows when you get too warm, you just stick your feet out of the bed to cool off a bit!

His is too funny in his basket. We should all follow his lead and stretch out and relax no matter how ridiculous we look. LOL

Lin, I've done BB postings - here is a quick video of him the day after we brought him home ...what a hoot...see it HERE

I am laughing at Hobbes...that guy definitely knows how to relax!

I forgot to tell you...the other day, I took one of my "kittens" into the vet to get their yearly shots. Keep in mind that my "kittens" are now 2 yrs. old. My black & white boy weighed 15.5 lbs. I just about died! I told him that he is now the biggest cat in the neighborhood...ain't no cat gonna mess with MY homeboy! LOL

I understand how he feels. I was trapped in the small baby bed for few months before my mom bought real bed for me.

Sharky--I'll look out the window to check on him to find him laying like that in the mulch! He's sooo trusting!

Beaded Tail--He loves a toasted belleh more than anything. Hobbes has the best life, doesn't he?

Betty--I swear that cat can operate the remote for that thing! I've actually come into the room and found it on when no one else is in there. :O

Highway--I'm really, really hoping he doesn't get bigger, pally.

Daisy--Oh, Daisy, he "pours" out of his basket and lays on the cool floor. Then he gets chilly, climbs back in the basket and starts it all over again.

Petula--I'm with you, but I'm not sticking my bare belleh up in the air! ;)

Grace--Oh, how funny he is, Grace! And so at home! Naughty boy.

A.Marie--Oh, he's giving Hobbes a run for his money!! I don't think you can call him the kitten anymore!

V7--Hee!Hee! Poor Little Vanilla Seven! :P

Wow, that looks like my 47 LB. Langley trying to sit ANYWHERE!! Haha. He still tries to curl up in my lap but just ends up getting his front end on and the rest slips off. Sigh....

What a lucky kitty with a fire and everything!

Oh my, that is just too cute! We turned th eheat on last week and my cats likes to lie on top of the radiators to warm her belly:)

What a wonderful photo sweetie. No words needed, giggle.
Big Hugs!

Yup. A fire is guaranteed to calm our kitty down and keep his antics at bay while he zonks out in a fire coma much like your stripey love. I have about 200 pictures of our kitty doing the same belly poses ;0) I am convinced I was a cat in a former life - because I want to do all the silly things they get away with.

Lin said...

Nellie--Not yet! Wait until the kids leave and I'm an old woman all alone. I am soooo gonna be an old cat lady!! ;)

Nancy--Isn't it funny how they have no idea how large they are and how silly they look?! I actually put the fireplace on just for the kitties to warm their bellies. How spoiled are they?

Jennifer--Isn't it funny what they do to find the warmth? I wanna be a cat in my next life. :)

Katherine--:) Hobbes has a very good life.

Bumbles--You can find Hobbes either by the fire or out in the snow for the next few months. I don't get the snow fascination, but I do get the fire "coma". Heck, if I fit in that basket, I'd be in there too! Grab your basket and c'mon over, Bumbles!
