Go SuperFan!

Blame the late posting this morning on some beastly child who misplaced/stole my camera cord. Ugh. I hate kids.

Anywho....

Last night was Homecoming at the high school. And while I was prepared for less hiney pain, bringing my special "hiney" cushion, blankets, and loading up on muscle relaxants, I was NOT prepared for the SuperFan. The mere sight of SuperFan had me bustin'.

SuperFan is no other than our dear band parent pally, Bill. He was the lucky winner of the title last year at the end of the season party, winning the drawing. No, there was no real qualifications for the job--he was chosen by random. But there was no better choice for our first SuperFan, Bill is loved by everyone and up for fun all the time.

Running through the crowd, high-fiving everyone with his inflatable hand, Bill exemplifies what band is and who the band parents are. Always upbeat, joking, and up for fun, Bill is gonna be a tough act to follow. Being that his son is graduating at the end of this year, another SuperFan will need to be chosen to carry on the tradition.

That is one big inflatable hand to fill....

I assert my superiority. I don't need no stinkin' kids to misplace my camera cord-- I can do it all by myself!

Band parents rock. At least you and Bill do.

Bill looks like fun. It also looks like he's all set for his Halloween costume. I pity the next person who gets picked. I say they hold tryouts for it. They do for band, don't they?

I didn't know they had SuperFans like that at high school games. That would certainly make the game much more fun. Maybe Bill can mentor someone this year to carry on the tradition next year. Uhm, does Joe want to volunteer? :)

Better than trying to fill your inflatable hiney cushion....

I can't say anything after reading Pricilla's comment, that was just funny!

Last night was Homecoming here, too! My latest blog post has a picture of my nails that I 'Super-Fanned' for the occasion. The sparkles and green polish are gone today; I have to help facilitate an expert panel on End of Life issues tomorrow at church and I figured they were a little too...festive for the occasion.

I miss band.

I hope you get chosen as next year's super fan. You could totally rock that orange wig.

Bill is the proof we all need to say "band geek, HA!" Nope Bill says loyal and dedicated. May the inflatable hand never spring a leak.

Awh, every grand stand needs a guy like this! I'm sure he will be missed! BTW...is Emily a junior? Wondering how many more years of band you have!

Gotta love SuperFan...I agree with DG...you'd look super in that wig!!

Our band is going to be at U of I this year and I think that you said your's was also...that means we have totally got to get together that day!! I pinky-promise that I will NOT get sick on you like I did last year (darn Swine Flu!!) :)

Vanilla--Oh, I was gonna KILL that kid! I had to call him at college to find out where it was!!! He was lucky that it was in his room. Ugh.

Kathy--I think it is going to be hard to pick the next SuperFan. I don't think anyone is going to want to do it.

Beaded Tail--I don't think other schools have SuperFans--only us!! Normally the kids do something like that, but never a parent. He was funny--not too over the top, but just right. He was GREAT! Somehow, I don't think Joe is gonna wear an inflatable orange finger.

Pricilla--Hee! Hee! Hey, it helped a bit!

Melodie--Please don't encourage her, Melodie.

Shieldmaiden--Yeah, somehow green sparkly nail polish doesn't help with grieving. Band rocks, doesn't it? I don't get the folks who laugh at the band. They are missing out BIG TIME!

Sharky--Orange and Brown. Aren't those the worst colors EVER??! Nobody looks good in orange.

DG--Oh no! I can make a fool of myself without the wig. I think someone else needs the honor.

Jodi--He said that it took him nearly the whole game to figure out he could stick his hand in a little pocket in the back of that thing to High-five folks. He is hilarious!

Nancy--Em is a Sophmore, so we have another two years after this. THANK GOD! I am going to miss this dearly when it is over.

A.Marie--We ARE meeting up, A.Marie! I will not be wearing an orange wig. ;)

Catherine--It is! Isn't that awful for a school color??? Ugh. I hate wearing orange and brown gear for the games. NOT very flattering.

Wow I did not know the band had super fans. I assume a game is being played but I guess that may be inconsequential.

That's a HUGE hand. I wonder if I can pick my nose with that finger...

Highway--It's ALL about halftime, pally. Really.

V7--Sure, if you have a really big nose! ;)

LOL!! I was laughing at V7's comment!
I love the colour orange!!

Have a nice day, pally!
