I Love Hobbes Thursday - Stealth Cat

See, if you hide behind the chairs, the frogs can't see ya--
but you can see them.

For some reason, Hobbes thinks his 47 lbs of Stripey Goodness
is invisible sometimes.
Even the neighbor behind us admits to telling him
"You are orange. I see you."

His stripy goodness blends in with the shadows and legs of the outdoor furniture. Color is just a state of mind.

Now that is just the cutest!

Um, well, the stripey legs of the furniture blend into Hobbes' stripes. Sort of.

I believe he is behind that chair thinking of taking on the coons, not the frogs.

Hobbes is so clever. I love the way our animals "hide" from us.

Stealthy Hobbes the orange cat,
Tries to hide where e'er he's at.
On silent paws we see him glide,
He tries his best, but cannot hide.

I love that boy.

My car is smoking and being taken to mechanic, Alex didn't want to get on the kindergarten bus like I was pushing him to a death sentence and I come in to Febreeze all over my chair and the window and door open because as my boss likes to say about everyone-you stink. I'm not even a smoker whom she hates. Sitting in wet Febeeze is loads of fun. If I don't leave this job soon I am going to quit.

The stripes blend in so well though! No wonder he thinks he can't be seen. It's like the zebra in a plain brown landscape... I think they would disappear better in tall grasses.

Silly Hobbes. The Farm cats are the same way.

Maybe he thinks he's a chameleon cat?

If Hobbes believes it that's all that really matters :)

That is just adorable! I love that guy!

It must be the blue collar that gives him away!

Highway--Poor Hobbes thinks he's a chameleon!

Violet--He's goofy, that cat. :)

Daisy--Yeah, if you squint your eyes and stand back about a block away. Hee! Hee! ;)

Jodi--Oh, no! Those coons are SCARY, Jodi!

Vanilla--Hobbes has no idea how big or how orange he is, pally.

Catherine--He's finally given up on the butterflies.

Harriet--He's not really that big--he just appears that way! He's only about 17 lbs. I LOVE this weather!! How about you?

Linda--See above. Now 21 lbs is HUGE!! WOW!

Grace--Yeah, I think it was the first time I sorta liked something that came out of a neighbor's mouth.

Chuck--DANG! That is GOOD!

Helene--I wish they'd fire you so you could be outta there and you could collect unemployment. That job sucks, Helene.

Sharky--Oh, he tries that too. Poor Hobbes thinks he's invisible to the rest of us.

Pricilla--I think all cats are that way. Like we don't see them?? Yeah/no.

Chocolate--Hahaha! That's what I thought too. :)

Ann--We all just humor him.

Tracy--I think Hobbes and Ginger could take over the world!

Beaded Tail--Or his tail! ;)

Oh I was about to say, wow 47 lb cat time to call Guiness Book of World Records. And he carries it so well, I think my 8 year old is only 50-something!

June Zach said...

You can run but you cannot hide Hobbes! LOL

VanillaSeven said...

We saw you Hobbes.. yes we saw you.

Lin said...

Lauren--Nah, but he sure feels like it when he sits on my chest every morning. :)

June Zach--He tries to hide, but that orange gives him away every time!

Vanilla--The funny thing is if I call him and he's in the yard, you'll hear "Mew" from behind some hosta leaves or behind a bush. He just can't help but give himself away!
