The yard is swarmed with Admirals and when they aren't landing on us, they are tormenting the cats. Hobbes hasn't landed one yet. "Yet" being the key word in that sentence.
Daisy--He's really trying, Daisy. He LOVES to watch those butterflies.
Vanilla--Well, I hope not. It's funny to watch him try to get them, but it would make me feel bad if he got one.
Melodie--It's hilarious to watch his 17 lb frame leaping after teeny tiny butterflies.
Princess--He does this ALL day long! He is exhausted at night after spending the whole day watching these things.
Sharky--He chases them and then crashes for a bit in the shade of the hostas. It's funny because he doesn't leave our yard too much--I think he has all the entertainment in the world right here.
A.Marie--He is a hoot to watch, A.Marie. His little head goes this way and that watching their every move. I swear they are teasing him.
Chuck--It's a trial when you are so big too! He's exhausted from chasing them all day.
Roschelle--Well, we don't want him to really catch one....
Grace--Those Admirals have eyes on the back of their heads. They seem to fly away just in the nick of time!
Pricilla--Ick! I'm glad Hobbes only goes after the flying things. I suppose a good mouser is good on the farm, right?
Ann--Oh, it's a big game between him and those butterflies. He wears himself out and then he takes a nap under the hostas. Soon enough, it begins again.
Highway--Well, it isn't working! He's one BIG boy!
Jodi--Sammy is actually intimidated by Hobbes. I think he tried to chase the kitties once and he got the bad end of their claws. Never again did he try. Now he walks the long way around the kitties! :)
Beaded Tail--They are! It's funny to watch them tease those kitties. Even Grace got buzzed the other night.
Sparkle--Yeah, that's what I am afraid of.
Vanilla7--It is, except he isn't losing any weight! He loves the adventure.
I just think life is more fun if we notice the little stuff and laugh...a LOT. I'm lucky to live with a family who humors me, joins in the fun and tolerates me most days.
I have a wee house and yard, but it is loaded with adventures. There isn't a backyard pond owner out there who has more stories about her frogs, snails, fish than me. And I don't even make this stuff up!
I'm glad you are here to laugh with me. Welcome, pallies!

Happy hunting, Hobbes!
Yes, he will!
Hobbes,the mighty hunter!
yep, anytime now. I can tell by his stance.
Ever the vigilant Hobbes (except when napping)
Hobbes is just too cute! :)
Life can be a trial when you're such a pretty boy . . .
Keep at it buddy...you'll get 'em!

Stalking the wild butterflies...Shhhh!
Heh. Give him time. It's all practice leading up to the big finale.
Sherpa brought me a mouse yesterday. Little bugger keeps escaping. Turns out he's good hunter. *sigh*
Well at least it's nice to know that Hobbes has goals, and he's on a mission.
It is like an enforced Hobbes exercise program.
Weiner dog already let the Admirals know Hobbes is all talk and no game.
Admirals are the best kind of kitty entertainment!
Once he learns the trick to butterfly wrangling, those Admirals won't be laughing anymore.
Good exercise for Hobbes. I believe he enjoying it :)
