I Love Hobbes Thursday

Hobbes: Orange Stripey, ottoman look-alike, party planner.

Always a huge help in whatever I'm doing, Hobbes was right there for party preparations a few weeks ago. He wiggled around folding chairs, sniffed the sun tents, and poked flower arrangements.

He even provided the entertainment--walking the fence for amazed (and impressed) party guests. It's like going to Disney and going to one of those character dinners.

He's a character alright.

Isn't it nice to have such a helper? To be there for the planning, setup and then entertains the guests? The party has a price tag, but Hobbes is priceless.

Hey, Lin - I bet he would be impressed with Ginger sitting on the backs of furniture! What do you think?

Le Roi ensconced on his throne! How appropriate. 'Helping' by giving directions?

wv: 'perish'--oh, no.

It is not a party without a cat.

He look like he should be wearing a little black bow tie!

Maybe Hobbes has a future as a party planner. He seems to know how to pay attention to all the little details.

And isn't he a damn cute character. And he probably works for cheap.

Daisy--I think he loved having the party here as much as we did.

Princess--Disney's got nuthin' on my Orange Stripey--especially when he is fence-walking!

Grace--He LOVED the tents we had up. Spent half the day sleeping under the tables. Goofy cat!

Merry--As long as you eat outside in the grass, he's more than willing to join you. He LOVES company out in the yard, Merry.

Helene--Hee! Hee! I think there is a weed or two in the garden if that makes you feel better.

Chuck--You should have heard everyone making a huge fuss over him walking the fence! Especially when his big belly went over the pointy fence posts. :)

Tracy--Oh yes! I think he and Ginger would get a long GREAT! They could both hang out on the couch together. (Ginger ROCKS!)

Vanilla--He kept "helping" by battling the zipper too. Sigh. Evil zipper!

Pricilla--What's that song? "Everybody wants to be a cat" from Disney's "Aristocats". Yep, that's Hobbes.

Melodie--Hahaha! He disappeared for most of the day, but when he finally came home, it was like a homecoming party for Hobbes. The crowd was ooohing and ahhhing over him. He soaked it up like a charmer.

Ann--Yes, he beat the zipper pull of that tent into submission! Saved us all from the Evil Zipper.

Casey--Not if you count having to buy cat food! Or his medical bills this past spring. Ugh. But he is so darn cute, I forgive him for all that. AND he's a big helper.

Karen--Aw, he makes me laugh, that guy. He certainly won the party crowd over with his antics.

My human wants to trade a character meal with Hobbes for a character meal with Binga. Keep in mind that this is not an even deal: Binga's idea of being charming is jumping on the table and tasting the guests' food!

A breakfast with Hobbes would be the best character breakfast ever!

I totally covet your backyard. lol

I'm with Merry, I'd pay for a breakfast with Hobbes! He is something, alright.

Wait just a minute here. He's clearly testing the upwind smells and potential drafts of that tent. People would pay good money for his services, missy.

Ginger doesn't like dogs, expect a few that are smaller then her but you know - I don't think she's seen a cat so, hmmmm... In any case even if it doesnt work they can each pick a high narrow spot and just glare, I suppose! lol

Sparkle--Oh, that kitty is BAD! Hobbes doesn't do that--he is just very entertaining with his tricks. Oh, and his poundage. Folks really seem to like his poundage for some reason.

Beaded Tail--Dinner is better because if we eat outside, he is always up to something in the yard. He chases butterflies or climbs the fence from the neighbors yard. You hear some horrific scratching and soon you see an orange face appearing on the other side. For a big boy, he can sure scale a fence!

Storm--The yard is SMALL! When I say the "back 40", I mean feet not acres! It is nice though, with lots of flowers and such. Do you want pancakes or eggs?

CardioGirl--And he tested the safety of that zipper pull! He was obsessed with the zipper pull until I lifted him up to smell the darn thing! Ugh. He is a very thorough inspector.

Catherine--The crowd kept asking about him, but he was hiding out for the longest time. He finally made an appearance and the crowd went nuts!! Everyone wanted to touch him. Sigh. The rest of us are chopped liver when it comes to Hobbes.

Tracy--We dog sit and the kitties sort of bully poor Sammy. They still have their nails, so when they establish their territory, the poor dog knows it. I think Ginger would just sort of hang out with them--after they sorted out whose house it was and such.
