I have a wee house and yard, but it is loaded with adventures. There isn't a backyard pond owner out there who has more stories about her frogs, snails, fish than me. My little dog says until the oppressive heat breaks, here in STL, life is hardly enjoyable. I think this human agrees with Uli.

Catherine--I think Banjo lives a life like Hobbes. Sheesh, these cats have it made!
Casey--Life is good for Hobbes. I wish I lived half as good as he. Except he has to lick his butt to get it clean.
Daisy--We had a big party here over the weekend, Daisy, and Hobbes was sucking up all the attention. All the women were fawning all over that stripey guy!! He does have a very good life.
Jodi--Yeah, but Uli can sit in the air conditioning, no? Back in the day, our dog stayed outside ALL day--no air for us OR him. And he liked it! Tell Uli she is darn lucky!
Veronica--You never know where life is gonna lead us--you may just meet his stripeyness someday. I will warn you though--he is very heavy!!

Lin, you just flashed me back to my childhood house in Oak Forest that had no A/C. Uli said to tell you she loves A/C and cool ceramic tile floors.
Cats are very wise about A. napping and B. enjoying life.
That is why God sends them to us, to be examples of enjoying the moment!

A great quote. Humans sometimes think too much for their own good. Hobbes has it exactly right, but as a human disguised as a rat I'd find other ways to enjoy myself. Maybe a nice piece of cheddar cheese.
Nothing like bathing ones self in the sun. Not!!! Well at least not me but for Hobbes, why not?

DG--The odd thing about Hobbes is that he will only eat cat food and NEVER human food. You wouldn't guess that, would you?

I agree. Ginger's more needy now as she's aged. She does get up a lot, A LOT at night but really... shes old you know? Ginger is just happy sit in the sun more. Warm her little old bones.

Highway--He got up and walked away after I took the photo, so I doubt he would have tolerated a belly rub. But it's always worth the try. :) (I can't resist it either!)
