Catherine--I think Banjo lives a life like Hobbes. Sheesh, these cats have it made!
Casey--Life is good for Hobbes. I wish I lived half as good as he. Except he has to lick his butt to get it clean.
Daisy--We had a big party here over the weekend, Daisy, and Hobbes was sucking up all the attention. All the women were fawning all over that stripey guy!! He does have a very good life.
Jodi--Yeah, but Uli can sit in the air conditioning, no? Back in the day, our dog stayed outside ALL day--no air for us OR him. And he liked it! Tell Uli she is darn lucky!
Veronica--You never know where life is gonna lead us--you may just meet his stripeyness someday. I will warn you though--he is very heavy!!
Cats are very wise about A. napping and B. enjoying life. That is why God sends them to us, to be examples of enjoying the moment! Your comment on my blog about the church sign that said "sign broken, message inside" was wonderful. That is a brilliant sign.
A great quote. Humans sometimes think too much for their own good. Hobbes has it exactly right, but as a human disguised as a rat I'd find other ways to enjoy myself. Maybe a nice piece of cheddar cheese.
DG--The odd thing about Hobbes is that he will only eat cat food and NEVER human food. You wouldn't guess that, would you?
Melodie--But he gets points for being so flexible when he is so large. Heck, I can barely reach my toes!
Lola--That was my favorite post for the day!! I love how smiley you are with Hobbes. :) It's gonna be the new craze on the net that I Love Hobbes Thursday.
Chuck--I love how mellow kitties are. I need to work on that and just hanging out without doing anything. They are smart, aren't they?
Don--You need to come back as a cat in my house. Gees, they've got the life.
Vanilla--Why does it take us all so long to figure this out?
Helene--Did you forget to set your alarm???! Yikes.I think you have a great idea, although I'm not sure Hobbes is up for all that lovin'. Cats only tolerate so much, you know.
Princess Stupidhead--Are you a Hobbes fan too??! He is getting waaayyyy too popular. Sigh. Sad when the cat day is your best day on the blog. ;)
A.Marie--He isn't fat, believe it or not. Even Lola commented on how he is just BIG. and heavy. ;)
Grace--I think you are right. But he doesn't have his attitude. Hobbes is much more lovey.
Betty--We all need to learn from Hobbes. He's living the good life.
Jodi--Oak Forest??! Really??!! No freaking way. We are in Crestwood/Loserville!! You know, none of us really had A/C back in the day. We were hot and we liked it. I'm with Uli--A/C and cool tile. ahhhhh.
Terra--We are all guilty of running too much. I like Hobbes' message of chilling just a little bit more. I'm gonna work on that!
Tracy--I know, I spoil my guys too. But really, what do they ask for?? They never get mad at you and they are always there to be your friend. Heck, I love my kitties more than people most days.
Ann--Between Hobbes and Duke, they have got life mastered. We are the fools, aren't we?
Pricilla--No kidding. I realized that with your photos today too. I'll bet your kitties love all that yurt space. :)
Ratty--I think we are too guilty of running the rat race (no pun intended) every single day of our lives. We have to make the conscience effort to stop the madness and just breathe every so often.
Chocolate--Hobbes loves the yard, especially if I'm out there with him. I think the sun had started to set and the grass was cool. He loves the cool grass. :)
Natalee--He has a good life, eh? :)
Janiss--I just wish I could reach my belleh!! Fur and all, I think he's got a great life. If he gets too warm, he just goes in to the A/C.
Sparkle--No kidding! I'm with the kitties on this one--they have the right idea on relaxing. :)
Beaded Tail--Hobbes Thursday is my most popular day on the blog. That says something, doesn't it??? :)
I agree. Ginger's more needy now as she's aged. She does get up a lot, A LOT at night but really... shes old you know? Ginger is just happy sit in the sun more. Warm her little old bones.
Storm--Right after your gang, right?! ;) Our animals have it good.
Roschelle--He's like the Dalai Lama of cats. :) We just have to follow his lead. Except for the belly licking part.
CG--And to think you were this close to touching that orange stripey fur. Sigh. You are gonna have to plan another trip, pally.
Highway--He got up and walked away after I took the photo, so I doubt he would have tolerated a belly rub. But it's always worth the try. :) (I can't resist it either!)
Tracy--I get that. Heck, I'm getting up more at night too. :) I love Ginger.
I just think life is more fun if we notice the little stuff and laugh...a LOT. I'm lucky to live with a family who humors me, joins in the fun and tolerates me most days.
I have a wee house and yard, but it is loaded with adventures. There isn't a backyard pond owner out there who has more stories about her frogs, snails, fish than me. And I don't even make this stuff up!
I'm glad you are here to laugh with me. Welcome, pallies!

Oh indeed ~ life as a well loved cat ~ does it get any better? Nope... I don't think so.
Have a Happy Thursday Lin & Hobbes!
xo Catherine & Banjo
And that orange stripey guy looks like he gets a lot of enjoyment. So damn cute and so flexible!
Hobbes, I see you are wringing every last bit of enjoyment out of every moment! Life is good.
My little dog says until the oppressive heat breaks, here in STL, life is hardly enjoyable. I think this human agrees with Uli.
But, I'm happy Hobbes is stretched out in the yard smiling at summer
:-)
How I wish I could meet our orange stripey friend here in person!! I'm so envious of Lola. Next life, huh?

There is more than a subtle hint of Garfield in that pose. Does he eat lasagna?
Hmmm...Hobbs seem to be caught a lot in rather risque positions!
Be sure to stop by for my version of I Love Hobbes Thursday. http://lolasdiner.blogspot.com/2010/06/i-love-hobbes-thursday-lolas-diner.html
And yes, Hobbes is very heavy.
How I envy our furry feline friends' ability to flop down and take a nap. Anywhere. Anytime.
If there is a afterlife, I want to come back as a well cared for Cat!
PLU!
I am so glad I have reached this Hobbes-like stage of life!
Yikes! I'm late!
Lin- You could sell tickets ya know. The new version of Charlie Brown's kissing booth or something. Hugs with Hobbes.
It's just not Thursday without Hobbes.
Awwww....Hobbes isn't fat...He's just fluffy!!! lol
Love that cat; he certainly knows how to enjoy life! :)
Hobbes is definitely looking Garfieldian in that photo :)
I love Hobbe too!! He knows how to live!
Lin, you just flashed me back to my childhood house in Oak Forest that had no A/C. Uli said to tell you she loves A/C and cool ceramic tile floors.
Cats are very wise about A. napping and B. enjoying life.

A lot of people say, if I come back in the next life, I want to come back as your dog.
Watching her sit in her muffins, and me cooking for her... and putting the ottomans near the window and all...
We spoil them but really, they have it pretty good anyway :)
And Hobbes sure does look like he's enjoying. Love the quote
Cats got the life

Nothing like bathing ones self in the sun. Not!!! Well at least not me but for Hobbes, why not?
awww he is sooooo cute
I dunno, my idea of enjoyment isn't laying in the grass wearing a fur coat and no sunscreen and licking my belly. Just sayin'.
Don't listen to my human. She is clueless.
Very true and we absolutely enjoy seeing Hobbes! He always brings us joy!

LOL I think Hobbes lives the life, indeed! :)
Hoping to learn something from the big stripey guy :)
Excellent extension on the back leg. The American judges give that an 8.7.
That is a sweet fuzzy orange belly that begs to be rubbed.

That's is really indecent pose of him Lin. I even have to close my eyes when I saw this vulgar pose...
Keep it coming :D
