Dear Summer.....

Dear Summer.....

Uh, could you slow down just a bit. You see, you are exhausting me! I thought once you came I would be able to sit and visit with you a bit. I thought we could just relax and hang out by the pond and perhaps read a book.

All of the parties/BBQs/visits/picnics are so much fun--but every weekend?! I don't have time for things like laundry and breathing because of this. While it is a blast, I really would enjoy some time, just you and me, to chill in the hammock in the back yard.

Do you think we could work on this? Can you slow the pace just a tad and see to it that I actually open the two books on my nightstand? I would really appreciate it. I don't think this is too much to ask, really.

Thanks,

Me

P.S. Hobbes loves you!

Oh, I do so hope things slow down, the hammock is occupied, and the books are read.

Ah beautiful summer. Warm and gentle. But so demanding. No time for rest. Got to hurry. Got to scurry. Thud.

I agree now that the weather has turned warm I don't have time to barely think with all the things that I need to do! LOL

It does seem to be flying a little fast. I looked at the calendar and realized that tomorrow is the first of July already. What's up with that, what happened to June?

Dear Summer: Go away! What did you do with Spring, huh? And if you do anything to harm Fall, action will have to be taken. Beware Summer, your days are numbered.

Sincerely yours,

If only we didn't have to work think of all the extra time we'd have! I hope you are able to find time to slow down and enjoy the holiday weekend!

Dear Summer, please move to another part of the country and leave us alone. We are sweltering in our own body goo, thank you.

Vanilla--Me too! I'm gonna work on just relaxing and reading blogs this weekend. I can't wait!!

Chuck--Isn't it crazy?? I think the grass has an evil plot to keep me moving and mowing. I'm gonna lie on it this weekend and show it who's boss.

Melodie--It's been a fun busy, but busy all the same. I'm hoping to just relax this coming weekend. I can't wait!

V7--Bummer! It's been raining here too, but in between it is hot and sticky. I wish I could just enjoy the hot and sticky on a lounge chair at the pool.

Stephanie--Isn't it crazy?? The lawn, the gardens, the pond--they are all calling for my attention. Add in some parties and I'm frazzled!

Pricilla--Remember when we were kids and summer lasted forever?? I miss those days.

Ann--That's what I mean! It's crazy, isn't it??

Grace--Ooooh, you are tough talkin' Summer! I usually don't like Summer, but I want this one to slow down so I can enjoy my kids being home together. It's already the 4th of July! Yikes!

Beaded Tail--Work just gets in the way, right? I'm gonna make it a point to just hang out this weekend and visit all the blogs I love. I miss that lately.

Violet--No kidding!! I actually saw back-to-school stuff creeping into the stores!! Noooooo!

Lin,

I think summer is only slow when your nine years old... sadly

While you're at it, can you have summer cool it on the heat a bit? We went to the zoo this morning and it was a freaking sauna. Serves us right for trying something other than the pool.

Betty--No comment as of yet. I guess it is too busy kicking my butt to answer.

Tracy--No kidding. Sigh. Maybe if I went out and played some jump rope.....

Casey--We nearly died in Florida, so I can't imagine what you put up with down there daily. Yikes! Anything other than the pool is nuts!
