I have one graduation party left to attend and we are through. Whew! Since the end of finals and graduation, life has been a whirlwind with the Disney trip, summer school starting, Driver's Ed four nights a week, catching up at work, and our own graduation party to plan. It's been madness.
We had a lovely bash yesterday with a small crowd cramming into the back 40. Col was pleased as punch to have a ton of family and lots of friends over to help him celebrate his accomplishments. Thank goodness the weather was lovely--I was freaking earlier in the week trying to figure out how we were gonna cram 50 plus people into a house that would hold 25, all the while keeping a hopeful eye on the Weather Channel. Okay, so neighborhood trees were downed the night before--we had nothing but sunshine and puffy white clouds for our day, thank goodness.
There are no photos of the day, instead we opted to just visit and hang out with those we love. We also opted to down 4 batches of Sangria, so you know it was a good time. It was great to just hang out and laugh with everyone after the past few weeks of madness.
So, while my body aches from moving tables, tents, chairs, and coolers, my heart is full from being with those we love. It was nice to have the best of the best in my life here for my son--to share in his day and to make him feel special. I count myself blessed.
On another note--who wants a left-over fajita?

Sometimes the best times are the ones you don't photograph.
Congratulations to Col!
And a lovely time was had by all...
Glad to hear that the party was a success :) Enjoy your summer!
And I was hoping for a picture or two of Sangria Lin.
Good for you for enjoying the day.
Congratulations to Colin.
Enjoy your summer...really enjoy it!
Sounds like a fun time! I'll have a left-over fajita!! :)
So, the rest of your summer? And just in time, too, because summer doesn't officially begin until tomorrow! Enjoy.
That's a lot of sangria.
Hope you're enjoying the summer weather.
Congratulations to all. I'm glad the weather was good.
Glad you've been enjoying family, friends and fun! Sometimes cameras just aren't necessary to capture the memories of the moment.
glad to hear you had a good time and good weather. Enjoy the rest of the summer
JD--Yep, you are right! I quit videotaping years ago when I realized I was missing life. I have the memories in my heart.
Grace--And a lot of booze. ;)
Stephanie--I wish summers were lazy again--like the old days. When did kids and adults get so over-scheduled?
Jodi--Oh, that would have been ugly! Nah, I wasn't sloppy--just relaxed. Really, really relaxed.
Pricilla--I miss the days when the kids were little and I stayed home. We'd just sleep in and hang out at the house or pool. Sigh. I miss those days!
A. Maria--Two fajitas coming up! They are just as good warmed up on day two. Yum!! Would you like some sangria with that??
Vanilla--Whew! I'm glad I didn't lose any of that official "Summer" time! Glad you popped in, pally!
Harriet--Oh, yes it is a lot of Sangria! ;) I had a little help drinking it though.
Marilynne--All around us trees were down and power is STILL out in places. Yes, we were very lucky to have a nice day. Whew! I was panicking there for a bit.
Beaded Tail--It seems the only time I am taking photos these days is for the blog! Life is a blog post, I say.
I do! I do! It will go perfectly with my homemade salsa!
I loved hearing about Col's celebration!
Now that you mention it, left over sounds better than slightly used. :)
I've been putting away the camera in favor of fun lately too. Better times but no record of it. That's ok.
Glad you had a fun day, congrats again to Col!
