More ukulele tunes, mostly because I like typing that word

There are some really good ukulele tunes out there too. Here's some Iz for ya to ponder on today. Stick through the video to really appreciate the beauty of Hawaii and a gentle soul who left us too soon.

Happy weekend, pallies. Go outside and look for rainbows. See beyond the concrete and fences and your wacky neighbors. Look for beauty in your surroundings, there is always something good to be found.

What a beautiful voice he had. At the end, are they pouring his cremains into the sea?

Chuck--Yeah. I mean the guy is screaming heart attack, but still, it is sad that he died so young.

Such a beautiful rendition of the song and the coolest use of a ukelele to date.

Hawaiian music is beautiful. Some people just can't get past the stereotype.

My absolute favorite version of Over the Rainbow EVER. I discovered a number of years ago and have a couple of his cd's.

I'd never heard of him until now. Thank you for spreading some cheer this way. What a beautiful rendition of the song. I love it.

Never heard of him till just now but man what a voice. I love how his funeral? was a celebration rather than a sad and somber ceremony

Lovely rendition of the song! I hadn't heard of him before and it's sad to lose such a beautiful voice too soon.

Enjoy your weekend!

Iz was the BEST! As much as I love that song, it always makes me sad though.

I missed your anniversary so here's all the best wishes for many more years together!! Hey, I say if you're finding rainbows together (awww, that song!) then don't mess with a good thing!! And p.s. I got the cat door...AND a circulating fountain for my meow friends...thanks for the tip!

The song was so beautiful I had to find out more about him. Can you imagine having lived your life so well that over 10,000 people showed up for your funeral.

In his biography it said that he'd had a very rough childhood, ended up using drugs and then turned his life around

DG--Isn't it lovely?? It's so sad though. I hope Em learns to play as well.

Pricilla--It's so sad that he died so young because of his weight. Such a beautiful talent!

Grace--I have one that I like too. His voice is so sweet and his songs lovely. This song makes me cry.

Petula--Isn't it nice?

Chocolate--Go look him up on Youtube. He has an equally lovely version of "What a Wonderful World".

Sharky--LOL! Let us know what you find.

Ann--Me too. Wouldn't that be great if all funerals were that way?? He was well-loved in Hawaii.

Highway--I look for them everyday. Some days we need them more than others.

Beaded Tail--He is VERY popular in Hawaii, needless to say. Go look up "What a Wonderful World" on youtube--it is just as lovely.

Storm--Me too! The way he sings it touches me.

WillOaks--Thanks for the anniversary wishes. :) So, did the kitties all figure out the door?? My Grace took MONTHS to do it--mainly because she wanted someone to just open the door for her! I found singing Salt N Pepa's "Push It" helped. Well, mainly me mostly. ;)

Ozark Mtn Cats--Wasn't he fabulous?? I have one of his CD's that I really enjoy, although this song makes me cry.

Vanilla7--See? Ukulele's can be GREAT! I hope Em learns to play as well. I'll join in on the fun, you can count on me!

I went to Hawaii as a kid several times and I've seen his videos although I don't remember why. A lovely soul indeed.

I always remember Hawaii as the place I want to live. The place I go in my head. Someone I knew once came home from a vacation and said, I pictured you there don't know why I didn't picture anyone else there.

Yea, me too. Thanks for the visit home

Beautiful. I didn't (honestly) think I was going to watch the whole video, but I loved it. Thanks for sharing!

We've been outside all weekend sans ukulele but I do love the sound of em. Hope your weekend was great, Lin.

Tracy--That's weird. I wonder if you lived there in a past life or something. I'll ask the Dalai Lama the next time I see him. :)

Cute--It's a sweet rendition, isn't it? I'm glad you stuck it out.

Casey--Well, lately Em's been trying to learn hers and it isn't always so pretty sounding, but she is getting there. :)

His music is soothing and wonderful. Couldn't help myself but I almost got teary eyes watching this clip. So touching! ^_^
Thanks a lot for the share Lin!

JuneZach--I know! The song is sort of sad, and then you see his ashes being poured into the ocean. Criminy! It makes me cry.
