I Love Hobbes Thursday

Sunday was not only Easter,
it was also a perfect day for....

A Ribbon Dancer Smack-down.

Which is big fun if you are orange and stripey.

He wrestled that rainbowy piece of ribbon
into submission.
The world is once again safe.

Wowie, Hobbes! That's like rasslin' with a giant SNAKE! Very impressive.

Can't top Daisy's comment :-)

Whoa! Hobbes is sharply contrastaed against the greenness of your grass. It's barely april, how'd you get such a plush rug so soon?

Like DG, I do love that boy, but I was absolutely struck by how lush that lawn is.

How is that?

Sweet Hobbes looks to have had a most enjoyable day ~ sunshine, green grass and a beautiful ribbon to chase ~ such fun!

I noticed that too but was too asleep yet to say anything. That's summer grass. 20 miles or so north of you and I don't see anything like that around here.

Orange stripey goodness and green lush grass...what a terrific combo! :)

What a cat!

[Heavens if the lawns are growing that fast, I'll have miffed neighbors-- didn't make arrangements for any mowing.]

OK - My first really big smile of the day! Thanx!

(oh my, people are commenting on the lawn - never noticed it. You see how much I am not a "nature" person?)

Hobbes continues as master of his space.

For all the lawn lovers (not to be confused with land lubbers), it is the warm weather and spring rains that have come a bit early to the Great Lakes region. It's almost that bad, er ah, lush here in west Michigan.

Daisy--Hee! Hee! That is EXACTLY what he thinks he's doing! See how he sneaks up on it while it's not looking??

Helene--No kidding. That cracked me up!

DG--Our yard is really small--it is easy to get it looking good. And believe it or not, this is BEFORE Joe fertilized.

CG--I don't know, but I can only think because it is so small, it is easy to good care of it. And we've had a lot of rain and warm sunshine this spring. Or it's just that the grass is greener by Hobbes.

Catherine--Oh, his little heart was pumping and couldn't catch his breath after chasing it back and forth a thousand times! It's sort of a cat workout I guess. I love how he sneaks up on it.

Helene--Well, summer grass is a little more brown I think. We've had lots of warm sunshine and rain this spring--that helps a ton. Uh--can I mention that Joe fertilized AFTER this photo was taken?

A.Marie--And a day resting at home--you can't beat that!! Hobbes is happiest when someone is with him.

Vanilla--Uh oh. I know here we can't make the neighbors happy no matter what, so I kinda quit trying.

Grace--Well, I'm glad you like the photos today. I think you should come visit me and I'll let you walk barefoot in that lawn. :)

Chuck--Shhhhhh. I'm letting them think we are really, really good at taking care of the lawn!!

Aren't cats the most entertaining creatures one can have?

It is good to know we are safe from orange ribbons!

It is snowing.
Can Hobbes do something about that?

Ann said...

HOORAY for Hobbes, he's my hero :)

Lin said...

LJ--Yes, they are. Although I did have a couple of really hilarious hamsters in my day too.

Pricilla--Well, no. He would prefer to hunker inside the warm house than battle the snow at this point. He did his best attacking the snow this winter, but now he has moved on to Ribbon Dancers. You gotta pick your battles.

Ann--Yes, he is saving us all from the Evil Ribbon Dancer. Hooray!

Hi Lin :)

Love those shots of Hobbes having fun! And my, your lawn is really pretty. Well trimmed too... reminds me of the golf course... hehe

I love how he's stalking from that step. Perfectly crouched and ready to pounce. Looks like he was having so much fun. As cute as ever!

It's safe to come back now. I've sent the kitty on home.

Long Live Hobbes! Yay! :D

He still need to defeat evil villain who held that ribbon...

BeadedTail said...

Was he doing the stalking and butt wiggling as he hunted that ribbon snake? Hobbes is like a ray of orange stripey sunshine and always makes me smile!

Thank you so much for letting us know that Hobbes is always on the job (not that we didn't already know it). We love that boy :) Ribbon is as fun as yarn!

Great photos of the tiger attacking his prey!

Mine are too lazy - sigh!
