It is so amazing that dew drops or rain drops stay in such perfect little round balls. I wonder why or how. Hmmm....perhaps if I hadn't skipped out of so many science classes in highschool I would know why! :(
It surface tension that forms those little round balls. So some tension is good. Here's hoping you avoid emotional tension and that if you have any tension that only be on the surface.
I love those too! I used to have some in the front and was just looking for them...looks like when the housing assn. took a tree out they went too. I was so bummed :( Im going to need some more of them
I think we all notice it but you're the only one who can put it into words and make us appreciate it. ;)
I've missed you, Lin! My FIL passed away and we all went to PA for a week and I was a single parent for the week before that while Jamie was up there at the hospital. Fun stuff. Hope you guys are all ok!
I wonder about things like that all the time. I'm wondering now if you have ever gotten down pretending to be tiny and tried to drink those drops...lol
June Zach--Look at you #1 today!! I'm not sure it is poetry or just blogging in centering mode. I like to do that every so often to mix it up. :) Isn't it cool how the water droplets just sit there???
Catherine--I guess I don't need to know why, but I do know I find them beautiful. And they are very tiny--I don't know if you can see that.
Melodie--Me too! I love to think that a little bug stops to drink out of this little nature's teacup. :) It's a sweet thought, isn't it??
Grace--Is that a bah humbug I hear???
Chuck--Tension?? Well that doesn't sound so dreamy or lovely. I guess I'm better off not knowing how it happens, but just that it does happen.
Tracy--I like sedum because you can just snap off a branch and stick it in the ground and they root all by themselves. They are a great hardy little plant. And they have lovely color in the fall.
Casey--Oh, I'm so sorry about your FIL! That is sooo sad. Tell Jamie that I am very sorry for his (and your) loss. I think things like that teach you to appreciate and enjoy silly little things in life and to slow down a bit too. It is a hard lesson that we too often forget.
Pricilla--I kind of like not knowing how it all happens. I'd like to think that God knew some little snail or bug just needed a place to drink. :)
StarCake--Welcome, new pally! I like your Thumbelina thought too. :) That is sweet.
Ann--Well, I know that if I'm ever on that Man VS Wild show, I'd know where to find water if I didn't have any. :) See--it's pretty AND useful!
Natalee--Oh, that darn camera makes me look at things a different way. And it allows me to get really close and capture some really cool tiny things.
No, that was a "Dry scientific answers would take away from the lyrical nature of your post and therefor I shall refrain from spoiling the moment and I truly hope you have a great week" type of comment.
I've thought of some very similar things. I love seeing little round dew drops all over everything. I could examine them for hours if not for interruptions.
I just think life is more fun if we notice the little stuff and laugh...a LOT. I'm lucky to live with a family who humors me, joins in the fun and tolerates me most days.
I have a wee house and yard, but it is loaded with adventures. There isn't a backyard pond owner out there who has more stories about her frogs, snails, fish than me. And I don't even make this stuff up!
I'm glad you are here to laugh with me. Welcome, pallies!

Yay! I make to comment first!
Wonderful snapshot and poetry. I've not seen a similar photo like this one ever yet. ^_^

Wonderful photo!
xo Catherine
I love when my mind slips to thoughts like that...takes me back to the wonderment of childhood.
The answer to the dew drop question is not as lyrical as your post so I'll pass on that. It's Monday - have a great week!

LOve this picture!!!!!!!!!!! you have a wonderful eye!!!
I notice the dew after Sadie comes in with wet paws. I think I need to slow down and take more time to enjoy the beauty of nature.

I believe Hobbes noticed that too :) Have a great day Lin :)
Beaded Tail--I like to notice things like that--it forces me to slow down a bit. Hard to do most times, though, right?
Vanilla7--Hobbes would plop down on those if I showed it to him. I have to be careful to enjoy things without his big orange frame around. :)

Lovely thought and photo, Lin!
A dew drop can also start a forest fire when it magnifies the sun's ray in a very dry forest. Saw that once on National Geographic.
Grace--In the great words of Emily Litella "Oh. Nevermind." :)
Ratty--And evaporation. :)
Veronica--Really??! Wow. Who knew?!
What a great photo, Lin! I love the contrast of soft green dewy leaves sprouting up through the dry brown ground.
I love it too. Beautiful:)
