I Love Hobbes Thursday

Sometimes, I like to lay in the grass with Hobbes, noticing big important things
like ants and tiny flying bugs.
Sometimes it's nice to just see how very white his
whiskers are or how pink his nose is.

I like his perspective from this vantage point--it's all....
slower and makes the rest of the world seem less important.
And that is good.

Hey, join me over at CardioGirl's place today, I'm the guest guru and Idiot Savant. For some reason, she thought I'd be a good go-to gal for answers to life's questions. Silly CardioGirl.

This made me remember being a kid! I would lay under the big trees and look up through the limbs at the clouds sailing by...ahh good memories of simple days!

Hobbes rules!

Hey, here's an inane comment for you at your pad. Does that bell on Hobbes' collar get on your nerves inside the house?

Does he run around in the middle of the night jingle-janglin' waking you up?

I'd love to lay in the grass, beside Sir Hobbes, and view His Kingdom. You do know that it IS HIS Kingdom, don't you! HA! :)

I like that Hobbes' eye view.

Our cats get very perturbed when we get down to their view. It's so funny - they tense up immediately. They know who belongs where and humans should not lie on the floor...

Melodie--Does anyone just lie in the grass anymore? I'm glad my yard is fenced in because I do. It's one of life's simple pleasures.

DG--Yeah, they all do. Give me an animal any day. :)

CG--You don't really hear it unless he is running, but it is nice when he is outside and he's coming home. It's funny, but I can tell the difference between the two cat's bells at night in the dark--it's all in how they walk. But, I don't even notice the sound anymore.

A.Marie--He's the king of the world! LOL!

Chuck--He's got the right idea, Chuck.

Grace--My cats like it for the most part. And that is why I don't do sit-ups anymore--they thought I was down there to play with them!

No internet at home and it's Hobbes Thursday! Argh.

Great view from his perspective.

I can almost smell the fresh green grass.

I like to get down in the grass with Duke some times too. It's interesting to see how he sees things. It sure looks like a whole different world from his perspective.

Helene--Arrrgghh! Can't it go out on Friday?? Well, I guess work has its benefits. :)

Vanilla--It's nice to sit with him and see what he is watching. He likes bugs apparently.

Lifeshighway--Yeah, isn't it nice to see again?

Ann--Isn't it funny what you see when you sit with them? I find myself noticing actual blades of grass and little bugs. Hobbes likes little bugs.

Cats are smart.
They get us to feed them
They get us to pet them
They get us to be slaves for them

Then they get to lie in the sun and do nothing all day long.

Cats have it made.

Whenever I get on the cat's level, they tend to get on me. Sadie even hovers over me. I guess it fascinates them that I'm on their level as much as it's fun to see things from their perspective!

If I get down on our ground I can't get back up besides I don't want to lay where they pee and poop yuck.

You are right Lin. Nothing else are as important as Hobbes :D

Your photo is a good reminder of what it's like to always have to look up!

Last year I was lying in the backyard, flat on the ground, in my pj's taking photos of the morning dew on the grass blades. Thank goodness it was so early in the morning the neighbours were still sleeping!!! Nothing like living next door to a crazy person! :)

I miss hearing Cantik's bell! But it scared the hell of me the first time she strolled into my unit!!

White whiskers rule. I miss them, this bunch all has black.

Well, of course ants and flying bugs are Big Important Things! But you haven't truly seen the world through Hobbes' eyes until you catch one of those flying bugs... and eat it! Humans tend to stop before the good stuff happens.

Lin said...

Pricilla--Yeah, in my next life, I want to be a cat!

Beaded Tail--My kitties do that too! Or they roll around in front of me. I gave up sit-ups for that reason. ;)

Jude--Oh yeah, dogs do that. I don't worry too much--the kitties use the litter box and Grace will sometimes pee in the mulch.

Vanilla7--Or nothing is really all that important, Vanilla. That's more of what I'm thinking. :) Makes life more bearable to think that way.

Catherine--So, who's crazy?? You or them?? I live by total nutcakes, but then sometimes I doubt my own self.

Veronica--LOL! I sort of tune the bell out now. But it is nice to hear it coming when I call them.

Storm--I heard it is good luck to find a cat whisker. Did you hear that too?

Sparkle--Neither of mine will actually eat the bugs--Hobbes just licks them. We had a cat, Molly, that would actually eat spiders! Ewwwww.

That is a great shot of cute lil ole Hobbes.

Oh I know what you mean. I like to lay on the carpet next to Livvy. Together we gaze at the dust bunnies and cobwebs....

Darn, I missed your exclusive moment at CardioGirl. But I'll be over to check out what you've said. :D

Lin said...

Casey--You can't take a bad shot of that cat! He should model--really.

Rebecca--I was sort of boring at CG's I think. I was afraid to go too goofy for fear of losing her followers for her. That's a lot of responsibility, you know. :) Those cats have it good, don't they??

Nice perspective Hobbes has there. I like admiring my cats' long white whiskers too.

Hobbes has the best view! :D
