Yeah, let's bust the good kids

Last week, Em and her pallies were in the weight room conditioning for badminton. Unbeknownst to them, the weight room was off-limits to students without a coach. Even though another coach let them in to lift weights, the girls were confronted by security and threatened with detentions. Why, I'm not sure, I mean, they were lifting weights not drugs. Whatever.

So, the following day, Em was called out of class to go see the dean regarding her charges. Pretty much, this is what ensued--except the Spanish or the making out part. Well, that's what she says anyway.

Poor Shauna--I mean, Emma. And no, she didn't get a detention, but she did make a new friend.

I think that's the last time I enjoyed a performance by Charlie Sheen. Classic. My kids are exactly like Ferris and Jeanie.

What's high school without breaking a rule once and getting caught ;-)

I'm glad that Em at least made a friend as a result of her ordeal.

I seem to remember students being younger than that when I was in High School.

There is yet to be a unit in the educational establishment where all the ducks are in a row.

FBDO is a great movie, and I have greatgrandkids older than those students. I guess rebellion is only masked, not eradicated.

[please don't take that last statement too seriously]

Ah yes... I am reminded of the day I was called and told that my GOOD son was in the principal's office. He was in trouble for trying to break up a fight instead of calling a teacher. Sheesh.

So - no harm, no foul and a new friend. Not a bad day. Also makes for a great story to tell at the Thanksgiving table.

Conditioning for BADMINTON?

Never knew.
I am sorry they were idiots to her.

You know what, after seeing that I realized I never saw that movie I only thought I saw that movie cause, who didn't see that movie?

Omg, how weird right? I feel like I just learned something about myself and it's odd.

Some sort of cosmic shift just happened - like you assume something about yourself and find it isnt true. so so weird.

DG--It was funny to hear Em telling her tale sitting with some stoner outside the principal's office. When I asked her if she remembered this scene from Ferris Bueller, she cracked up. She said it was exactly like that! Nice she made a new friend, eh?

Jodi--Well, I don't think she was doing anything bad intentionally. We've had a theft problem in the locker rooms and the kids aren't really sure what the rules for the day are in regards to that. She was lost in the shuffle and lack of communication. She laughed about it later.

Chuck--Yeah, she said it was pretty hilarious. She also had to sit in the back of the bus last week, which she said was even more interesting!

Vanilla--I think it's a movie that never ages. We've had a theft problem in the locker rooms lately and the kids don't know what the rules are from one day to the next. She got off because of that. It's just bad because she and her friends are really good kids and they aren't putting their attention to the bad kids here. Barking up the wrong tree.

Sharky--Well, at least she got off! Then we could laugh about it. I hope your son got off too.

A.Marie--Oh, she was laughing about it! She is so straight and not the type to be sitting at the principals office. Well, at least she met a nice young man. ;)

Stephanie--Oh, she's fine. We had a good laugh over it when we posted this scene!

Buggys--This tale is almost as good as her having to ride in the back of the bus with the thugs. I'm lucky that kid is alive!

Pricilla--Yeah, all the sports make you lift weights and run now. Who knew?! She got off, thank goodness, or you know I would have made a trip to the school. I wish they could bust the thugs that are breaking into the gym lockers instead of busting the honor students.

Tracy--The only solution is for you to go and rent it. It is hilarious!!! It's funny how my kids love movies that I loved as a teen.

I hadn't thought of that movie in a long time! Glad that Em made a friend and now has quite a story to tell!

Poor Em! Josh is in secondary school now and I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I'm glad she didn't get in any real trouble. It's too bad they're having problems at the school. I think it's awesome that they're making the kids run and lift weights for all the sports. It's good for them. :o)

I love this movie :)

You mean to tell us that your daughter told Charlie Sheen to put his thumb up his butt, go blow himself, threatened to remove one of his testicles and wound up making out with him instead? Well, then what happened?

By the way, you were acting a little hyper. Sorry.

Your not hatetin on my favorite Wife Beater, are you?

How can a guy so talented, be such a f'up? I dunno, lets just not raise our kids the same way!(limo liberal Martin Sheen)

Catherine--Yeah, how come they all look older on TV???

Beaded Tail--This scene came immediately to mind when Em was telling me her story. When I reminded her of it, she cracked up! It was perfect, just perfect. Poor Shauna/Emma.

Cute--Yeah, no kidding. You gotta know my Em to imagine her sitting on the chairs by the principals office. I know she was dying there!

Veronica--Well, I guess it is all a part of growing up. Em was pretty funny how she ended up talking to her thug friend. Good for her, eh?

Mee2--Welcome, pally! Yeah, there is a lot of theft in the locker rooms lately, but I don't think it is the honor roll kids doing it--really. You'd think security would sort of figure that one out, right? Sheesh.

Storm--It is timeless. I can watch it over and over. We all completely forgot about the line about "Shauna" at the end of the clip--subtle, but funny.

Fish--Well, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, Fish. Em has been making some thug friends lately as she was also stuck in the last seat on the bus last week as well. Sigh. That Em is a tough cookie.

Don--Oh no, I think this is a great Charlie Sheen moment, don't you?! Nah, I'm laughing at my Em being stuck in the same situation at school and chatting with the thug next to her on the principal's bench. Some things never change--liberal or not. :)

It's funny how much the bad kids get away with but then they make an example of the good ones. Sheesh. Poor Em.

Oh, I meant to comment (on your leaving EC post) that you should use Google Reader. It's awesome and that way it will TELL you if anyone has posted and you don't have to click through all of your bookmarks.

Great scene. Sorry to hear Em was busted. Some people like to have power trips over others. Sounds like that happened here.
