Semi-Wordless Wednesday

Aw, gees. Now I'm all melancholy for springtime and Henry.

Has anyone else noticed the blogosphere is chock full
of wishes for warmth, sunshine, spring, and the absence of snow?
We still have a good two months left of 'fake-birdie-on-a-string',
catnip mice, and a crinkly bag on the floor in the kitchen.

Perhaps we ought to just relish in winter things just yet.
The comfy basket in front of the fireplace,
the electric blanket on the bed turned on high,
and a warm lap just right for snuggling.

There are good things about winter.
We just have to remind ourselves every so often what they are.

Hang in there, pallies.

Last week when the sun finally came out a bit and the day was just a bit longer-I was so ready for Spring.

I kind of like the slower pace that winter-time brings. I have been cleaning and sorting (in the midst of tax work) and am really "getting into the cleaning groove."

Of course, my kids are going crazy...they want SUMMER! :)

What are all of those things you refrence? Cat toys? Cat beds? Spike's cool weather alternative? Sleeping on the warm spot on the dining room floor, where the heating pipes run. I wish he were a player.

Sorry babe but for some of us there are no positives about winter. Hate the cold, the snow, the dreary...Nature may need winter but I don't.

Thanks for reminding us about the good things that winter offers. However, It is long, it is cold, dark and snowy, and this time of year after several months of the cold, I am MORE than ready for my trip to Maui next Friday! Aloha warm weather, sandals and shorts!!

Ha, you're guilty of the spring wishes yourself, silly girl.

Henners is adorable, love the picture of him hiding in the bushes. Did he jump out and grab your feet when you walked past?

BTW, I'm digging winter. Sure, it's not snowing and we can wear shorts some days but I don't have sweat dripping down my asscrack like I do all summer.

You forgot milk jug rings on the kitchen floor and kitties chasing their own tail.

Okay. I admit it. You are right. Of course you are right. We should love, cherish and admire winter. I'm so ready for spring . . .

I love that picture! I've been trying to ignore the things I don't like about winter (the cold!) and relish in the fact that there are no bugs and minimal sweating. :)

Good reminder. We are never content, are we? Always anxious for the next....and the next..

I almost think it's why I got married in February - so I'd have something to look forward to in the midst of winter...

Oh yeah, every ones all, Is it spring yet. I woke up to snow today. SNOW! And reports of a snow storm over the week-end. I mean - enough already. I get that its winter do you really have to rub it in.

Is it spring yet. I'm sobbing, can you hear me? And poor ginger too...

I do like the cats snuggling more during the winter but I would love to see the sun. It's just rain, rain, rain here!

Helene--Yeah, me too. But it's a long way off yet, Helene. I have to be realistic.

A. Marie--I'm still sort of clinging to hibernation and my winter coat. I'm not ready to shed that protective outer shell just yet. Well, until I lose my winter fat. Ugh.

DG--Yep. I gauge my days by how I have to entertain the cats so they don't drive us nuts. The crinkly bag is getting old and we are searching for new cat fun around here.

Grace--Really??! You don't even like those really pretty snowflakes that land on your window and melt really slowly? Sigh. I do. I have to admit.

Hot Rocks---Awwwww, did you have to go and tell us that you are going to Hawaii???! Crud. Forget my Pollyanna speech about liking winter--I'm JEALOUS!

Casey--Sheesh, I am ready for spring, but I know we have a long way to go yet. Enjoy the sweat-free butt crack, pally.

Lola--And now I'm finding poufs of fur all over from battles fought while we are working.

Chuck--(me too)

PJ--Hi, pally! I'm so glad you popped in to say "hi"! We miss you, you know. :)

Petula--I don't have to cut the grass, my weird neighbors are all indoors, I can hide my fat butt under my winter coat.......

Roschelle--Wow! That's CRAZY! I admire your tenacity, pally.

Buggys--Yep. And I guess that is what is good about having seasons--there is always change on the horizon.

Pricilla--We always have a nice Valentine dinner to perk things up during the drudgery. Happy anniversary, pally!

Tracy--We've been getting light, pretty snows. Ones that don't really accumulate, but just get your car all icky and dirty. That is just annoying the crud out of me.

Sharky--I miss the garden and the pond. Yes, I enjoy having the time off of yard work and maintenance, but I do miss the colors and smells of warmer weather.

Beaded Tail--Yes, the SUN! I wouldn't mind the cold so darn much if we had a little sun to brighten our mood. Ugh.

waaa.... I know we keep saying spring is going to get here but it's still so white here!

But you are right, let us rejoice in what cozyness winter brings!

hmmmm.... nope.... sorry.... it' not working... :(

Living in the midwest, I don't even allow myself to think spring until at least midway through March!

Great picture!

I'm more for the heat than the cold and cannot wait for summer to come along. I think people smile more when the sun's out. Wouldn't you agree?

Lin said...

Catherine--Yeah, it didn't work for me either. :)

Violet--I'm with you. February, March, and even a bit of April--sheer hell.

Woman--Yes! Even if it is cold, I have found everyone is just happier if the sun is shining. Not too much of that happening lately, though. Bummer.
